8 months of standard home use and it has been great. Myself and my wife has used it for repairs to clothing pockets, zippers, and sleeves. We sewed together some cloth books for our baby girl, pillows, bedding, and even used it to apply some thick embroidered patches. As for embroidery we used it only a few times, since that has its limitations. It works, but we are just not through the learning phase of that capability yet. Highly recommend this machine if you can get it at the discount price we got it for. Best Buy matched Amazon prices and we took advantage of that option. Any time I can purchase an electronic from an actual brick and mortar store I will do so, just incase of any need to return, replace, or fix the item.

Not the easiest machine to use. Very complicated. I am new to embroidery but followed directions and still kept getting broken needles.

I'm very pleased with this machine, it sews wonderfully, and the embroidery attachment is fairly easy to use, and it does a beautiful job!

My first machine arrived on Christmas Eve and wouldn't even sew 1 inch without bird-nesting and breaking thread. What a huge disappointment. After some careful analysis, I discovered that there was a problem with the tension plate assembly and called Best Buy customer service. They IMMEDIATELY sent me a return shipping label AND shipped out an entirely new machine before I even had taken the first one to UPS for return. My new machine arrived in a couple of days and works like a charm! I LOVE it. I've been embroidering and sewing without any problems at all and I'm thrilled! I've been sewing over 50 years and teach sewing. This machine is a dream. And kudos to Best Buy for outstanding customer service!

Ordered the first machine and when I set it up it wouldn't work kept giving me an error of wrong hoop size contacted Singer and they said there was an error with the machine so we took back to Best Buy who gladly replaced it. Received second machine and it embroidered but it keeps birdnesting below or pulling tight above and breaking needles. When I fix the issue and try to continue it then is out of alignment and most the time I cant fix it. I contacted singer again via their support website they responded with two questions which I promptly answered and then they sent a survey. I never got a response as what could be the issue or how to fix it. I have contacted them again after it messed up and became unaligned in the middle of embroidering and completely ruined my project I was working on. Just waiting on a response. But I've had more issues with this machine than I can count I defiantly would not go with singer if I could do it again I would choose Brother or Baby Lock

I was so excited when my machine arrived on Christmas Eve. Sadly, there were problems with the tension plate assembly and check spring that made it impossible to sew even 1 inch without a tangle of thread and thread breakage. Happily, Best Buy very efficiently and sympathetically paid to return ship it back and, at the same time, shipped me a new one. I am happy to report that this machine does everything I have asked of it. It's an amazing machine and I'm thrilled. I still have a lot to learn but the embroidery sample I tried came out perfectly and it does a great job as a sewing machine. Happy with the machine and very happy with Best Buy!
