This setup was purchased and installed at my mother’’s house using a VZN wifi hotspot that provides perfectly fine wifi and internet access. SimpliSafe Setup takes just a little familiarity and is then consistent and simple. The cellular backup to wifi is built in and a big plus. The indoor camera works well after a couple of tries to connect and has been consistent - easy to access from cell phone from anywhere. I like that you can have up to 5-10 cameras without having to pay $10/ each monthly ! I like the carry-device for off/stay/home and panic modes. You only have to enter the code when disarming at the keypad. Otherwise the setting and disarming are one button push on the fob. Overall a very decent alternative to the more expensive services from cable and other security companies.

Great product overall. Really easy to setup. Instructions are easy to follow. Download app and follow prompts. Chimes are nice and loud or can be lowered. Alarm is loud and you can change time limits for alarm duration. I also bought a SimpliSafe Doorbell camera which was very easy to install. The best thing, it dang drain your wifi like the Ring Cam does. If you want a paid service you can get HD video and recordings for $10 a month. Can’t beat that! Otherwise it’s a productive alarm that will definitely let you know if doors/windows have been breached in house and via app if your away. Very cool and affordable alarm system! Absolutely no wiring. Win Win

We came from a traditional wired system. Comcast was the monitoring service after we had them perform a "takeover" of our previously existing security system. When we canceled all our Comcast services, what they don't tell you is that what they do to modify your existing system to work with their Home service, renders your system useless once the Comcast service is shut off. You cannot reset the installer codes, set it back to factory, etc. So essentially we had a whole house system that we'd used for years, just dead in the walls. I loved how simple the Simplisafe system was to set up. I'm not joking, I had the whole system out of the box and running in less than 30 mins. You simply power everything on, sync with the base station, place the entry sensors and motion sensors where you'd like, and that's it. The range is amazing as well, all the components have full signal across my home, both floors. And i love how portable and modular the system is, and the fact that you can a la carte all the sensors and accessories you need. It truly is a one size fits all design. Only get the pieces you want or need, and skip the rest. We have two keypads, sensors on the doors, but opted for multiple motion sensors throughout instead of adding sensors to every single window. We're also getting the keyfobs and panic buttons for our kids, as added piece of mind. I'd love to give it a 5 star, but there are things that I wish the system did that other systems already do today, like multiple sensors alerts on open AND close, or even text to speech of which sensor is triggered, etc. Also, when the system is updated with firmware or new features, there is nothing that informs the user about it, or what is newly installed. Also, they do have a nice app that has great functionality that overlaps and remediates some of the shortcomings of the system alone, however you have to pay the $25 per month monitor tier just to access that app functionality, which i think is sort of ridiculous. All in all, we love the system and the expansion possibility of it over time. If they simply added a few minor tweaks to some of the functionality, it's definitely a 5 star rating all the way!!!

Honestly it works great and it doesnt cost all that much considering it starts at $18/mo to monitor and you dont pay any rental fees because you own the equipment. I love that i can remotely arm and disarm it from my phone as well as add a keyfob that can do the same that you can give to your loved ones

Great, easy to use and install. Nobody should pay for a alarm systems with contracts just do it yourself.

The overall install and configuration of sensors was pretty easy and the instructions were clear. Sign-up for the service and setting the system to active was not as clear (in retrospect it was maybe TOO EASY). The sign-up process did not include the 14.99/month option and I was automatically signed up for the 24.99/month option. That is what I wanted, but if you didn't then that would be an issue. Use of the mobile (IOS version) application is straight-forward for turning the system on once you understand the options (Off, Home, Away). The application doesn't make it easy to monitor the temp sensor though. Also the mobile application could use some 'love' as it appears to have been an afterthought. The testing process was also odd and it was unclear if I was actually causing alarms to go to their call center or not. I ended up calling them and the woman I got was very helpful and walked me through some alarm scenario's and answered all my questions. Since then I have tested the mobile app to change the settings and to activate/inactivate the system. Also used the keypad to do the same. Tested all sensors and they worked fine. Will see how long the batteries last in all of them and the keypad. Haven't setup a camera yet as it requires a wi-fi connection. It would be nice if this entire system was cell driven and independent from your personal wi-fi network (even if that only offered low res camera). Overall I'm satisfied so far with the system.

Good product, easy to set up, would have been nice to know about the subscription that was needed.

The newer version is okay. I prefer the old original setup but after ten years, it started to malfunction so I bought this new one. One negative note: i sur rent Lu pay $30 a month for coverage but the new one if I closed my account and started a new account the instructions say it is $24 a month. You’d think they’d give long term loyal customers a break.

We are thoroughly happy with our SimpliSafe purchase. The store representative gave us a great explanation of how it works and helped us purchase the correct package for our needs. SimpliSafe security has been great to use. Their customer service is wonderful. We are so glad we purchased this type of security system and that Best Buy was able to provide it.

I was tired of my old provider charging so much every time I needed to add a new sensor. We called about glass break sensors and they wanted $250 for two sensors... We also needed more window sensors at $60 a piece... Almost $500 to get a few sensors and two glass break sensors. I about laughed them off the phone. Luckily we were out of contract, so it was time to move on. After doing some research and comparing the options I found SimpliSafe to be my top contender. Their sensors are priced very well and you can setup your home without feeling like you're getting taken advantage of. For the same price to get a few new sensors for my old setup, I could secure my whole home with SimpliSafe AND easily add more and take it with me without worrying about contracts. Most complaints I saw online came down to not having as many connected (smart home) features as some other options. I don't connect everything in my home so that sounded perfect for me while for others that may be a deal breaker. It does connect to Amazon echo so if you're into that this could still be an option. When it comes down to it this really is a "simple" yet modern home security system. It's affordable, easy to setup and install, and I feel like being able to get the glass break sensors around my home helps make us feel more secure. I haven't had to put the system to the test (knock on wood) but we are really happy with the overall experience.

This Simplisafe Alarm System has been a life saver to me and my family. I purchased this system for my 94 year old grandmother who lives alone independently. This system gives the entire family piece of mind while maintaining her independence. The alarm system is easy to use, assembly is a breeze and the mobile app is very convenient.

This system was so easy to set up! Literally stuck the sensor on the doors/windows and press the button and youre set to go. I like that you can set up where it makes a sound when the door opens and easy to arm. The best part is you do not have to have a subscription to have this system operate.

Well-thought-out security system with a superb installation experience (practically effortless). If you've ever installed a security system or camera before, you probably know how annoying and painful it can be. Simplisafe installation was a breath of fresh air. Both the keypad and the app can be used to install new devices - the app is excellent. The app lets you configure each device individually - you can leave each a device on default, or customize them to trigger when you want, which is a huge plus over my old professionally installed system, where I was stuck with what the initial settings were. On the entry sensors, if you have deep casings on your door, you may have issues with the sensors being close enough to each other and might want to Google how you can solve this before committing to the system, if securing doors is one of your top priorities. Excellent security system overall!

Great Camera system for the home. Very easy to install and even easier to recharge the cameras. We get notified whenever there is movement on the outside Camera

Simplisafe is relatively easy to install will guided instructions in print and through the keypad. The adhesive on the sensors is fair, and in many cases the sensor will dislodge. Command strips or a similar product will keep the sensors in place. Operation from the keypad is very straightforward and there is a limited amount of preset customization allowed entry/exit alarms. The system will NOT work with home automation systems unless you purchase the premiere subscription model. Overall, it is a reasonable system for very basic home security.

Easy setup, customer service is good as well. My original keypad gave out. Called customer support and they sent a new one instantly. App works really well. Perfect in our situation because we do not have Wi-Fi at the property.
