Adds versatility to your streaming device

I just do not understand the need for it. Every thing I need is on the Apple TV REMOTE and I cannot imagine why I would need this. I bought 2 because I have 2 4K Apple TV's and since bought a new 4k Apple TV. I just don't see the need for this device. Maybe I am missing something here.
