    Love it!

I originally purchased this for my fiancé when it was funded on Kickstarter in 2015. We both fell in love shortly after! I now couldn't imagine using the Apple TV without it. It is easy to use, quick to set up, and works seamlessly with the TVs in our home. I honestly couldn't tell you where the original TV remotes are at the moment. Sideclick is also the perfect size addition to the tiny Apple TV remote. We lose it so much less often now! I have even had several of my friends and relatives comment on how great and convenient my Sideclick is! If you are thinking about getting one....I say go for it! You will not be disappointed.

Great addition to the Apple TV

The Sideclick has been a great addition to our 4th Gen Apple TVs. Programming could not be any easier, and its able to control both my TV and soundbar. My wife's only complaint is she thought the buttons on the side would slide in and out for a smaller form factor. Honestly, for me, the size and how the Apple remote docks helps prevent from accidentally changing the channel on Directv Now with the touchpad. Highly recommend.

New Rule: No Apple TV remotes without Sideclicks!

Sideclick is a big win for me. I have 2 young kids and I have yet to find another Apple TV user with kids that hasn't had to replace the remote at least once. We indeed had to replace it once and it went missing for a good 3 days another time. The Sideclick remote adds the perfect amount of bulk to the remote to keep it from slipping into the abyss of the couch cushions, and yet the attachment is slim enough that it is easily controlled with one-hand. Sideclick also makes navigating media selections easier for all of us. Instead of needing multiple remotes for turning on/off the tv, switching the input to the Apple TV, channel surfing using our Antenna, or adjusting volume through our sound bar, everything can be done with the Sideclick Remote. Since getting the Sideclick, there has been significantly less "MOM" shouts across the house from frustrated kids so that is huge. It really is a handy little accessory. Perfect for cordcutters with minimal button function needs. We also have one for our Roku. 5 stars

Makes my streaming life so much easier

I backed the Sideclick on Kickstarter, so have been using it for some time. I bought one for my 3rd generation Apple TV, and absolutely loved it. With the increased functionality of the 4th generation Apple TV remote, I wasn’t sure that I’d need it, but even for that one, it’s a great help. There are rare times that I need to pick up another remote, but the Apple TV remote with a Sideclick is generally all I need to use most of the time. Pros: Light and not bulky at all (-although it’s light, it adds much-needed bulk to the teensy-tiny Apple remote that can be easy to lose between the cushions) Intuitive and easy to learn to use. Extremely easy to program Cons: Honestly, none that I can think of. Depending on the system setup, I’ve used my Sideclicks to program TV power and volume, receiver volume, receiver inputs, TV channel, muting, and more. They’re an indispensable aid to streaming, and I absolutely love the Sideclick.

Great convenient way to consolidate remotes

This is such a convenient and great way to considate multiple remote functions onto one remote. It doesn't make your remote bulky to hold, in fact I find it makes the Apple remote more comfortable easy to maneuver in your hand and less easy to drop. Aside from that it adds the ability to turn on the TV and change things like input settings all from one remote. I also programmed one button to turn on my sound bar as well (3 separate remote functions all on one remote). Not usually do you find a product that makes you this happy without being difficult to achieve but this is a very simple product with a high level of satisfaction and ease of use. It is especially good to use on tv's you may not use with a cable box and only a streaming device alone.

    Streamlined streaming

Great product!!! Sideclick makes streaming my content so easy for anyone to do. Turn on the TV with the power button, change the source if I need to, and control my surround system with the volume & custom buttons. Not only does It makes it a breeze to control a complicated system, but it's easy to set up as well. I had a more complicated/hard to read universal remote, and I "taught" the Sideclick all the commands I needed from that. This makes it easy for anyone who comes over to control my Apple TV and stream music/movies from streaming service apps off their phone. The slight negative, be willing to forego complete, 100% control of your system with a single remote though. The limited number of buttons makes things easy, but may keep you from a function you may want, like a surround/stereo mode toggle. But if you think about the necessary functions for your setup, you'll end up programming a very effective Sideclick. Would recommend to anyone who is interested in making it easy as pie to get to the content, which is totally worth it.

Makes the Apple TV remote marginally better

Makes the 4K Apple TV remote a little more usable. The Apple remote just plain sucks and has to be handled extremely carefully to avoid accidentally touching the track pad. This makes the remote a bit bigger, so easier to handle. And it adds the much needed power and mute buttons.

I've been using Sideclick for several months now, and I still love it. Gone are the days of trying to find the dumb TV remote. It's stuck to the Apple TV remote now. It's so easy to use, and I can't imagine going back. Seems like such a simple thing, but it greatly improves my after-work happiness level. :)

the Side click is great. I Googled for a solution to my multiple remote annoyance and this was the only reasonable solution...to my surprise it is also the BEST POSSIBLE solution! even my girlfriend, who doesn't share my gadget fascination , loves how it helps prevent the apple remote from getting lost in the covers while still being use able with one hand....so good I grabbed one for our roku too!

    Best $15 I've ever spent!

Caught this on Best Buy Deal of the Day for $19.99 and I had a $5 reward certificate. Read the reviews and decided for $15, I'd take a chance. I was not disappointed! I had a remote for cable, one for the TV and one for Apple TV. With SideClick, I'm down to one device. Programming instructions don't come with it, but there is a video to watch on their website. It took about two minutes to program the buttons for TV power, TV input, TV enter, cable channel up and down, cable volume up and down, and cable mute. This addon is nothing short of life changing!!

Great addition to a great remote

I backed this project on Kickstarter and purchased versions for both the Amazon Fire Stick and the original Apple TV. When I upgraded to the new Apple TV I went out and grabbed the version for that as well. I have several HDMI devices connected to my TV and being able to program the side button to a different feature means I can program it to change input on my TV and on my hdmi switcher without having to grab all my remotes. It also keeps my fingers from getting the volume option too dirty on the Apple remote itself.

    Nice for additional controls

Apple TV really shines with its support for HDMI-CEC. This allows it to turn the TV on and off and control its volume... unless you put another device between them. I have surround sound and a receiver and as a result the Apple TV will turn receiver on, but the TV stays off. No fear! I installed a Sideclick and programmed the power button to control the TV. I used the A/B buttons to have the receiver automatically switch inputs on the receiver between the Apple TV (used almost all the time) and the rarely used Bluray player. All in all worked well. Only negative is with 4 kids the plastic holding the sideclick to to the Siri Remote cover broke off. Some superglue fixed it and has been fine ever since.

    Bad design, good concept

The sidekick makes the Apple TV remote bigger than an iPhone 6 with a battery extension case on it, and that makes using the touch pad on the Apple remote side a pain to use. Few people have hands big enough to reach across comfortably. The idea of the slidekick is to be slim and low profile, and perhaps make the streaming remote slightly more substantial in the hand, but instead, it just makes using the remote annoying. fingers don't wrap around the remote all the way, so they are awkwardly underneath the remote. Right handed use: The weight of the batteries in the slidekick is annoying when using the apple remote, and the TV buttons require a stretch to reach with the thumb. Left handed use: great for TV buttons, but using ApplTV touch pad is as annoying as reaching for something on the top end of an iPhone 6 screen If you don't browse much, and you like ugly things that cost 1/5th of the applTV, than this might be the product for you. I will most likely return this item, if I have the time before the 30 days is up.

This is a must-have add-on to your Apple TV. It consolidates the TV controls and Apple TV controls into one handheld package. Our TV came with a bulky remote and it was super annoying to have to keep pulling that big remote out just to turn the TV on, especially since we like to have a very minimalistic/clutter free environment in our house. Buy this!

    Clutter Free at Last!

This gadget is a fantastic clutter killer. I used to have to juggle multiple remotes, even when Apple added volume up and down. Now power, source, and even a couple of extra buttons to do whatever I need to do on my TV. Bonus points: since the ATV4 remote has volume I can reuse those volume up and down keys for completely different features.

I’m baffled by the positive reviews. I bought two, could not get them to work, and I wasn’t able to return them. I got the power to sometimes work but no channels or volume. I have newer tv’s and I’m very familiar with technology. Complete waste of money. Have fun programming them!
