Not great. Camera battery died in 17 days called customer service and they told me to put camera on low sensitivity which I did . But now sometimes camera doesn’t detect motion . Always disconnect from Wi-Fi . Not good

This review is for Bestbuy.com. I ordered this system when Best buy had Deal of the day and I just opened the box to install the system for my parents. BestBuy shipped me a return item. All the sensors, motion sensor got sticky tapes on and they were removed. Some even got hairs or paints. The base and the keypad couldn't sync to each other. The cameras were scratches and the outdoor camera is missing the base. I ordered many times from Bestbuy.com and I can't believe they shove a used/returned item to a box and shipped it out.

So I received my SimpliSafe Home Security System with Outdoor Camera a week ago and I couldn't be more excited. I installed a SimpliSafe system in my office building at work, so I kinda knew what to expect. This company is great. UNBOXING You're greeted with a "Let's Get Started" page with steps on how to get started. Next is the "Let's Do This," Kit. Inside the kit is the User Manual, (2) SimpliSafe Window Stickers, the Motion Sensor, (3) Entry Sensors, and additional adhesive strips for the sensors. * Base Station * Indoor Security Camera (w/Power Cord and Adapter) * Keypad * Wireless Outdoor Security System (w/Battery and Charging Cable) * Yard Sign (w/Stake) SETUP This is where the fun began for me, however, for new customers, I am following along with the User Manual step by step. First you're instructed to download and install the SimpliSafe app to your phone. It's available on the App Store for iPhone and the Google Play Store for Android devices. Next, you will need to create and setup an account with SimpliSafe. The account is free to setup, the monitoring service is for a fee. However, you do get a free 30-day trial included with this system which you can try out, but be forewarned, that SimpliSafe want to be able to keep you as a customer, so in order to cancel that 30-day trial, you have to call into the to cancel. So after your account is setup and verified via email. Now you're going to start off with setting up the Base Station. Scan the QR Code on the bottom of the Base Station or enter the number on your phone. You will also be prompted to connect the Base Station to your home Wi-Fi network. After getting my Base Station setup, I was then prompted to setup any devices I had. Following the instructions on the app, I installed each of the Entry Sensors one by one at my Front Door, Garage Door, and Patio Door. I then installed the Keypad via the app along with a Master Pin. I got the Motion Sensor and Indoor Security Camera both installed. This entire process with the sensors took no more than 30 minutes if that. The Wireless Outdoor Camera is just as easy to get connected. Using the app, add the camera like you would any other device and find the perfect spot for it to be mounted. Since it had been raining non-stop here for the last week, I've not had a chance to mount this camera outside my door yet, but it is connected and up and running. You will have to keep an eye on this camera as it will need to be charged periodically, but the you can possibly minimize how much you have to charge it by turning off the motion sensor in the settings. PROS SimpliSafe is a company that I have come to love over the last 5 years. I had an older SimpliSafe system at the old apartment. Then having installed another system at my office building at work last year and now installing one in my home, I have been used to the ease of installation and the flow of the app. Everything just works. I've never had any issues with any of the sensors, or other devices, that I've installed from SimpliSafe. Because of the easy installation for myself, that means it doesn't take a rocket scientist to install it nor does it take a long time. I pretty much had this system up and running in about 45 minutes. Another pro that I love is the fact that you can customize one or both of the cameras. The cameras both record at 480P, 720P, or 1080P. It would have been nice to have 4K, however, that is not a deal breaker because 1080P is still really good video quality in my book. I also like that you can view these cameras and what may or may not be happening at your home while you're away from practically anywhere in the world. The Keypad is simple and easy to use. The display on the Keypad kinda reminds of the old BlackBerry Storm type phone I had with T-Mobile back in day where your press the whole screen down to select anything. It's simple to use and you can adjust setting for your keypad and entry sensors on the keypad. You can also check for updates for the keypad and Base Station as well. Now in terms of security, once you have your account setup and depending on what level you choose, SimpliSafe representatives will notify you in case of anything going on at your house. Break-ins, fires, or alarms going on. Now I've tried this in the past and they are quick and on it as soon as they get an alert, they are calling you to make sure you are ok and aware of what's going on. The reps that I've spoken with have always been courteous and professional. CON (but definitely not a dealbreaker) After you test out the system for 30-days you have to call in to cancel it. I wish they would allow you to cancel it without having to call in. Overall, this is a great system for your home, office, and anywhere you want to keep safe. The build quality of the products are top-notch as well as their customer service reps. And you get a lot of bang for your buck in this bundle, even with a 30-day free trial of their monitoring system. Simply its peace of mind in a box.

I'm going to start with the negatives: - NONE! Seriously, this is hands down the best home security system on the market in my opinion. Why? I'm glad you asked. Stick with me and I'll take you through my SimpliSafe journey. Now you can look at the product description to see what's in the box so I'll save you the repeat here. I'll just leave it at this - everything you need to dramatically improve your home security is included. Right away I was impressed with the aesthetics. The design is modern, sleek, and easily fits into any decor. Along this same line, something I appreciate is the base station doesn't scream "hey, over here, I'm the security system". No big logo or emblems. It's just naturally blends in and could easily be mistaken for a small air purifier, Scentsy pot, or decoration. Setup is beyond easy. The included instructions, which are three steps, easily direct you. Download the app, power on the base station, and the app takes you smoothly through setting up each of your monitors and cameras. Everything connects like magic! I really can't over emphasize how easy this is. There is visual and audio feedback as each sensor or camera is successfully connected. These can be setup in any order and connecting to the base station is lightning fast. Each individual device can have a custom name as well so you'll always know which is which. Sensors can be installed with either the included / pre-attached two-sided tape or with the included screws. These are battery powered. The indoor camera has an included base / stand and is powered by an included power cord which must be plugged in. The outdoor camera has a swivel ball mount which is attached to your home by the included screws and the camera is powered by an internal battery. There are three security modes - OFF, HOME, and AWAY. Even with the system in "off" mode there is a brief, audible tone when activated. For instance, I have one installed on my front door and when the door opens a quick, pleasant beep can be heard. "Home" allows you to turn off things like motion sensors and other items you don't want to alarm. "Away" is fully armed. The included keypad can be mounted using either the included two-sided adhesive or by screws. The keypad is easily detached from the base to take it with you. There is a red panic button on top of the keypad to activate the alarm. Of note - if your system is armed you have a 30 second entry delay to deactivate the alarm, otherwise the security center is notified. So if you enter your home with the alarm active, you have 30 seconds to use the keypad to disarm the system. Cameras do record in full color HD and you can view the cameras via a live feed directly from the app. Camera quality is clean and crisp. This can be done even without a monitoring subscription. There is a slight feed delay which seems to be about one or two seconds. Two-way audio allows for you to not only hear and see any activity, but also communicate verbally to the camera. The indoor camera has a physical steel privacy shutter that you can visually see is closed. You can also hear this slide open or closed. The outdoor camera is weatherproof and attaches to the base by an incredibly strong magnet which is gumdrop shaped and allows for an almost endless directional placement. There is a spotlight which is quite bright. Alarms can be manually activated remotely from within the app. So if you forgot to arm the system, but check the cameras while away and notice suspicious activity, not only can you speak to the cameras you can set off the alarm. Motion sensors can be corner mounted again with either the included adhesive or screws. They blend in surprisingly well and are fantastic at detecting motion. The base station is plugged into an outlet, however it does have a 24 hour battery backup in case of a power failure or outage. This is an added benefit you don't get with all traditional hard-wired systems. While you do not have to have a monitoring subscription to use this system, I highly recommend having one to receive the full benefit. Without a subscription you can view the cameras, use the two way audio, and remotely activate the alarm. But you cannot record any of the audio or video. Additionally, the audible alarm will sound if the system is activated. With a subscription you receive the added benefits of video and audio recording (which is in the cloud), in addition to police, fore, and EMS being activated by the SimpliSafe security center. There are three subscription levels so you will need to review which best fits your needs. Even the highest level of protection is surprisingly affordable. I love this home security system so much! There are so many more sensor and monitoring devices available and I will definitely be adding to my system. I have already recommended SimpliSafe to several of my friends.
