Customers consistently note the exceptional image quality and low-light capabilities of the 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Standard Lens for Canon. Many also praise its robust build and favorable price point. However, some users have reported challenges with focusing accuracy and find the lens to be heavier than anticipated. The lens's build quality is frequently highlighted as a positive attribute.

It’s a great lens. I do see the focusing issues (missing focus) but I got my camera and lens calibrated and it seemed to help some. It doesn’t miss focus all time. I get a loooot of super sharp images.

I have this paired with my canon r5 and it’s one of my go to lenses for couples portraits. I just love the look that it gives. I was worried about how well it would perform with having to adapt it to the rf mount. But the autofocus works great! You can’t get maximum frame rate but that’s fine for my needs.

First copy was razor sharp but had issues wasn’t sharp at certain distances .I didn’t bother buying the dock ...just got a second copy ...this one is more reliable with the focus. It doesn’t read light like a canon does but it is also half the price. So far so good

Another great portrait lens, I use at weddings. But really can be used for any type of shoot with just a little more wideness. If using with Canon it does require an adapter but works well and still gives great quality.

I bought this lens after trying the canon 35mm, but this lense is much meter, well built, and the f1.4 is incredible.

Make sure you calibrate to your camera

I loved it at first until I went in to edit videos and the subject was blurry. Of course, it didn’t appear that way during filming but it sucks to not have it work properly out of the box. I now need to calibrate it to my canon, which is extra money and time but at least I’ll be able to use it. I still love it, everything looks good, just make sure your camera is completely compatible first so you’re not disappointed. Nothing wrong with the lens itself though. I wish Best Buy offered the service to calibrate lenses to whatever camera you have but I can do it myself.

After researching for a great 35mm Lens it boiled to either this or the Canon L 35mm which costs a thousand more, if weather sealing isn't a matter of life or death to you there is no reason to buy the Canon, the build quality, the sharpness of the image is right on par with the Canon. I'll be getting the 24mm sigma as well, these are workhorses that will pay for themselves.

Hands down my favorite lens. This hardly never leaves my camera. I specialize in maternity, newborn, and milestone and it is perfect for all three of these sessions. I couldn’t recommend a better lens

I originally purchased the 35mm Art and tested it for about 15 shots. I immediately returned it to the store and decided to go with the 50mm since Best Buy does not currently offer the 85mm Art. The shots are beautiful and crisp. The color and contrast is superb. You will not go wrong with any of these Art series lenses. I am using this on my Canon 5D Mark II.

If you are reading reviews on this and you are debating between this and the canon version stop reading and just buy this already. My photography is centered around sharp images and this lens produces unreal sharpness as well as beautiful images. This is my go to lens now and my last few family photo sessions I have only brought this lens and its amazing.
