A Great Value For Wired Earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very skeptical about Skullcandy Wired Earbuds in this age of wireless highly priced ones. I was very wrong! Small and compact, these black Skullcandy earbuds come with a nice long USB-C cord that works with the latest Apple and Samsung smartphones. They are light and compact and put out a punch on high volumes that fills my ears with clear treble sound and great bass notes. I really like the idea of using these wired earbuds for travel. When your rechargeable earbuds run out of juice and need to be recharged, guess which ones will continue to produce great sound for you? These wired Skullcandy earbuds do the trick! Just plug them into your smartphone and you are back in business. They do not need to be recharged to work. The Skullcandy earbuds also come ready to answer incoming phone calls. At the click of an in-line toggle button, you can answer the call and an in-line microphone allows you to talk to the caller. If you are listening to music when the call comes in, just click toe toggle and take the call. The toggle also allows you to skip forward or backward when listening to music. The Skullcandy wired-earbuds provide noise a cancelling fit allowing you to enjoy music without outside noise interrupting your enjoyment. A one-year global warranty is provided by Skullcandy. I really like these new USB-C wired Skullcandy earbuds a lot and recommend them highly!

Perfect for what they are
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones headphones are simple, yet effective. They are light weight, but don't necessarily feel "cheap" in use. I almost exclusively have used these for calls either on the computer or the phone and I think they will work great for almost everyone in that space. Pros: I have been quite surprised by the sound quality and crispness of the earbuds. I have been used to "higher end" and wireless headphones for awhile and have been happy with the clarity on these. They are by no means an audiophiles dream, but in the right use case (primarily calls) the range is adequate and the buds fill the ear nicely (with one additional earpiece option) to be able to hear things clearly with adequate range. I have also been told the microphone is fairly good. Cons: It still has a cord. If you are like me, you have grown very acoustemed to the freedom of wireless headphones. While there are plenty of times when a wired option is fine, it is noticeable if you are not used to it. Ultimately these headphones serve their purpose well. if you need a reliable set of headphones for calls without delay/ interference, pick these up and toss them in your bag.

Great portable earbuds that don't need to charge.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, packaging is what you'd expect, clean and looked great. The box and what was on it was well thought out. The headphones were extraordinarily light, but did not feel cheap. these plugged and played into multiple devices with no issue. Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, M series Macbook Pro, and a few more things. The finish is nice and allows for easy cleaning. I dropped these several times at the gym and on walks with no issues impacting the audio quality. Audio quality I would add are solid. You won't get the deepest basses, but the vocals and everything else are crisp and what you'd expect from Skullcandy. The length of the wire was long enough to not get caught and tangled on everything and still provide adequate reach if your device is in a pocket. If you're looking for a solid earbud to bring with you everywhere (because they don't take a lot of space) and hate the headache of charging, these are going to be the ones you want to buy and not worry about. The color is the only thing that could be improved. I'd love to see some collaborations on these models with artists to be more playful.

Cheap earbuds with mediocre and uninspiring perfor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Skullcandy Jib is one of the cheapest offerings that offers the very very basic. Even with the low price tag, I found it lacking in every aspect while daily-driving for the last week or so. The uniqueness is that these are wired earbuds using a USB-C terminal. So even without a headphone jack, I was able to use my Android phone, tablet and PC without any issue or setup - nothing to pair/sync etc. - just plug n play. However, the uniqueness stops here, and the mundaneness begins. The build is average for the price point. To be honest, if you’re familiar with chi-fi, you’d know that there’s so much better earbuds with greater build and finishes. The plastic casing makes it very lightweight, and it fits pretty well inside my ear canal, but there’s nothing exceptional. The tips (“eargels”) are also again so so. Passive noise cancellation is not bad, especially when I got the fit right. The inline remote is a welcome as it also houses a microphone, so very convenient to jump into calls. However it only has one functional button, so no volume control. With my Android phone I was able to use it for call receive, play/pause, tracking forward/reverse, and also pull up the voice assistant with a long press. Now comes the main part - sound. This is always a very subjective matter. Typically Skullcandy’s are tuned very bass heavy, which is not my ally. I listen to a wide variety of genres and have come to appreciate a rather “clean” sound rather than a sharp V that a lot of people like. However, while other headphones from Skullcandy offered something unique in their tuning, the Jib just had bass. Vocals were not very prominent, and in general I didn’t like listening to music with it for any extended period of time. I believe this can EQ’d a bit, but I don’t see any app offered by Skullcandy to do that, and I didn’t feel like muddling with a PEQ app. But the worst I found is the microphonics. The cable noise was very distracting for my taste - every time I moved around or turned by head I could be near it very very prominently. This is especially distracting when I was exercising and listening to a podcast, it was almost unusable. Overall I am a bit disappointed. There’s so much better solution in the market even at this low price point that this wouldn't make my cut for regular.

Posted .Thanks for taking the time to share such a detailed review it’s clear you’ve spent real time with the Jib USB-C, and that kind of firsthand feedback is always valuable.
We’re glad to hear the plug-and-play aspect worked smoothly across your devices and that the inline mic and call controls added convenience. It’s true the simplicity and compatibility of USB-C wired earbuds are a big part of what makes Jib appealing for some users.
That said, we hear you on the concerns around sound tuning, build, and cable microphonics. Jib is definitely designed to offer a super basic, affordable listening option, and while that works for quick listening or backup use, it’s fair to say it might not stand up to the expectations of those familiar with the broader audio market, especially if you’re into a more refined or balanced sound profile. Your point about microphonics during movement is especially helpful for us to pass along.
Thanks again for your honest insights and for giving the Jib a fair try. We hope you’ll find a better match in our lineup or elsewhere that hits all the marks for your needs.

Doesn't work on all USB devices. Inexpensive.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What I liked: Decent sound for the price. Does the job. Inexpensive. What I didn't like: Cheaply made. Cable is too short. Cable flexibility stinks. Wire covering doesn't 'give' enough. Constantly swatting the cable out of the way. Earbuds are tiny. That can be good or bad. For my big fingers it made it difficult to place in my ears. Cheap earbud tip material. Thin, smooth, falls out of my ears easily. Doesn't provide enough tip sizes. You have 3 total, and they come in a cheap plastic bag. Packaging is on the cheap. On the one hand that is good for the environment. On the other hand there's nothing worth saving to store the earbuds when not in use. Good for the landfill, bad for keeping things organized. Verdict - I consider these spontaneous buy earbuds when you are in need, and there's not much else. They might work for you. I'm not that much of a fan. Too inexpensive to bother returning for a refund. Perhaps that is the point. IMPORTANT! These only worked on certain USB-C devices, they did not work on my portable MP4 devices. Probably because the USB-C ports are for power only. They did work in my Samsung S23 Ultra mobile phone. Be aware they may not work in your devices. From online search results: "USB Audio Class and Audio Alternate Mode USB-C supports audio transmission through USB Audio Class and Audio Alternate Mode1. To determine if a USB-C port supports audio output, check for Alternate Mode (Alt Mode) and Audio Accessory Mode (AAM)2. However, even if a port supports Alt Mode or AAM, the manufacturer may not have implemented audio output capabilities2." Would I buy again. No. Well, yes maybe but only if I was desperate I would because they are inexpensive.

I'm conflicted...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m not too sure about the Skullcandy JIB USB-C headphones. They’ve left me feeling a bit conflicted. I’ll do my best to list some pros and cons and then you can decide for yourself. Pros — — These headphones are inexpensive — and we all know that you tend to get what you pay for. That being said, they produce decent sound and have decent stereo separation. — They have a USB-C plug which (finally) makes them pretty much universal between Android and iPhone…at least newer iPhones. — The in-line mic allows for voice command, forward/back song selection, and play/pause. Whilst in a phone conversation, it’s easy to grab and cover the mic with your fist. Nobody wants to hear you sneeze. — Once inserted, the earbuds are comfortable. No irritation after long periods of time. Cons — — These are probably the most cheaply made headphones I’ve ever encountered. The ergonomics of the individual earbuds makes it so there’s very little to grab ahold of to insert them into your ear canal…at least with my fat fingers. — The plastic used for the mic ‘control box’ just seems cheap — and it’s placed too close to the right-hand bud, just under my jaw bone. In my opinion, this should end up below my chin on my upper chest area. — The cable used is most likely the thinnest gauge possible, and it’s a side-by-side style cable (the kind you can split apart) — instead of a single, dual-core cable with a nice ‘silicone feel’ to it. These headphones easily get in a tangled mess pretty quickly because of this. Also, I'm not sure how they'd hold up in a workout environment. Now, if you can put up with these minor issues, and if you realize going in that you’re not getting audiophile sound reproduction, you might want to go for these. Shoot, at this price point why not get two.

I like’m
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So not expect wireless features from this set of wired earbuds. I repeat, do not expect to get the same experience you get from non wired ear buds from these earbuds that DO have wires going from earbud to earbud to phone. You will be surprised or disappointed or just misled at the very least and it wil be your own fault. Now having said that, if you are still me and understand that these go in you hear and will dangle and flip flop around possibly with your phone if it isn’t tucked away then you will will actually enjoy this headset. I’ve sat in my bed and listen to a podcast. I’ve gone a walk and watched a YouTube video, I’ve jogged and listens to music and the only time I had any issue was the bouncing up and down while running and it wasn’t too bothersome. The sound quality is really good. The phone call feature is good as well. Out and about you get the wind feedback but you can hear and they can hear to an extent nothing groundbreaking. Storing is a slight headache so I bought a cheap pouch and put them in my purse. Problem solved.

A throwback to headphones of the early 2000s
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you remember wired headphones from the early 2000s, this is basically the same thing but with an updated plug to go into a USB-C rather than a headphone jack. On the plus side, there is no app to download or setting to play with in order to get the headphones to work. You just plug them in and you're good to go. The sound is reasonably well isolated based on how these fit in the ear (your milage may vary...). It's good. Nothing amazing, but not bad. If you haven't used wired headphones before, be aware that any contact with the wire will cause vibrations to go straight into your ears, so it is possible for there to be a fair amount of noise, depending on how active you are while wearing. The microphone in the wire is an updated classic. The whole thing is a button so that you can play/pause/answer/hang up. If you hold it for a full second, you get your helper of choice (Google, Siri, whatever). Otherwise, it is definitely a throwback. If you remember people walking around holding the wire up to get that microphone in front of their mouth, that's what you'll be doing again. If you don't, you sound very far away and tinny to those on the other end of the call. Depending on the price and your need, these may be worth having. If for some reason you cannot have blutooth headphones, these are descent. I'd say they're worth about $15 or so...
