Great for peace of mind
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This home security system comes with 4 entry sensors, 2 90-degree motion sensors, base station, and keypad. The entry sensors and motion sensors are attached via glue strips, so get the locations perfect before pulling off the protective strip. These strips can be replaced with 3M command strips. The 4 entry sensors are battery operated with a button battery # DL 2032, the 2 motion sensors have a 3V CR123 battery while the keypad is 4 AA batteries. The base station is electric. Setup is completed by installing the SimpliSafe app and following the directions. After initial installation of the SimpliSafe base station discovery of each device will begin after you remove the battery protector. I suggest that you just slide the back off and remove the battery protector that way. After setting things up you can decide on what monitoring plan you need. The system comes with a free month of pro monitoring. The SimpliSafe indoor system does not come with any cameras. They can be purchased separately, along with security devices. As we use both the front and rear door, I will need to order an additional keypad. While using this system I received notifications quickly on my phone. Once I set up the pet mode, I received fewer notifications. I did not purchase any monitoring from the company and the system works as promised.

SimpliSafe - Indoor Home Security Kit
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I received my SimpliSafe Indoor Home Security Kit 8pc system a couple weeks ago and have been putting it through its paces. Lucky for me, I have become very familiar with the SimpliSafe brand over the last few years as I already have a SimpliSafe system currently installed in my condo - and also they installed a SimpliSafe system in our offices at work. This new 8 piece kit will be installed as an addition to my current setup at home. UNBOXING You’re greeted with a “Let’s Get Started,” page with steps on how to get started. The greeting doesn’t stop there - included are (2) SimpliSafe window decal stickers to display that your home is covered and protected by SimpliSafe. A 1 month free trial card is also included which gets you 30 days of 24/7 Professional Monitoring. Now onto the real unboxing: 1st Box: 2 Motion Sensors, 4 Entry Sensors, Additional Window Stickers, Adhesive Strips, User Docs 2nd Box: Base Station 3rd Box: Keypad 4th Box: Yard Sign Stakes (for the included Yard Sign in the bottom of the main box) SETUP This is where to fun begins for me, however, for new customers, just follow along with the User Manual step by step. First you're instructed to download and install the SimpliSafe app to your phone. It's available on the App Store for iPhone and the Google Play Store for Android devices. Next, you will need to create and setup an account with SimpliSafe. The account is free to setup, the monitoring service is for a fee. However, you do get a free 30-day trial included with this system which you can try out, but be forewarned, that SimpliSafe want to be able to keep you as a customer, so in order to cancel that 30-day trial, you have to call into the to cancel. So after your account is setup and verified via email. Now you're going to start off with setting up the Base Station. Scan the QR Code on the bottom of the Base Station or enter the number on your phone. You will also be prompted to connect the Base Station to your home Wi-Fi network. After getting my Base Station setup, I was then prompted to setup any devices I had. Following the instructions on the app, install the Entry Sensors where you feel you need protection the most. They can be affixed to doors and windows or any other point of entry into your home. Next install the Keypad via the app along with a Master Pin. Install the Motion Sensors following along with the app and you’re set. This process should take 30 minutes or less, but go a your own pace and its okay to double check everything as you go along if you’re new to installing something like this. PROS SimpliSafe is a company that I have come to love over the last 5 years. I had an older SimpliSafe system at the old apartment. Then having installed another system at my office building at work last year and now installing one in my home, I have been used to the ease of installation and the flow of the app. Everything just works. I've never had any issues with any of the sensors, or other devices, that I've installed from SimpliSafe. The Keypad is simple and easy to use. The display on the Keypad kinda reminds of the old BlackBerry Storm type phone I had with T-Mobile back in day where you press the whole screen down to make selections. It's simple to use and you can adjust setting for your keypad and entry sensors on the keypad. You can also check for updates for the keypad and Base Station as well. Now in terms of security, once you have your account setup and depending on what level you choose, SimpliSafe representatives will notify you in case of anything going on at your house. Break-ins, fires, or alarms going on. Now I've tried this in the past and they are quick and on it as soon as they get an alert, they are calling you to make sure you are ok and aware of what's going on. The reps that I've spoken with have always been courteous and professional. CON (but definitely not a dealbreaker) After you test out the system for 30-days you have to call in to cancel it. I wish they would allow you to cancel it (online or within the app) without having to call in. Overall, this is a great system for your home, office, and anywhere you want to keep safe. The build quality of the products is top-notch as well as their customer service reps. And you get a lot of bang for your buck in this bundle, even with a 30-day free trial of their monitoring system. Simply its peace of mind in a box.

Easy renter-friendly home security
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is such an amazing, simple way to feel secure in your home or office without wires or hassels. I live in an apartment, so traditional security systems are out of the question. I was curious about SimpliSafe, but this was my first try and now I'm irritated at myself that it took so long. Set up couldn't be easier. If you can plug in the base and download an app, you can install this on your own. The window and door sensors, motion detectors, and keypad are peel and stick and are easily removeable, making them renter-friendly. The app walks you through the set up process for the whole system. I was able to get everything installed in my apartment and hooked together with the app in under half an hour. The system works best if it's connected to your home wifi, but there's a backup cellular connection for times when you lose internet connectivity at home. The system is easily expandable to include indoor and outdoor cameras, video doorbells, smart locks, and additional sensors as needed. Monthly monitoring is inexpensive and the best part is there's no contract, so if you're unhappy or are moving to a different location, pausing or cancelling the service is easy.

Great all-around package!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This security system has proven to be extremely user-friendly and easy to like! The sensors are wireless and battery powered so no difficult installation is required. Everything can be attached with the included adhesive. The setup was simple and required little effort to figure out. The app is super intuitive; it can be used to live monitor and arm/disarm the system. The base station has a backup battery so even if you lose power, it will still function. The sensors do not randomly go off and have been great with responsiveness so far. I love that it works with Alexa and Google Assistant. It made it significantly easier to integrate into my home. The monthly subscription has different levels so you can decide what works best for your specific situation. It does offer some amazing perks. My favorite is definitely the 24/7 monitoring. Also, if you decide you need more SimpliSafe sensors or cameras it's easy to add them to the system even after initial setup. This system is great if you don't want to deal with the hassle of hard wiring or professional installation. I defintetly reccomend!

Strong relative to Wi-Fi
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A couple of things about this security system: 1). Installation is very easy in terms of having your options to stick to the wall or screw into the wall. No wiring throughout the house needed, as long as you have solid Wi-Fi, the connection is great. 2). The in-app integration is very user friendly, easy to navigate and syncs with Google assistant. With the good features being noted, I would like to say that the service of actually notify me when something has tripped the sensor is a bit delayed and that might have to do with the Wi-Fi connection. Also in order to have every sensor synced up, the central hub needs to be relatively close to the middle of the house and I conveniently don't have a space for it too be there. Also, the motion sensors are not supposed to be too high on the ceiling and that causes a unpleasant aesthetic for my house. Most of this is just nitpicky opinions but the overall service can only be described as decent depending on your Wi-Fi connection. I don't fault the design it just doesn't work for my house

Straightforward, affordable, and effective
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simplisafe has definitely improved over when they first came out I'll say. The setup is pretty straightforward, the door and window monitors work well for a long period of time. My Pros and Cons are pretty basic therefore: PROs Setup was easy, representative was very helpful I did do a test to see how long the response time would be if there was an emergency; it was within seconds (about 30-40 seconds) The batteries last a pretty long time on all the different components The main base can continue to operate for a little while even after a power outage The motion detectors catch evvvvverything The package comes with a yard stake and window stickers System is easily controlled through my app - I can see live video of my home cameras through my app CONs The monthly price has been going up and up - basic price with NO bells and whistles is $20/month, and the one that provides what I expect of a security system is $30/month. The cheaper one does not have video recordings you can download from the app At the end of the day it is worth it for home security at a no-too-crazy price.

Cost Effective Home Security and Protection Kit
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The SimpliSafe - Indoor Home Security Kit (8-piece) - White is a great starter for anyone concerned about their home or those they love in their home. This 8-peice kit brings all the basics to the table for most homes, yet is expandable to grow with your needs. The 3rd generation base station operates on wifi and/or cellular and A/C and Battery for when your power is on, and in times when it is not. This offer another lay of protection ensuring that your "line" cannot be cut prior to a break-in or if the weather is bad. I found this kit to be exactly what was needed for our new house. It covers all the entrances, and the 2 motion detectors ensure that the common areas and entry points are protected from intrusion. We had a few extra pieces from an old house we never used and they synced quickly and easily with this new kit. Installation of the entire kit took less than 20 minutes from start to finish and that included the software/firmware update the unit made upon connecting to wifi. PROS - Simplisafe's quality and innvoation - Easy to use, Easy to install - Wifi with Cellular backup - A/C powered with battery backup - Spoken signals and information from the base station help with set up and to understand system CONS - None at this time!

Basic system without Camera's
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The SimpliSafe 8 Piece Indoor Security System is a popular DIY security system that is easy to install and use. It includes a base station, keypad, two motion sensors, four entry sensors, and a yard sign. The system can be monitored professionally for an additional fee, but it can also be used without professional monitoring. My biggest concern is that there are no camera’s included in the system. Pros: • Easy to install and use • No contracts required • Affordable • Expandable with additional sensors and cameras • Compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant Cons: • Battery life on some sensors can be short • Professional monitoring is not included in the base price • Some users have reported false alarms • No Camera’s in Kit Overall, the SimpliSafe 8 Piece Indoor Security System is a good choice for homeowners who are looking for an affordable and easy-to-use DIY security system. It is also a good choice for homeowners who want the option to expand their system in the future. If you do not have a current system this is a great option to use as a beginner set.

Affordable Security System for your Home
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I finally decided to switch from Nest Guard ecosystem to the Simplisafe Safety Security kit (8-piece version). I thought the switch would be painful however it was a very easy and streamlined process. This SimpliSafe Security system comes with a nice looking base station, a control panel to arm or disarm the safety of your house, four easy to install entry sensors, two motions sensors and a few stickers and a sign you can place in your yard to indicate that your house is protected by SimpliSafe. Of course the usual QuickStart documentation is also supplied. First of all, if you are looking for a decent security system for your home, you cannot go wrong with SimpliSafe brand, I think they have established themselves a while ago and I am sure acquired a number of former Nest Guard customers. Everything in my case worked seamlessly and I decided for now not to opt in to a monthly monitoring subscription. The Security System does a great job notifying you via push notifications promptly and if a door is open, you will know it right away. There is a nice chime to let you know something was triggered as well as your phone notification. Motion sensor works great and thank goodness it has a pet feature so it won't get triggered and bug you in vain. It is nice to know that if your Wi-Fi goes out for some reason, the base station will switch to the cellular service and will continue to notify you if any changes occur. I think this is a great security system for your home or even a small business. The hardware is well built and is expandable. It would be nice if it somehow worked with my Routines set up so it would detect that no one is at the house and arm automatically, but I am sure it is in the works of its next gen security system.

Good for what it is
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simplisafe is one of the few full security systems in a market quickly being overrun by a plethora of smart security systems. It has options for motion sensors, window sensors and even cameras which you can buy in a kit or add separately later. For this particular kit it comes with a pair of motion sensors and 4 of the window/door sensors. For most people this may not be enough and you may want to consider adding more (at least more of the window sensors, depending on your needs). Setup is extremely straightforward. Install the app, create your account, place the base station (somewhere central), secure the keypad and place the sensors. They come with adhesive, however I'd just as soon recommend screwing them in place to ensure stability. Setup does require you to turn on a monitoring package, and while it's not terribly expensive, if you do not choose to continue the monitoring package after the initial trial, you will be severely limited in regards to what the system can do. If you want security without a package, there are better options than Simplisafe. Now as for the functionality. The motion sensors have good range, they picked up motion across large rooms without any issue. There were no false alerts or false opens with the door and window sensors. I do not know how the battery life will be as it is only newly installed. However in general this functions very similarly to many of the big name professionally monitored home security vendors without the cost of them having to set it up for you, and often times the cost of the simplisafe service is less than that of many of the suppliers out there. It's a great option if you know what exactly you're getting and intend to use it as you might one of the larger vended security options without some of that hassle. I'd recommend more sensors and potentially a few cameras if that's what you're looking for. All in all, it's a good security system, competes with the big boys in the right places, but if you want a free monitoring option, this one isn't really for you.
