Customers are saying

Customers admire the 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Standard Lens for Nikon's exceptional image quality and impressive bokeh, frequently praising its sharpness and creamy, aesthetically pleasing background blur. Its fast autofocus is also a significant plus for many users. However, some find the lens to be quite heavy.

This lens is incredible. I used to shoot events and portraits mostly with a Nikon 24-70mm 2.8 and that lens has sat in my camera bag as a back up ever since I purchased this Sigma 35mm ART lens. It's crazy sharp, fast, and much lighter than my 24-70mm. It works great in low light as well.

For the price, the Sigma 35mm f1.4 is hard to beat. The bokeh is beautiful in this thing and the picture clarity is something you wouldn't get out of any other brand in this price range. It's a little heavy but I enjoy the weight as it feels sturdy and well built.

I couldn’t decide if I wanted to go with the native lands or the Sigma but since getting the Sigma it’s been totally worth it! Their prime lenses are amazing! They are so sharp and totally worth it!

The best in the market, works perfectly with a full frame, I have a nikon d750 and they go very well together. The price is fair, compared to the original Nikon. Very good quality.

The Sigma 35mm Art is incredibly sharp, with beautiful rendering. It is my go to 35mm lens on my Nikon D750 and never fails to impress. The key to unlocking its potential is proper calibration.

Was having to fine tune my camera for focus on the Nikon D750 while using this lens. I have heard many awesome reviews on this lens however after buying it the second time I'm not happy with the outcome. Could also be related to my camera and the lens as well.

I debated for MONTHS about getting this lens and was so disappointed and unimpressed given all the hype surrounding it. I was so weary of getting it because of the notorious focus issues that this lens is known for. I ended up getting it and used it a few times and was just so upset!!! It did not focus in almost ANY of my photos! :( I asked around to see if this was an issue with a brand new lens as opposed to a used one and saw that people recommended to calibrate it - this did not make any sense to me since it was BRAND NEW and had the focus issue. I didn't want to spend more money to fix something that's supposed to come new and working so I returned it and plan on getting the Nikon version of the lens. on top of the focus issue, I found that the sigma colors were a lot duller than my regular Nikon lenses which made editing take a little longer than usual to get my right colors and that it was HEAVY. Using it for a long wedding day would be a little rough. Now I know that there's a reason that this lens is half the price... I don't think it's worth it to compromise a paid session or wedding for half the price of the native lens at the end of the day.
