If you own a regular security system you are probably well versed with the wiring challenge it possesses and how difficult the the whole process can be. Finally Simplisafe shield provides a total security solution with the advantage of being totally wireless. All you do is turn the components on and place them around the house. You do not need an expert to tell you how to install it. The system came in a small package and includes the following - Keypad (1) - Base Station (1) - Motion Sensors (2) - Door/Window Sensors (6) - Key Fob (1) There are various addons like camera etc that can be added easily. The setup is easy and you need to only name each sensor for the system to find and recognize it. Takes around 25 o 30 mins to get it all up and running. You can easily activate wireless or cellular features by paying a monthly fee. Unfortunately these features do not work in standalone mode since the system is programmed to talk to the provider only. The wireless nature is a definite appeal to home and apartment renters. An excellent top of the line wireless security monitoring system from Simplisafe.

The simplisafe security system is something I didn’t know I needed! I love the whole package that you get for a relatively cheap price the door sensors are very accurate and will send you a notification when they’re opened and closed it will send you a message if it’s left open which was a consistent issue in my household. The motion sensors are very accurate and responsive unfortunately I had to be the one to set it off when it was accidentally set and I walked for .5 seconds in front of it and the whole house was screaming at me. The security key pad is amazing I love how you just place your hand on it and it lights up to life. I also like how you can customize the base of it all simpli herself if you will the sound and lights on her at least which is good enough because she can be quite loud sometimes especially if you have light sleepers in the household. Overall it is a very nice system and works flawlessly with the simplisafe deadbolt lock which is also just perfect!

Purchased and setup 4 bundles. Have been called 3x by service when doors opened or cameras saw things. Prevented stuff several times. Entire area protected by out/in cameras. Temp and shatter and motion work great. But not idiot proof...

I was very nervous about setting up a security system, but after two break-ins to my daughter's new house... something had to give. I found ADT impossible to deal with (they over-promised and under-delivered) and I was weary of trying another service that had contracts that were a year OR TWO! I took my chance on this and was happy. It is simple to set up. We've accidentally tripped it once and they responded right away. We opted for monthly coverage - and it is cheaper than any of the services we considered. It blends in nicely and the base is not cumbersome. It works on cell towers nearby (the home we installed it in didn't have ANY wifi at all and everything worked great... but we are in a city environment... rural areas could vary). You can add components to it (we plan on adding a camera at some point) and it talks to you with specific comments if sensors are activated ("Living room door is ajar" for instance). The ONLY sensor we had to play around with was the motion sensor. It took a few different locations to get the one that would capture movement around angles, etc. We had fun testing it and it wasn't that big of a deal. NOTE: Some jurisdictions require you to report and/or license security systems. Columbus, Ohio is one. You pay a fee (less than 50 dollars) just like you'd pay to license a dog. That's odd, to be sure, but apparently it cuts down on the folks misusing the systems. That ruffled my feathers a bit BUT the upside is that you provide the city with info that would make any responses much safer and productive (like if you have kids in the house a firefighter needs to look for, or pets that could attack a cop, etc). Factoring in that fee, this system was still a far better deal for us than the big-name companies.

I love my Simplisafe alarm system. Right now i have it in my apt. however, i'm moving into a home, and will upgrade and add to the system in my new home. One thing i will suggest, if you buy the entire system, you'll save money, instead of having to buy additional pieces, one at a time. Though if your on a budget like i i'm, you can't go wrong with Simplisafe. It also offers home monitoring with no contract, at better price then any of those contract services.

I have had this for enough time to know how well it works and it’s worth. It’s not cheap, but, it’s good and simple, literally. My wife accidentally set it off, super fast communications from the call center. Our power has gone out and it still works beautifully. The only thing I wish was that it would communicate at the panel and not just the central unit. Took me 20 minutes to installed our 6 doors, two motion sensors, and the panel. Pretty impressed.

This actually works. I was skeptical but it has served its purpose in a home with no internet it alerts us when needed by phone app. And the services have proved faithful. We’ve had one incident and it worked as needed. Easy to install and easy to customize by adding on additional sensors.

I installed this system replacing an older ADT alarm. The installation is indeed simple. The motion sensors don't respond nearly as well as my old ADT ones did, even set to High. The display panel is very basic. The 'Chime' mode doesn't announce which sensor is triggered it just beeps at the tower. This seems pretty basic and easily handled by the software if they would only choose to do it. I inadvertently triggered the alarm (it is monitored by Simply Safe) with an outside garage door. It was blasting for 30-45 seconds before I got back into the house to disarm it. Simply Safe NEVER called to validate the alarm. The history shows the trigger and disarm. Someone intending harm could easily enter and go to the 'tower' and smash it to silence it and do a lot of damage in 45 seconds. I'm not sure how long Simply Safe requires an 'event' to be ongoing before they decide to take action. While it is an inexpensive system, I'm not really sure that it is Simply SAFE. Separate review of the Simply Safe Video Doorbell...

The system came with several sensors but i bought two extra boxes of sensors because i needed them. I installed the whole system myself. The only complaint i have is that the glue in the back of the sensors sometimes doesn't hold that well. Now, the system is fantastic. I have had security systems from two very well known companies, and i have to say this is just the same or even better. No holes in the walls, fobs that allow you to turn on or off your system from anywhere in the house, a base with a beam that allows you to tell from far away if the alarm is on or of, a sound that warns you whenever a sensor has been opened, a system that does everything you need for it to do in order to keep you safe at home. The other day i triggered the alarm by mistake and they called me right away. Excellent security system better than most out there. Now the app allows you to change settings within each sensor and within each mode. Again, excellent and i am very happy with it.

I love this DIY system. It is easily installed and very user friendly. The app is user friendly. Arming and disarming the system is a breeze. That includes using the key pad or using the app. The motions sensors, window door sensors are easily installed. They are also prepped not to cause damage to your home. Also customer service is readily available for assistance if needed

This alarm system is perfect for scaring away people that try to break in or trespass in the middle of the night. The siren is loud and the call center calls within 2 minutes of the alarm being triggered to check in. The call center can also dispatch the police if needed. It's also easy to install. The package I purchased came with everything i needed for my property. The app is easy to use to turn on and off the system. My only complaint is that you can't set up automatic arming and disarming of the system through the app. I got this system after my garage was broken into on July 4th. The thief got away with $1000 worth of power tools. The system was easy to install on my property. The same theif tried to break into my garage on August 4th, but this time i was prepared. The thief triggered the alarm before he could enter my backyard. The cameras around my home captured the man running away from my home immediately. This alarm system has given my family and I peace of mind.

Great, easy-to-install system. I purchaed this for my son, who moved out on his own, and he was able to set it up with no issues whatsoever. He chose to use the monitoring service, and that was very inexpensive as well. I highly recommend this for anyone who needs a low-cost security system.

I am very impressed with this security system, not only how easy it is to install and program, but how well it has worked in the month since I put it in. I opted for the $25/month monitoring as I installed 2 indoor cameras and want the video available from their cloud storage. I like the fact that the cameras have a metal cover that only opens when they are recording, indicated by a flashing blue light. No privacy concerns when the cameras are not recording. I like the fact that this system uses cellular network if internet access is interrupted, as well as being self powered for up to a full day Android app works great allowing remote monitoring of the cameras as well as setting alarm or viewing status. Works with Amazon Echo as well. All in all, no surprises.

This system is so easy to set up. It takes a bit, maybe an hour or two- but that depends on how many components you add… we set up 9 wndown, 3 doors, glass break sensors, motion detectors, and camera. Zero issues.

I cross shopped simplisafe against ADT and decided to go with the Simplisafe DIY approach. Installation was incredibly easy and the app and keypad controller work flawlessly. Setting up remote monitoring was also incredibly simple, and the cost is substantially lower than ADT. Also there is no contract. Of course, with a security system, the true test is how it does in dealing with an actual problem, which most of us hope will be never happen. So far, thankfully, I have no information on how well this system actually performs. All I can say is that installation was simple and the sensors appear to work as advertised. Only minor complaint is depending on the trim around your doors, or the texture/finish of your walls, you may find that the sticky backer on some sensors will not hold. I had to add an additional layer of a stickier higher quality backer to a few sensors that fell off. That only took a few minutes to correct.
