Home security - in a box!

This is a great set - it's a bit pricey perhaps, but when you compare it to getting this many sensors from any of the "old style" home security companies, it's a bargain at twice the price! You really do get a full system in a box, from motion sensors to entry sensors, glass break detectors and 2 cameras as well as a keypad and a panic button. But it all starts with the base station - and the app, of course - which is actually nicely designed from both a functionality and a style perspective. This is important since it will likely be centrally located in your house and sitting out somewhere so people will more than likely see it. Setup is a breeze, just download the app, register for an account and it guides you though everything else. Given all the pieces, it still does take some time to get each one put up/installed/configured and tested, but the time per piece is low (you can add more pieces ad hoc by buying them from SimpliSafe though I have not had to do this as the kit came with enough pieces for my usage). The monitoring is very affordable compared to other options and I do like the range of options for alerts in the app and whatnot. At the end of the day, the question to ask yourself is what's the value of peace of mind? Because with something like this, that's what you're buying. Peace of mind that your house and your belongings will be where you left them when you get back from vacation. Peace of mind that someone is keeping an eye out when you're asleep or home alone. Is that worth a bit of effort and a fairly low cost? To me it is - and if it is to you, then I can highly recommend this kit.

THE BREAKDOWN: I have been a 4-year user of Xifinity home security system. This system included a 6 door, motion, indoor camera and the original keypad and tablet keypad for arming and disarming your system. This system was monitored 24/7 but comes a hefty price tag. I was excited to get a chance to try a new system with both inside and outside cameras without the hefty monthly price tag. This SimpliSafe 17-piece system includes: • White Base Station • White keypad • 8 Entry Sensors • 2 Motion Sensor • 1 Panic Button • 1 Glassbreak sensor • 1 Keyfob • 1 SimpliCam indoor security camera • 1 Outdoor Camera • Security Decals, Yard Sign, 3ft Yard Stake Installation of this SimpleSafe Home Security System was fast and simple. To start the installation, you take your base station out of the box and then download the SimpliSafe. Then just follow the directions in the app. First it will connect to your Wi-Fi network and then guide you through every step. The whole process took me around 30 min. Setting up the sensors are pretty much stick and go! I installed the glass break sensors in the basement. The motions sensos were also easy to install. I love the keypad and the ability to mount it where you need it. The cameras are very nice. Both are 1080p and the outdoor one looks good even in the night. The cameras only take a few minutes to set up. I felt like the outdoor camera with the two-way talk was a little laggy. The base station alarm is louder than expected so, be prepared for that when you test it. PROS: -Easy to setup -Can be monitored 24/7 -Included key fob -1080p cameras CONS: -Two-way audio was a little laggy SUMMARY: Overall, if you are looking for an overall security system without the monthly cost this is a great option.

    SimpliSafe is Simply the Best

I love SimpliSafe and have since 2017, that is the reason I upgraded my system by choosing the 17pc kit and even added 2 sirens and an extra key pad and multiple smoke detectors and the Co2 detector as well. The reason I stick with SimpliSafe is ease, ease of install, ease of setup, ease on my wallet and puts my mind at ease every day. When you receive your box of parts, the easy to follow instructional videos on YouTube are all you need to watch, then, take the 30 minutes at most to setup your entire home. The way you register each item and can name them and just stick and go for the most part is so easy. The cameras are the hardest to setup and still only takes a few minutes each. The keypads are nice as always and have a proximity sensor and knows when you are about to touch it and it lights up, pretty neat if you ask me, nice upgrade to the gen 1 setup for sure. The panic button is nice to have, I installed it near the bedrooms so anyone can run out of a room and hit it easily. Each window and door sensor is so easy to instal, peel and stick, done. The glass break sensors are great for basements as they usually have non opening windows so this is a viable option to protect your basement for being the point of entry when you are sleeping. The keychain buttons are nice but would never actually leave the house with it, someone could hold you up and use the buttons to get into your home where your kids are, I decided to use it with guests or my pet sitter, if they are scheduled, they will get the key fob for that week or few days we are away. The cameras are nice, both with great 1080p pictures and the outdoor one looks great even at night with the built in spot light. The cameras take a few minutes to setup, once done, it is easy and they are fast at picking up movement and sending my phone a notification of the movement. I will say the app is a little slow at connecting to the cameras to view them live, sometimes taking well over 45 seconds, my other cameras take less than 5 seconds from anywhere, SimpliSafe NEEDS to fix this to be considered a top tier Camera service addition. I love the cameras but that is a huge hit to me and is why I knocked it down to 4.5 stars even though it shows 5 stars. If SimpliSafe fixes the camera app issue for Android and makes it connect within 5 seconds, this would be a 5 star only review, you would not find a better all around security system period, they would be the only market choice. If you are looking for the best overall security solution for your home or small business, here it is, look no further and buy this setup.

This is the second SimpliSafe Security System I’ve owned, although this time in a different home. The configurations, however, are similar. One new component for me is the outdoor wireless security camera. While I do have the system being monitored, do note that you don’t have to have it monitored. You can do self-monitoring, which essentially means that you monitor the system rather than relying on SimpliSafe to call you in the event of a triggered alert. Personally, I feel that there is great value to SimpliSafe monitoring the system. The brain of this system is the tower-looking device – the base station. When armed, this tower emits a blue color to let you know that the unit is actively working. Consider getting up in the morning and heading outside to get the newspaper and forgetting the turn the alarm off. The color is intended to visually alert you that the alarm is active. One configuration parameter allows you to set how long you have when a sensor is triggered before the security system calls SimpliSafe formalizing the alert. I have my delay set to 40 seconds. So even if I did inadvertently set off the alarm, the 40 seconds is plenty of time to deactivate the alarm using either the keypad, your phone app, or the key fob. When something triggers an alert, you will receive a notification from the system alerting you to the sensor triggered. Thus, it could be a newly opened window or door, glass breaking, water, and more. When setting up the system, I strongly recommend naming your sensors in such a way as to easily know which one was triggered. For naming, you have 13 characters to work with. So, “FamRmLeftWin1” might be the window in the family room on the left. The number “1” might be used if there are two windows on that side of the room. In the event your WiFi goes down, the Base unit can communicate using cellular. If you lose power, the Base also has a battery backup that will help for a period. Of all the devices comprising this security system, only a couple devices use your home’s electricity. They are the Base tower and the inside camera. All other devices use replaceable batteries. I mention this because batteries will have to have their batteries replaced 3 to 5 years down the road. All in all, I think this is a wonderful system. As such, I am giving this a 5-star review.

When I moved into my current house a couple years ago, there was an older model Simplisafe installed and resetting it and programming it to my liking was a very easy task. When I got the chance to try this new Simplisafe home security system with indoor and outdoor cameras i jumped at the chance to see what is updated and man is it easier and more intuitive now! you have 2 way to setup the system either by downloading the app and setting up using the step by step guide from the app or installing the control unity and going from there for an offline install. I chose to install using the guided steps using the app. you download the app- setup a user name and password and add your information like contact info and address, start adding the accessories which are plenty! you get 8 entry sensors that you use for doors and windows 2 motion sensors 2 cameras, one indoor and one outdoor. a glass break sensor which is amazing! a panic push button 1 keyfob (i wish there were 2) the base station (uses wifi- i wish there was an option for wired as well) the white keypad the great thing about this system is that its modular, you can buy more sensors, cameras based on your need and setting up is as easy as 1-2-3 using the app. you have the ability to name each sensor so in case of an emergency, you would know where the issue is. the camera has 2 way audio for communication and deterring, there is a subscription option to connect you with the police if you want for a fast response in case of an emergency. both options are great! conclusion: I now feel that my family is safer that we have the newest simplisafe system. the ability to add sensors based on need is great. the fact that an 8 years old could setup the system is also wonderful. the price is decent.

Easier than ever to set up

I’ve upgraded my SimpliSafe system several times, and have put SimpliSafe systems in other properties I own, and it’s now a fantastically simple system to install and operate. Even my 65 yr old mother can work the keypad and the app with ease. This system comes with almost everything you could want or need. The one glaring exception is no solar charger for the external camera. Easily rectified by purchasing a third party usb panel (SimpliSafe branded panel is too pricy imho). Setup is easy. Only screws needed are for the external camera. Everything else mounts with sticky tape. Setup now is literally done with a single tap of a button on each device being added to system. No more remembering serial numbers or running back and forth to the keypad. My only complaint is their algorithm for pets needs fine tuning. It’s still too sensitive for mobile pets like cats. Wish there was a collar dongle that SimpliSafe could use to help recognize a pet. Other than that, it’s the best home security system I’ve ever had, and I strongly recommend it to anyone wishing to make their home more of a hassle to burglars than the neighbors’.

Simplisafe includes everything you need to fully protect your home. Each of the components is very well made and connects easily to the base station. The base has look that you can put anywhere in your house. Simply plug in the base and once configured the blue glowing light confirms it is armed. It has a built in battery and cellular to continue to provide coverage for up to an hour if there is a power interruption. The voice confirmations clearly inform you when there is a change to the alarm configuration. All of the setup is through the control pad that can be a little confusion at first but is rather easy once you setup the first few devices. It clearly confirms when each device has connected and you can create a custom name for each one. The window sensors adhere very well and are small enough to not stand out. You also have a fob that can be used to arm and disarm. If you decide to subscribe to one of their premium services you can control the system through their mobile application as well. Customer Service is very supportive and the subscription prices are very competitive to the other alarm companies. The cameras are a pleasant addition to keep an additional watch both inside and out from your home.

Doesn't get any easier, or simpler than this. Out of the box there is a lot to unwrap and unbox. After get all that done be sure to download the app to get started. Once set up start with the main module and go from there. The cameras will require scanning the QR code but the other devices get found once the plastic tab is pulled. The cool thing is that you can rename the sensors to coincide with where you install them. Double side tape works great and I see no need for the included screws except for the exterior camera base. Once the easy set up is finished take some time to familiarize yourself with the app and adjust the cameras to the setting you like, wish they were 4k like most cameras though. The indoor camera closes the shutter when unarmed, pretty cool feature, the exterior camera needs to be recharged or a solar panel added, not included. Pick up the free trial for monitoring and then purchase a monitoring plan for less than a buck a day, there are cheaper plans as well. You can also just self monitor at no charge although I recommend the monitoring service for peace of mind.

The SimpliSafe - Home Security System with indoor and outdoor cameras is really good. Build quality of all devices - comes with 8 entry sensors, panic button, break the glass sensor, 2 cameras and remote. Ease of Setup - This system was very simple to setup and was straightforward. Activating my account took a couple of minutes. I was impressed the panic button was part of this kit. App - The app was straightforward as well. It has many tweaks for the system. Downloaded quickly and was able to walk through the setup screens on my phone. No issues with the app. Control pad - Quality and can run everything from here, turning on and off the system setting it for home or away. I found the updating of the software to take a bit to download, but once downloaded it updated the system and then rebooted to finalize it. System - Customer care is very efficient. I had to remove my older system from my account and apply this unit in its place. The techs were very knowledgeable and able to assist quickly. Highly recommend this product and amazing quality which lasts with little issue.

Upon receiving this item, I immediately begin to inbox the SimpliSafe home security kit. Everything was neatly packaged, adequate documentation was provided, and the sleekness of the products was extremely noticeable. Set up of the security system was a breeze! Each product installed correctly with out any hiccups, while following the instructional guide. The security system is easy to use. I would recommend the security system for someone who is tech savvy, or someone who is not tech savvy because of the ease of use. If you give this system a try, you can sleep at night with a better peace of mind, knowing that you are being monitored by a reliable system, that you installed your self. The cameras and sensors all worked in accordance to the companies guidelines as well as the expectations of someone who was making the purchase I have zero negative comments about the SimpliSafe home security system I would recommend this system to anyone as I have already recommended it to others, simply based off my experience with this particular security system.
