Surprised
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had low expectations for this hotspot and network but surprisingly it worked really well. Kids used driving to Florida and back and we didn’t really have any issues. The 50gb of data that I bought went pretty quick though with one of the kids streaming Netflix for hours. Can get expensive with volume users.

consider other options
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not for the technically "faint of heart". I had nothing but problems from the get go. The activation process failed. Geek Squad could not get the device activated. They had me call Simple Mobile support (8778787908). It took about 45 minutes for them to resolve it. The conversation is extremely frustrating because their entire process and support script is designed for mobile phones. Nobody there knows hotspots. There are things nobody, and no website, tells you about this device. It does have both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wifi, but only one band can be active at a time. The directions tell you to go to its webpage at http://192.168.1.1 but fails to provide the username and password. It isn't until much later into the Quick Start Guide that you discover the username is admin and the password. Nobody at Simple support knows this information, so you are on your own. Also, if you talk to them about 2.4G or 5G WiFi, they don't know what to do with that. They will tell you the device only supports 4G, referring to carrier wireless. Buyer beware and good luck!

Awesome Product
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The simple mobile hotspot worked fantastic. easy set up. I had no internet due to at&t constant rescheduling my installation. So I bought this Simple Mobile hotspot and it worked great. I now have my at&t and actually the Hotspot is better and cheaper than my AT&T. Highly recommend.

Works great
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well once you set up. Took some time to get it personalized (network name, new password, login in info, create account, etc) as expected but once it’s set up, super easy to use. Mainly used it to connect to a smart TV (outside/tailgating) to stream Youtube TV for college football and worked great, no connection loss or buffering (used within a populated city with great cell reception). Would recommend to a friend. I’d recommend having a portable battery or outlet nearby because it drains somewhat quickly.

Mobile Internet
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased tjis mobile portable Hotspot device and for the most part I am pleased with the compact size, easy to use 2 button function and readable display. It's ok
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When it works and has service it's good it seems like it goes off tmobile towers, but it does not work everywhere i would like it to. I have tmobile so i can usually get service any way. There's probably better ones for more money.

Great hotspot, bad customer service
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This item works great. A word of advice, do not buy the prepaid plan from Bestbuy. I spent 1 hour on the phone with Simply Mobile explaining how the sales associate sold me the wrong plan and how they were unable to issue a refund. Bad customer service but the hotspot worked great once i paid for the plan again online. I’m out $50 due to being sold a phone plan instead of a prepaid hotspot plan.

Works good- I like it!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing works remarkably well! I’ve been using it to Stream Netflix to my TV while my Bro is connected as well using it for his Xbox online gaming AND our phones connected as well. You do burn through data pretty quick and it’s more expensive to use than a regular ISP but if you live somewhere there is no IDP available- this is a good option!

Easy set up and use
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm pretty happy with the layout. I've had to use hotspots before but I wasn't able to see the data info without logging on to their website. This was a really nice feature. Easy to set up and use.

Great Hotspot

Waste of time and money…
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buyers beware…It’s a shame that Best Buy would sell these with expired SIM cards (at least that’s what SimpleMoblie tech support told me). You would need to buy another SIM card from Best Buy for the device to work or SimpleMobile will send you a SIM card for free if you call Tech support. I decided to wait a few days and let them send me a new SIM card. Once it arrived I called tech support again only for them to tell me that the new SIM card is expired and the old one is working fine… I still couldn’t get it to activate. I don’t think these guys know what they are doing and clearly they don’t care cause the new card clearly says on the back to activate that SIM card by 08/09/22. It’s April 2023. Needless to say I’m tossing this thing away and that $50 I’m not getting back.
