Great small unit. I used the flush mount method. Easy to install. I installed it on my commercial truck. It looks great at night.

Had to install myself even thou Best Buy offered free installation. It was a snap. You do need alittle knowledge of electrical and how it works in a car, but I’m sure I did a better job than GEEK Squad would have done.

the touch screen is a disappointment, the remote eh

the look, nice sleek and up to date. actual usability, disappointed. I had the previous commander in my car and loved it(used the remote for driving). the following is my opinions. first, the touch sensors suck and are delayed if they get your push at all. I think they tried to get too cutesy with all the options on the screen (some like to see a lot). when driving the only needed is the channel and the artist/song. the display was too busy and at times hard to see. the older version had a simple LCD readout. I prefer to use a remote because you can feel around the primary buttons without looking. the new remote has no bumps to feel around. the new remote also does not allow to set direct(channel) numbers, first you hit direct on the remote then the station number and enter.on the head unit you hit the channel on screen, then input the number wanted and then GO onscreen. I feel that is way too much time looking at the screen and not the road(I have tried the onscreen) especially with the touchscreen issues I have mentioned. the previous version allowed you to set up the head unit to accept direct, scan or preset(mine was set to direct but could scroll on the head unit wheel or up/down remote buttons). this version also does not come with a remote in the main package (if you get the remote for it) you have to download an update to a media device and plug it into the head unit using a micro usb just to use the remote. as of writing this review I admit I am still not totally convinced that I will keep this version in or put a new older version back in. I recommend having it installed but if you are comfortable with basic wiring and car radio wires,go for it. I made no splices into car wiring.

I needed to add XM radio to my new car, but I hate clutter and wires. This tiny display fits in an existing nook. The radio unit can be hidden behind the dash. The display connects to the radio unit and viola you have high quality music playing through your in dash receiver. It has a built in FM transmitter but I used the direct wire 1/8 stereo plug for max quality. Very intutive controls. I highly recommend

Sirus Xm is working out great for me ,no more fumbling with my phone to listen to music and back to no commercials, this small display module fit nicely into my center council and is easy to access, as other reviewers have said its a bit slow changing stations but no big deal so this is a easy way to access satellite music in your car , I choose to hook up thru the 3.5mm jack to my stock stereo I do have a base box and this delivers good sound , I'm still in my free 90 trail but plan on subscribing before it expires , you can always negotiate price with Sirus or look on line for promo codes.

Amazing radio and you get three months free up front so the cost for it is much less overall. The ability to do on the radio which used to only be possible online to change the music mix your getting instead of just whatever they play is amazing meaning you can personalize your listening while out and about.

    Make Sure to Use Presets

Make sure to set your presets, otherwise it’ll take forever to get to the channels you want. The touch response is quite good and it’s quite easy to access the presets or the album cover modes, but it’s pretty impossible to use the up and down channel options while driving, especially if you’re trying to go from a single digit channel to anything higher than the Howard Stern stations. I also like the look of the radio and where it’s located. I have a Camry with a compartment that opens just under the radio and the installer took some Velcro and installed it on the lid of the compartment. It looks great and it blends in nicely. In addition to the radio itself, I love the deal that’s included with the box. You get three months free if you select the “All Access” package which is every channel possible (outside of streaming). I’m writing this in January and I won’t have to pay anything until mid April. That’s pretty good. But if you don’t want all the channels or are looking for family-friendly only entertainment, Sirius has those packages for you as well. I personally went with “All Access” because I’m a big fan of the four major sports, I like Howard Stern, and the three month deal was too good to pass up. One tip: Make sure there is a spot where the installer can install this in. My installer initially had a hard time figuring out where he was going to put the radio, but found a space and used a very durable Velcro to keep it there. However, if there is not a flat surface to put the Touch, you might want to go with one of the ONXY radios. Those come with a dock that can be installed on top of the dash and can pretty much be put anywhere. That might be an option and they’re usually cheaper than the Touch, although they don’t seem to come with a free Geek Squad installation, which was a huge selling point for me (though as of the week of writing this, the Touch is the cheapest of the radios available through Best Buy). Also: When you call Sirius to activate your radio, make sure to ask them (nicely of course) to waive the activation fee. The slip that comes inside the box says that it’s supposed to come free (this slip also includes a phrase to say if you want the first three months of All Access free), but the person I spoke with was initially hesitant to do so. After a couple of minutes, and not even at my own prompting (I was ready to swallow the $15 fee), she brought it back up and put me on hold saying she was going to look into it. I’m not sure if it was for show or not, but she came back and waived the deal for me. Just remember to ask!

Overall this product is extremely well received with both looks and quality. The installation is pretty basic for anyone with electrical or electronics experience, nothing too difficult. I would have liked having the remote function working from the factory however a software upgrade corrected that issue however it should have been released operational. I would recommend this product to anyone who prefers more customized installations and not just open-and-stick products.

This unit is so much nicer than the last Sirius XM unit that I had. It's small, sleek, touch screen, and has a very logical interface. But....you have to read the owners manual, or you will be out of luck and frustrated.

    One Problem With It

Overall it works fine and does what I need it to do. The only problem that I have is with the on/off 'button'. Does not work well for me. Some times I touch it once and it goes on or offf easily, sometimes I can try for a couple of minutes tapping it, touching it, or holding a finger down on it for several seconds and nothing happens. If that one issue were fixed I'd say it was much better than 4 stars.

    Commander Touch Satellite Radio Receiver

I was looking for a satellite radio to install in my car. I was looking for a touch screen radio just like the one came with my car, and I wanted to keep the hands free for my car. I found out it was going to cost close to $1000.00 to install a radio like the one that came with my car that included satellite radio. When the salesperson informed me of this radio I purchased it and I like it. I especially like the fact that I can rewind if I wanted to hear the song again.

I wanted to upgrade my factory sound system in my Lexus SC430, but I didn't want to change out the head unit and loose the pristine look of my well kept SC 430. With this unit I can only see the display unit, and tuner is hidden. The control are great and easy to use. The touch screen added that touch of modern we wanted with loose functionally the system installed. Placement of the antenna was tricky. But after check Surrius website everything is great. The installer was great. He took great care of the wood interior, and show us how to use the unit
