The Simplisafe whole home security system nine piece set is a solid DIY home security system. With a base station, wall-mounted keypad, an indoor camera, and outdoor camera, four door / window sensors, and a motion sensor, the nine piece kit contains everything you need for a small home, or as a starter kit for a larger place. You can set up the system through the app or the keypad. I chose the app, and it was pretty straightforward. Everything except the indoor camera uses wireless connections to the base station, so good WiFi coverage throughout your home is essential for setup. Once all the components have been connected and placed in the desired location, operation is pretty straightforward. The keypad mounts on a wall and operates on a battery, so there’s no need to locate the base station near a door. Images from the cameras are clear. The outdoor camera does not have a light, relying instead on night-vision infrared. While this works in most situations, it can be difficult to make out facial features without the light. There is frequently a delay between what the camera sees and what it relays to the app, sometimes 15 seconds or so. In addition to the standard security features, the Simplisafe system also comes with a built-in cellular backup in case your Internet service is down, as well as smash detection on the keypad that automatically alerts the monitoring service if the keypad is intentionally damaged. If your WiFi is down, there is no way for the outdoor camera or the sensors to contact the base station. You will probably want a backup power source for your router, as otherwise simply shutting off power to the home would disable the system. Simplisafe offers three levels of monitoring plans, ranging from $10 to $30 a month. Without a plan, the system is somewhat useless, as you cannot even store and review video. With the lowest cost plan, you are the monitor – there is no actual monitoring service, just the ability to store videos. Even with the $20 plan, you do not have access to all app features or monitoring. Only with the $30 service are you able to get the full experience. Note that there is not actually appear to be any additional cost incurred by Simplisafe between the $20 and $30 plan. Much like some extortionist car manufacturers, they are charging you to access features that are already in the equipment and app that you already purchased. So, one star off for this. Overall, the system is effective and easy to use. If not for the subscription concerns, I would have given it five stars. As it is, make sure you factor in the annual cost of monitoring into your cost of ownership before you purchase.

Overall, I'm pleased with the setup. The installation was refreshingly simple — everything is well-labeled, and the system connects quickly to the base station. The mobile app is intuitive, and I appreciated being able to customize settings right away. I love that I can add additional sensors to the system. Everything from temperature and water sensors to additional cameras and smart locks. One standout feature for me is pet mode, which helps avoid false alarms triggered by my dog. My city fines homeowners for false alarms, and if the fine isn't paid, they won't respond to emergency calls. The sensors and outdoor camera are reliable and responsive, with clear video quality and solid motion detection. That said, it’s important to note that while the system does function without a subscription, the experience is significantly limited. You lose out on professional monitoring, video recording, and some advanced app controls — which defeats part of the value if you're hoping for full protection and automation. For basic alarm functionality and local alerts, it still works, but it’s a scaled-down version of what it could be. This is a great system if you're looking for flexibility, expandibility, and ease of use. While I wish that features weren't so hampered without a subscription, you still get peace of mind from this home security setup.

The SimpliSafe system is incredibly easy to set up. Everything connects wirelessly and you can go about 30ft away from the base station in any direction, so it’ll cover most non-mansion houses. All the sensors are peel and stick, and the cameras are simple to mount, so you can be up and running in lass than 30 minutes. SimpliSafe agents are always super knowledgeable and friendly. Cameras are clear and detailed, now with a speaker so you can tell the delivery driver where to put your shipped orders. Battery life on the camera isn’t great, so I’d recommend getting an optional solar panel if you don’t have power in your attic. Otherwise it’s a great starter system that I’d recommend for any house and any skill level. My 70yr old mother installed hers with no problems, so you can too! Really no complaint about them. Their prices have remained reasonable despite the growing economic uncertainty in the world. The technology is easy to understand, and you aren’t locked into a contract. All signs point to this being a big win in my book!

This SimpliSafe Home Security System was so easy to set up. I have a 9-piece system that includes the central tower, four contact sensors, a motion detector, a keypad, and two outdoor cameras. Additional sensors can be purchased to enhance the capabilities of your system. Once you've unpacked the alarm, charge the batteries for the outdoor cameras; the necessary cables are included. Download the SimpliSafe app, which will walk you through the process of installing and configuring the system. Everything is easy to install, and all the hardware is included. The outdoor cameras are nice because they use a ball magnet, which allows the camera to be pointed in the exact direction that you desire. Each camera also comes with a 15-foot charging cable and transformer, allowing you to plug it into AC power if desired. In this configuration, the onboard batteries act as a backup. The cameras utilize Wi-Fi, providing excellent range. Our home is solid brick, and the signal strength is excellent. The motion detector and contact sensors are straightforward to install. The SimpliSafe application provides step-by-step installation instructions, accompanied by videos. The SimpliSafe application is well-designed to indicate the system's state clearly. SimpliSafe offers a monitoring service with various service levels. Signing up for a service is required to use the security system. There is a yard sign and window decals to let people know that your home is protected. Through the SimpliSafe application, you can live view what is happening around your home.

The SimpliSafe - 9pc Outdoor Home Security System is a very nice system. SimplySafe is the number #1 home security system for the DIY sector of the population. I love the flexibility SimplySafe offers with their broad range of expandable hardware and their flexible security plans with options for everyone to pick their own level. The hardware itself is very robust with impressive build quality throughout the different pieces. From the wireless pin pad to the outdoor cameras in this set you can tell it is high-quality stuff. I really like how you can easily add more cameras or sensors to a base system as needed. Personally, I would;d rather use Simplysafe than any of the other one stop one size fits all security companies out there that want to control every aspect of your install and plan for your monthly subscription. I have not had any issues with the Simplysafe hardware and the cameras are on par with other top brands I have for different cameras. I will be looking forward to expanding my SimplySafe system a little at a time until I have every component I want installed. I like being able to know what is going on at the house when I am not there and this system lets me do that. I also like the door chimes, so I know every time the door opens, front or back door so I can see what is going on. If you want to install your own security system, there really is not a better more comprehensive, expandable and flexible system out there that I know of. I will be using mine for the foreseeable future, I know that much.

    Reliable and Convenient Smart Lock

I have owned the TP-Link Tapo DL100 Smart Wi-Fi Deadbolt for about one month and it has been a solid addition to my home security system overall. The installation process was fairly simple. Everything included was here and it took no more than an hour to mount it to my door (standard) without needing to drill any additional holes. From a functional perspective, I appreciate the versatility this offers. I prefer to use the keypad for entry and the jog buttons have an acceptable feel and responsiveness. I liked the backlit keys and the ability to hide my code in random numbers to enter during the darker times of the night too. I, also, like that I can remotely unlock or lock my door using the Tapo app. When family and guests arrive, I can easily create and delete different access codes to keep track of access management. The battery life seems good, since I've used Wi-Fi mode, I have not had to change the batteries. The alerts in real-time and activity logs are a great benefit when away from home. I used the voice assistant for Alexa and this worked well, but I tend to use the app more. My only minor dislike is that occasionally, my remote command might take a few seconds longer, but this is so small it does not make me dissatisfied in anyway. Overall, I feel the DL100 is a decent balance of security, convenience, and smart features at a great price.

    SimpliSafe is Truly Simple!

I love SimpliSafe for several reasons, firstly because their products are quick and easy to set up with confidence, but secondly, and more importantly, because it's an easy, affordable way to protect yourself, your property, and your loved ones. The system even has cellular backup, in case your Wi-Fi and or power go down. That is real dependability. The wireless nature of everything means that a power outage doesn't take your system out, and as I mentioned, the cellular backup means that you are always protected, and so is your home. I travel abroad, and being able to check on the status of things is invaluable. I have now set up SimpliSafe systems for both my parents and my in-laws, none of which are particularly tech savvy. They have adapted to using these systems very easily, and they even say they find them easier to use than their old standard home alarm systems they had. The only downside I have encountered is that I cannot tell that this can be connected to Google home, as I would love to be able to view the front door from my Google nest speaker/screen. But that's really just a minimal complaint, I almost always have my cell phone on me, and I can easily check who's at the door or what the disturbance is from my phone.

I have needed a security system solution for my apartment but wasn't sure what to get or what would work as far as reliability. Having the opportunity to get this system by Simplisafe was a no brainer. I like the all white look and the build quality is excellent for all the components. Once unboxed, I installed the sensors on my windows and front door, the cameras outside overlooking the driveway and the backyard, the keypad on the wall next to my front door and the base station and motion sensor are in my hallway. I connected everything and got everything setup, also connected it to my google home hub. After getting it all started and running, I tested it out. The cameras work very well and produce a good clear, clear image, the door sensors and motion sensor work as they should and when opened, activated the siren on the base station. The siren is very very loud. It scared me the first time it went off, lol. The keypad is great. The buttons feels solid and are easy to press. Overall, I am so happy with this security system and feel a bit safer knowing I covered.

This is my review for the SimpliSafe - 9pc Outdoor Home Security System -in the color White. What's Included: 1 Base Station 1 Keypad, 4 Entry Sensors 1 Motion Sensor 2 Outdoor Cameras Free one month professional monitoring subscription included Set up and installation was pretty easy, basic -you can do it yourself no professional needed and set up took less than 2 hours. Prior to SimpliSafe I had allot of different systems (one front door doorbell, one outdoor camera and one home security system) had allot of different subscriptions and I’m happy to say I have gotten rid of 2, now all I need is the SimpliSafe doorbell to add to my system, which I do wish they offered that in a package with it included , but all in all I’m glad they that I have the option to add additional equipment if needed! I also added more window sensors and had no issues with that, this system is very user friendly and best of all is no contract! You are not bound to anything! All in all I would recommend.

Having tried many different home security systems I feel like it takes a lot at this point to impress me. I can say that this SimpliSafe 9pc Outdoor Home Security System has definitely impressed me. It is probably the easiest system to install and setup without feeling like you need to pay someone with more experience to do so to avoid any issues. This set comes with the base station, keypad, 4 entry sensors, a motion sensor, and 2 outdoor cameras. You also receive 1 month free of their professional monitoring service but it's nice that this is a system you can use without needing the monthly service if it's not another item you want to add to your budget. Of course, the paid service will definitely give you much more peace of mind but it's just nice to absolutely need it in order for the system to bee. beneficial. The SimpliSafe app works well and is easy to navigate. So far I haven't experienced any issues with lagging which I have experienced often with another brand home security system I was using. I should also mention that SimpliSafe has a number of different add-on options available so you can truly customize your system for your needs which makes this an even better choice for most users. Overall, I would definitely recommend this system to anyone that was looking for a simple yet effective home sercuity option.
