I was excited to select these Skullcandy Push Truly Wireless Earbuds in exchange for the earbuds and an honest review. Since I live in North Florida I am able to enjoy the great outdoors year 'round. So, my earbuds must be able to perform in my humid climate. One of the many features of these earbuds is their IPX4 rating, which is both sweat and water resistant. For me an absolute must. For the past three weeks I have used these earbuds everyday, especially while doing my outdoor yard chores. I live on a six-acre, wooded parcel and there is always something that needs my attention, and I love listening to music while I work. So, I am going to begin my review with what I have learned using these earbuds everyday: ***What I love about using these Skullcandy earbuds?*** AUDIO - The audio quality is always the main reason why we purchase any set of earbuds. For the first-time version of Truly Wireless earbuds, Skullcandy has done a credible job. The sound quality is surprising for the value of these earbuds. The low and mid-ranges are emphasized leaving treble and clear voice in the background, but not drowned out. IF you get these buds nestled correctly in your ears, the rich bass at the low ranges is exciting, especially for walks, runs, and physical workouts. However, there is no EQ, or pre-set adjustments, nor any high-end codecs to deliver high resolution, audio quality over Bluetooth. In summary you get bang-up audio quality, overall, in comparison to other earbuds at this price point, IMHO. I have three other, more expensive earbuds, and Skullcandy is equal in features and competitive in audio quality. WooHoo! INTUITIVE CONTROLS – There is a button (about the size of a dime) on each bud towards the bottom of each earbud. The button on each earbud (Left or Right) features ON/OFF controls, Volume, Pairing to Smart Phones, Making and Receiving Phone Calls, Changing Tracks, and my favorite, Activate Voice Assistant, particular to either 'L' or 'R' earbud, or both. See User Manual for specifics. The auto-ON and auto-OFF features by placing the earbuds back in their case, or taking them out is super cool. There is an easy-learning-curve to these control buttons, but, you have to use these buds for several days. I felt comfortable of mastering these controls after four days of constant use. In addition to these simple controls you get 'Voice-Announcements' like when you are connected to BT, Earbuds 'ON', or 'OFF', etc. PAIRING TO MY DEVICES – What I found to be really unique is that these Skullcandy buds not only easily pair to my mobile phones, but, PC, Tablet, Laptop, I-Pad, MP3 Player, Switch, PS4, etc. They pair to any of your devices unlike many other wireless, BT earbuds. They don’t support multi-device pairing and can only connect to one Bluetooth source at a time. They have no registry to remember all of your other devices. Also, keep in mind that there is a latency (lag time delay), which makes these buds not very good for use in any kind of gaming. They use a 4.2 BT Interface, which is as simple as it gets. DESIGN & FIT – The overall design with lightweight plastic body and gel 'Fit' ear hook had fooled me. At first glance these buds look bulky and heavy – far from the truth. Skullcandy provides three pair of gel ear cup inserts for varied fit. Surely, one pair will fit you comfortably, so you can enjoy the robust sound quality of these earbuds. TIP – Install each earbud as far as it will go comfortably in your ear canal for more impressive sound and more secure fit. I was impressed after wearing these buds outside for over four hours each day, and, sweating because of the heat and humidity, they have NOT stressed my ears and remained comfortable to wear. YooHoo! SMART PHONE CALLS – It is super easy to answer and end a phone call. Just touch either 'R' or 'L' button once to answer a call, or end a call. My favorite phone use is through the Voice Assistant feature (SIRI for me to make calls). You can use whatever Voice Assistant on your Smart Phone is available and is enabled, and, or Alexa. It is easy to activate by simply pressing either the 'L' or 'R' earbud three times. Be aware that phone calls are heard over the 'L' ear bud only and are 'mono'. The mic is also on the Left earbud, and is of decent audio quality and clearly heard by your party. RECHARGEABLE BATTERY – I was able to use my Skullcandy earbuds for over five and a half hours before I had to recharge them by placing the earbuds back in their protective case. Fully charged in their case the buds can give you up to twelve hours of listening time. WoW! It took me approximately two hours to fully charge the earbuds in their case using the furnished and latest, USB 'C' cable. You can also charge the case with your PC, laptop, etc, as long as it has a USB Port. The case has four LED Blue Indicator lights to give you the battery status. You can depress the button just under the LED lights for the battery-charge status at any time. ***What I think needs to improve these Skullcandy earbuds?*** FIT – The gel 'FIT' ear piece is too short for my ears to retain them securely (OK, I have big ears). However, I'm guessing I am not alone in this issue. This makes me wonder just how secure these earbuds would be for gym workouts, and running, or jogging? However, my wife says they fit her ears securely enough for physical workouts and running (She has 'normal' sized ears). Skullcandy, please look into redesigning your FIT gel ear piece for Big-Eared folks like me. High Resolution Codecs – High Resolution codecs deliver CD quality sound over Bluetooth. aptX HD and LDAC along with Apple ALAC would enhance the already good sound to great sound quality. Please look into Skullcandy for your next upgrade into Truly Wireless Earbuds. CONTROL BUTTON – The control button on each earbud is too large in comparison to the size of the earbud body. Consider making the button much smaller. It took me two weeks to figure it out. It was so confusing trying to insert the buds into my ears while NOT touching the buttons – YUK! Since the earbuds were 'ON', while I tried inserting them correctly into my ears I inadvertently touched the Control Button and changed the settings 'to who knows what'. I eventually learned to manually shutoff the earbuds when I took them out of their case 'till they were inserted correctly in my ears. Then, I turned them 'ON' - so much easier. . . . CONCLUSION - The Skullcandy Push Truly Wireless Earbuds are a great value for the quality audio and features of these FUN earbuds. I love them because I can use them and enjoy their sound quality outside in the Florida heat & humidity. They have some 'shortcomings', but not enough for me to give them less than five stars. . . . These earbuds would make a great gift for that 'physically-active' family member or friend. They are inexpensive when you consider the multi-functional features and sound quality.

---HIGHLIGHTS--- Excellent Sound Quality, Stable Bluetooth Connection, Automatic Turn On/Off, 6 Hour Battery, Water Resistant, Fits Securely, Bluetooth Version 4.2, USB-C Charging ---DESIGN and CONTROLS--- These in the ear headphones are very lightweight and comfortable to wear. The ear gels hold them tightly in my ear canal which in turn helps them stay put and sound good. With this type of design, it is critical to make sure that the ear gels are tightly inserted in the ear canal. If you don’t establish a secure fit the sound quality will suffer. The hard case and left and right earbuds are an integrated system. The case doubles as an external battery that charges them while protecting and storing them. To charge them simply insert them into the case and close the lid. To charge the case connect it to a charger with the included USB-C cable. It takes about 4 hours to fully charge the case and headphones. The battery last for about 6 hours. If fully charged, the carrying case can provide another 6 hours of charge for a combined 12 hours of charge. Just be aware that after they are drained, you must put them back in the case to charge before they can be used again. After using them for a couple of days I have found the rated battery life to be accurate. They automatically turn on when taken out of the case and automatically turn off when put back in the case. I prefer this design to having to press and hold a button to turn on and off. Once paired they will automatically connect when turned on. The Bluetooth pairing process was very easy. Once paired subsequent connections were fast and proved to be very stable. They are certified as being sweat and water resistant (IPX4). The control buttons that take some practice to learn, but once you get the hang of them they work adequately. However, I prefer to use my phone to control them. The right unit cannot be used without the left one. The left one is the primary and can be used by itself, if you only want to use one, but the right one can’t be used independently. The right unit can only be paired to the left one. ---SOUND QUALITY--- The overall sound quality of these headphones is excellent! The sound is very musical, clear, and full range. They also belt out a surprising amount of hard-hitting bass for such small earbuds! The call quality is typical for Bluetooth compact headphones. When on a call they default to mono sound, which is preferable so there is not an annoying echo. As with all headphones, call quality can be negatively affected by wind noise and other ambient sounds. It uses Bluetooth version 4.2 which offers less compression that the original codec and creates a stable Bluetooth connection. ---BOTTOM LINE--- The Skullcandy Push True Wireless In-Ear Headphones sound great and are perfect for active lifestyles. They are easy to take on the go and sound great for the price. If you are still using the earbuds that came with your cell phone or tablet, then you are in for a treat because the improvement in sound quality will be what I describe as night and day.

Great sound, easy set-up, minor usability issues

There are two aspects of these earbuds that I want to discuss. First is the ease of set-up, fit, and sound quality, and in these regards, these earbuds are just fine. Out of the box, there was about 60% charge in their batteries, so I could use them immediately. Pairing to my phone took about 15 seconds, and I was listening to music. Sound quality is fine. These buds feature what Skullcandy calls a “FitFin,” which is a little curved rubber piece that you snug up against the inside of your outer ear to help hold them in place. This feature, along with the three-sizes of ear plugs available, makes it easy to fit them to your ear comfortably. I had no trouble in this regard. The second aspect is usability, and in this regard, these buds fall slightly, in my opinion. Why? Because everything is controlled by the buttons on each ear bud. The buttons are large, and it’s easy to bump them and thus do something unintended if all you’re trying to is adjust the fit. For example, to turn the buds on or off, you push the left side button for five seconds. To raise the volume, you tap the right side button twice. To lower the volume, you tap the left side button twice. To pause or resume play, you tap either side button once. To advance to the next song, you hold the right side button for three seconds. To go back one track, you push the left side button for three seconds. If a phone call comes in and you want to answer it through the buds, you answer or end the call by tapping either side button once. Got all that? My biggest problem was inadvertently touching the button and thus pausing the play when I was just trying to reposition the bud in one or the other ear. The buttons are large. You have to remember to grab the buds around the edges, and do so carefully. All of the above said, I’m sure one gets used to using these over time, and I would not hold the control aspects of these earbuds against them to any great degree. To my mind, sound quality is what matters most with fit and comfort a close second in any audio for the ears, and in these regards, these earbuds are just fine. Included in the box are three sizes of rubber ear plug so you can choose the best one for your ears, a nice carry case which is also the charger and which also itself can be charged (and thus the earbuds charged from the case) so the listening time available before needing to plug something into a socket is 12 hours, and a USB-C cable. No A/C adapter is included, so if you want to charge these from a wall socket, you will need to purchase that separately. One last comment, and it applies to every pair of earbuds I’ve ever used, including these. Why can’t the manufacturers put a big “L” and a big “R” on the buds? It’s not trivial to figure out which is the left bud and which is the right. Yes, they’re mirror images of each other, so one is left and one is right, but they only way I could be sure which was which was to compare them to the images in the instruction manual. Not a big deal once you know which is which, but still...

I have a few sets of “wireless” (Bluetooth) ear buds, but this is my set of truly wireless ear buds. To be honest, my first worry was losing one. Not having them physically tethered together was always weighing in the back of my mind at the beginning. But after a few uses, I got used to it and was able to enjoy the experience these reasonably priced ear buds provide. Setup in and of itself was a breeze. I have a Galaxy Note and it was nothing to pair and get using. I would highly suggest reading the manual considering each ear bud has one button and depending on how many times you press that button determines what action it will take. This takes a little time to get used to, but once muscle memory kicks in, it’s simplistic. Like I said at the beginning, I have had a few sets of Bluetooth ear buds (wired between the buds), and my concerns was twofold when acquiring this set. 1) What would the battery life be? 2) How would the sound quality measure up? 1) Battery life thus far is surprisingly long! I did not do a running tally on how many hours I used before the first charge, but it was LONG. Much longer than any other headset I’ve used. Charging in the ear bud’s case is quick and easy. Just drop them in and a short time later their charged. As with any other set of wireless ear buds, I always keep a wired pair with me in case of a recharge in the middle of an activity. **HINT: When you hear the low battery chime, you have about 15 to 20 minutes before they completely die.** 2) As for sound quality, I was shockingly surprised. With no equalizer functions, I didn’t expect much. Again, for the price range they’re in, this is a steal for the quality. As with any ear buds, you need to tamper your expectations. These are not going to sound like a wired seat of high end Bose, but they hold their own. The bass is passable. The treble is good. Quality is slightly muffled, but I’ve definitely experienced worse on more expensive sets. Overall, I would recommend these ear buds. They provide a very portable option for listening to music in a variety of activities. They remain in place due to the availability of interchangeable sizes for the ear pieces which assists with comfort as well! Their quick charging and long lasting battery make them perfect for multiple long exercise sessions or even days at work where you want to drown out what is going on around you.

    Great Heaphones!

I have wanted a pair of truly wireless headphones for a long time now. When I received these, I was pleasantly surprised at the size and form factor. These headphones are a cool color, and they come with a case that not only stores the headphones, but also is used to charge them. The headphone case is charged by a USB-C cable. The headphones advertise 12 hours of battery life. I believe that is due to the headphones possibly holding 6 hours of charge and the case holding an additional 6 hours of charge. I have not tested the complete battery life of the headphones. It is hard to tell because immediately upon placing the headphones back in the case, they automatically start charging again. I almost wish it was possible to turn the charging on when you want them to charge. I wonder if this will affect the battery life in the long run due to the constant charging. Pairing these to my phone was easy. After taking them out of the case the turn on and there are instructions with how to place the headphones in pairing mode. Making and receiving calls is also simple. If you push a button on either headphone, the call will answer. The only thing that has taken some time to get used to is the phone call only coming through the left ear piece. When on the phone, the right ear piece remains silent. Audio quality is actually pretty good. While it does not fully hold up to some other, higher quality brands, it is definitely NOT disappointing. The headphones have good volume and great bass response. Changing tracks and volume on the headphones takes a bit of getting used to. The instructions provided list the amount of button clicks that are needed to change tracks, change volume, and answer the phone. The buttons are relatively large and each headphone has one. The only issue I found was, when I reached up to adjust the headphone, I had many times I would accidentally bump or push the button due to the size and placement. This would pause my music or hang up my phone call. I am sure over time I will get used to the button placement, but it is worth noting. All in all, if you are looking for an above average set of headphones that won't break your bank account, these are a great choice!

    Truly wireless with great sound

These are stylish and good quality earbuds that I have several things I like about and just a couple of things that could be different or better: Pros: - Very easy to pair. I paired them in seconds with my iPhone Xs - Great sound. They have plenty of base and can be turned up very loud. - Comfort. These earbuds are very comfortable and secure in your ear. - Easy to turn off. When you turn one earbud off it sends a signal to the other to turn off. - Nice case and charger. I love the feature of the case charging the earbuds for additional access to power without having to bring your cord with you. Also when you take them from the case both turn on by themselves and connect to your phone. - Changing tracks, volume and answering calls can all be done with the buttons on the earbuds instead of going to your phone. - Talking on the phone. One button press to answer, the other party can hear me clearly and has no idea I’m on the earbuds. Cons: - Phone calls only are heard in the left ear. It works just fine, but for volume I wish the sound would be in both ears. - The buttons have a lot of combinations of functionality. The functions work and I appreciate they can do so many things, but there is just a lot of memorization on number of clicks and length to hold click for all of the different functions. - Turning on. If you don’t take them directly from the case you have to turn each earbud on separately and I just wish it was like turning off, where you do it on one and it tells the other earbud what to do automatically. Overall I’m giving them 5 stars due to the fact that they have great sound and I love not having a cord for my workouts to get in my way or stick to me when sweating. My cons are not deal breakers, only minor pet peeves that are nowhere near deal breakers for me.

The Skullcandy Push is an attractive set of ear buds. They come with a charging case; the case holds a charge rather than just the buds. You can be on the go and pop the buds into the case and they will charge without being plugged in. This is a great feature. Plus, I like the size and shape of the case – it’s easy to find in a large purse or bag, even if you are trying to feel for it. It’s easy to pair using the enclosed directions. I tried it with both my Samsung Galaxy and my laptop. I have had mixed results with ear buds in the past because of comfort. These buds are comfortable to wear. I could move around and not worry about them falling out. The battery life is fantastic. They were sitting unused for several days on my desk, not plugged in, just in their case. The case held its charge and the buds were ready to go when I needed them. I would definitely recommend these ear buds.

I have tried and retruned a lot of headphones. I typically have the biggest problem with fit and comfort. Can't do airpods because they fall out. When I found these I finally have a pair I truly enjoy. They come with three ear gel sizes and the sure fin makes sure they stay in. The sound is solid and enjoyable. You can use just one if need be. Volume could be a little louder and who wouldn't want noise cancelling? For the price and compared to others in this category that doesn't exist though so no problem there. People live the color also. The case makes it easy to carry then in backpack and also recharge them quickly. I do wish voice calls were in both ears when wearing both buds. Overall, best in-ear wireless (truly wireless) buds I have owned. Had them all over a month with lots of use during travel and at work. Highly recommended.

The pros: - they stay stuck in your ear and don't come out - charges in the case which is nice - the bass is really nice - pairing is fast and easy - changing tracks is easy. The left side is for decreasing volume and going back a track, while the right side is for increasing volume and skipping a track. Very intuitive. The cons: - Inside the case, they automatically connect/pair, turn on, and start playing music without me turning them on and this can get quite annoying. It keeps automatically connecting so your best option is to shut off bluetooth but you shouldn't have to do this. Overall, I'd still recommend it.

I, by nature, am not an earbud kind of person. I usually find them uncomfortable and cumbersome, but I will say I like the Skullcandy Push Truly Wireless Earbuds. I will be travelling overseas soon and wanted some earbuds to use on the plane that are wireless and comfortable. I love that they come in a charging case so they will not be easily lost. I cannot comment on the length of a charge yet, but I can say they are comfortable and play music incredibly well. I do find all the different directions for changing volume, etc quite overwhelming, but I'm sure it will become easier over time. I look forward to using them on my trip, but so far they are a favorite for me.

I love these earbuds. They are light weight and most importantly they have great sound. Also the storage case not only charges them there is a battery level indicator so you know when you need to plug it in to bring the charge back up. The sound quality for phone calls is also very nice. My friends report they can hear me very clearly. I think these are great quality for the money and would recommend them highly.

Used these the last few days at work and while doing yard work. Really comfortable and good sound, especially for the price. Skullcandy have always been a good dollar/quality value, and these are no exception. Charging case is small enough for pockets and recharges headphones quickly. Overall a good buy. Highly recommend keeping the packaging. It’s a solid plastic box good for keeping all accessories in.
