The legs were easy to attach. The hydraulic lift slowly raises the lid with with a flip of the hand. The blue velvet material is plush. My computer shows it as a royal blue. It is more of a blue/dark turquoise, which was a happy accident. Matched perfectly in my husband's man cave.
