Once you got yourself an Apple TV and then Chromecast, you need to use the TV remote to make sure it won't wake Apple TV while watching something casted via Chromecast. This device would allow you to do just that, without having to deal with bulky TV remote. It also allows you to switch between inputs (and watch regular TV via antenna). It works on any TV with Infrared remote control as the simple remote would be able to learn 8 buttons of your choice

The sidekick gives me control of my TV functions without having to pick up the TV controller. The AppleTV controller fits easily into the sidekick cradle making it more substantial without making them bulky. It is simple but serves its function well.

This thing is awesome. Easy to set-up and use and makes the remote a bit bigger and more comfortable to use in your hand. Each button is manually set and can be used to control whatever you want. I have my soundbar and TV as options on it as there is no mute button on the apple tv. It has taken my remote use down to just this and we love it!

I bought this sideclick on sale for my apple TV gen 2. Bought on a whim, but it is now my most used remote control. Very easy to set up and comes with a couple programmable buttons outside of the main ones (power, input, volume up/down, channel up/down). Wish it had a few more buttons I could designate as I need, but for what it is, it's a pretty solid little remote addition.

Originally, I purchased his to make entering information into my  TV easier, but the added, or hidden benefit is that it makes it harder to lose my  TV Remote Now!

Easier to forward or rewind whatever I'm watching on the ATV.

This little device is awesome! If you're an avid Apple TV fan user and hate having multiple tv controllers, then this is for you. It controls my tv, and sound bar. I programmed it so I can change volume on all of it and turn them on and off. It's a great device to have with your Apple TV. I recommend it considering how the price is great and other universal controllers can cost you an arm and a leg

This works great. I was able to go from 2 remotes and the Apple TV remote down to just this setup for the most commonly used commands. I control my TV power and input selection and the soundbar volume so far and it works great. Also makes losing the Apple Remote less easy. Stays put on a surface real well. Wish it had another row of buttons and I would've given it 5 stars. Programming the buttons is pretty easy, but sometimes it takes a couple attempts to get it right. You just point the remotes at each other, press the button on the remote that you want to program into this remote, then press the button you want to program on this remote.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who uses their Apple TV as their main TV watching option. Side click makes it so easy to have one remote instead of multiple. What's great is that the buttons can be set to anything you want. So you could set it to turn on multiple TVs and the button to do that is your choice. Great product!!

This is a great accessory to my AppleTV remote for a few reasons. 1st I don't have to pull out my TV remote to Mahe picture setting changes. 2nd it makes the AppleTV remote harder to lose. Lastly it is easy to program whw I decide I need a different button handy.

I had seen reviews for this remote and everybody seemed to make it seem like this attachment was going to change my experience with my TV. I didn't really love my experience with it all that much. I ended up removing it from my Apple TV remote a few months ago after having it connected for quite some time. Some of the things I didn't like about this attachment were how bulky it made my Apple TV remote. It added unneeded weight to my remote. It also made it awkward when you were handling it. I felt like it fell out of my hands more often then not. I don't think I'd recommend this. However, this was my experience and others probably love the additional functionality it adds to their TV's, but for me, I'm going to pass on using this going forward.

This works great alongside your Apple TV remote. You can program the buttons for features you choose, like "source", volume, etc. There is another model that works alongside Amazon Firestick.

this is great for the AppleTV. it fits the appletv remove very well. i haven't tried charging the remote with attached to the SideClick yet, but will do that soon just to make sure it works. Programming the remote went flawlessly and I like the added bulk to the AppleTV remote because I kept losing the AppleTV remote. great addition to my AppleTv

Never even heard of this til I saw it on the 'deal of the day' post. Works like a charm. I like how you can assign each button to work specific features of multiple remotes. One up/down controls the tv volume and the +/- controls the sound bar volume. Of course, these are my choices. But in truth, it was an excellent purchase.

It was very easy to setup and program. Takes programming directly from orginal remote. No books or long list of codes.

Excellent add on to the Apple TV remote, which always slips around and disappears. This acts as a holder for the Apple TV remote as it snaps right into the holder, and also learns the Samsung TV and Sonos Soundbar buttons. Finally a solution to the slippery, always disappearing Apple TV remote.

Fanatic product! Fits Apple TV controller perfectly and even includes support for both controller versions. Very easy to setup, easy be of the most creative ways I’ve seen to program a universal type remote. Comes with batteries!

It’s nice to now have one remote for my streaming TV experience. I can turn on and control basic tv functions.

Learning remote made it easy to add sound bar with volume and even infrared heater with temp controls.

I love the Sideclick! I have a very small TV in my home office, along with a soundbar and an apple TV. I really didn't want three remotes on my desk, and I didn't need an expensive universal remote -- i mean, it's my home office. This is the perfect product -- it is quickly and easily programmed, and now I can just click one button to turn on the TV, another to turn on the soundbar, and then just use the apple TV remote to control volume (and programming selection). I've also found the Apple TV (4th gen) remote to be reallllly sensitive -- just touching it or moving it can wake up the apple TV, and it's easy to register accidental touches/clicks. Having the side click on the remote also helps avoid accidental touches and clicks. This thing is perfect for what i needed, and it works perfectly!
