These headphones are light and highly portable. The white color is nice and soothing. The noise cancelling feature does a great job of blocking out outside noise. Being able to use the Tile application to locate the headphones using bluetooth is a very cool feature.

The noise canceling feature was not as effective while on an airplane. The volume for movies or music was not loud enough over airplane noise.

At this price point, I cannot think of a better noise cancelling headphone. Also, the tile feature is pretty sweet.

In my search for noise canceling headphones I finally purchased the highly rated (and expensive) Sony WH-1000XM3, only to find that even on the smallest setting they flopped off my head. This turned out to be true of the Bose, Beats and down the line until I finally found the Skullcandy Venue. I won't go into a technical review because you can find that elsewhere, but I do want to mention how quickly they connect to multiple BT items and it's great to be able to move seamlessly between them. In all, I am very happy to finally have found a great competitor in the noise cancellation field that is stylish, full of features and fits a small head!

Great headphones, the active noise canceling feature is great removing sounds from outside (although I noticed it adds a very small hiss). I also love that they have a monitor feature, which basically lets you hear the outside (ie. someone talking to you), so you can answer and hear them without taking the headphones off. I didn't notice they have an specific app for this pair, however they paired easy with my android phone. They are also Tile compatible (you can use the app to find your headphones if you misplace them). I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I think the bass are more than enough for me and I have not noticed any distortion when cranking up the volume. One thing though, I have big ears, and after a while they started to hurt a little. YMMV, maybe if you have smaller ears. But it wasn't that bad, it was more of a sign to me to rest a little. Overall, I will highly recommend them, specially the fact of the monitoring function, no more taking headphones off when people talk to me!!

I've been on a quest of sorts for some over-the-ear headphones that have the ability to be wired and wireless at a cost that'sn't totally insane. My kids always like to play with the Skullcandy headphones when we go to the store, so I was immediately curious when I learned about the new Venue set. First off, these things are crazy comfortable. There's plush leather on the cups and the headband. I've worn these while marathoning Netflix while my wife's asleep. Not only did the active noise cancelling drown out her snoring, but never once did my ears or head feel any kind of uncomfortable pressure. The active noice cancelling feature is really nice and there's actually 3 settings: off, obviously, on, again obvious, and then there's a monitor mode which I assume is for music playback. The noise cancellation isn't as strong as say, a premium brand's ear buds, but I chalk that up to the fact that these sit over your ears and not in your ears. The headset itself has my deal-breaker feature which is the ability to use it as a corded set if and when the battery dies (which I've never experienced since I let them charge overnight). The flexibility that having this option gives is undeniable. They also come with a handy integration with Tile - that's right, you can add these to your existing Tile set up and you can use Tile to find these if they go missing - or, more likely in my case, I set them somewhere and then forget. Another nice feature is the case - these headphones are large, and they don't fold up entirely, but they do lay flat and can be carried in the large, but nice case. The case itself also has holders for the aux cord and micro-USB charging cord, so you can take everything you need on the go! If you're like me and you want the ability to enjoy wireless, active noise cancelling sound while you binge Netflix, or want the convenience of connecting these to your PS4 controller - then you seriously need to pick these up. I was able to replace 3 headphone sets that I had because of this one pair. I love them!

Biggest issue overall is it doesn't get loud enough, works great for watching video but for music would like a higher noise volume. The noise cancelling works ok, about what you would expect for the price. Bass could also use a boost. Battery life is great, bluetooth connects fast but doesn't have a huge range, will disconnect if you leave whatever device its connected to and then walk far enough away in your home. The included tile feature is great in case you misplace or headphones get stolen.

Great sound- mid range headset for a descent price

These are new to the market and have all the features you find on competitive headphones but at a descent price. Pros: These are light and comfortable to wear. The quick charge (10 mins) gives you about 5 hrs of usage. Pretty good bass and comparable to the ones I have, but this is at the lower end on the price range to the ones I have. So they are not apples to apples comparison on the features. The sound quality for low and high volume is crisp and clear, doesn't get muffled at high volume. Long lasting battery, lasted about 2 weeks with 3 hours of use per day. Noise cancellation feature is good and I used it on the plane and found it on comparable with the ones I currently have (prices in $200-400 range). It has a button to turn on/off the noise cancellation feature, I found it more effective when using with music but without music I can still hear some background/faint noise. I like the active assistant feature: With the touch of a button, you can use activate the device's voice assistant, Siri, Google Assistant, etc. Compatible with apple and Samsung devices that has blue tooth capability. Haven't tested the "Lost/Found" functionality, believe it has the built in tile technology so you ca track your headphones if you lose them. Cons: I wish they were foldable and didn't see any app to control features on the headset. I can't comment on the durability yet, as I have just had it for 2 weeks now.

I will start by saying I am not an audiophile, but like most people can tell the difference between a good pair of headphones and average pair. I had read some of the previous reviews on these to see if I found the same issues that people had previously found. The biggest complaint I had heard is that the Venue was creaky when you bent or twisted them. My pair has none of that. They are solid and well made while remaining very light. Another complaint was a low hiss when using Active Noise Cancelling (ANC). I didn'tice the hiss, but it's barely noticeable unless you're looking for it and not noticeable at all while playing music or on a phone call. Very forgivable for a headset in this price range. I would also say that my other ANC headset which costs nearly twice as much also has a slight hiss. I played several different styles of music through these, from heavy metal to classical and in each case the sound quality was fantastic. It felt like I was able to hear every detail and never felt that the sound was muddy or overcharged. For me, A good test of a pair of headphones isn't how loud you can make them, but how clear the music is at lower volumes. On that score, these performed extremely well! I was very surprised at how light and comfortable these are. I wore them for several hours straight to see if they would bother my ears and they never really felt uncomfortable. These do clamp down on your ears pretty hard, so I had to move them around at first to find the "sweet spot" over my ears. I have fairly small ears and still had to do some adjusting to get them to feel right as the ear opening on these are a bit small. If you have larger ears, these might not fit as well. One thing I didn't expect from a headset in this price range is Tile tracking. I use Tiles for my keys, so I already had the app. These were added easily and give off a chirping sound when I tested them. It'sn't extremely loud so you may have to wander around to hear them, but it's a great feature to include. Perhaps one of my favorite features is rapid charge. Not only do you get a very long amount of time on a full charge (They claim 24 hours, though I haven't tested that myself), but if you're running low on power, you can get something like 5 hours of use after only 10 minutes of charging. That is awesome! I have used the Activate Assistant feature a couple of time just to test it, and it works flawlessly. I don't use google assistant to often, so this feature didn't mean that much to me, but if you do, it will be very useful. Overall, I highly recommend the Venue. You can spend half the cost of high end ANC headphones without sacrificing much in the way of sound quality, build quality or comfort. For me, these have replaced my high end headphones for travelling and commuting.

I really want to like these headphones. The built in Tile was really exciting since I just bought into that system. The active noise cancelling is really great for my noisy commute on public transportation. I especially like the minimal branding and near microscopic logo. The included cable lets you use them on non-bluetooth devices, or if you run out of battery and your phone is still one of the ones that has a headphone jack. The case that it comes with is very nice and premium feeling and is great for packing the headphones in while travelling. You can even trigger your phone's voice assistant with the press of a button. Unfortunately, this pair just didn't feel right on my head. The earcups are a little too small, so I had to fold my ears up to get them to fit into the cups so that they didn't lay on my ears, which mitigated the uncomfortableness only marginally. The default head size was too small, and the extension part clicks in at certain intervals, but to fit my head I need an two clicks more on the left and 3 on the right, causing a little bit of lopsidedness. The Active Noise Cancelling works almost too well. If it's turned on, and there's no music playing, there's an uncomfortable pressure in my ears, almost like when taking a plane ride. It goes away almost immediately once some music is playing, but there's many times, especially on the train, when I've my headphones turned on but not actively listening to anything, and just don't want to be bothered. Fortunately the ANC can be disabled with a quick button press. The Tile integration is really great, but I've found that with something the size of these headphones it's really difficult to lose them, unlike my keys and wallet. The sound quality of these headphones is decent. The soundstage is relatively narrow, and the mids frequently get lost behind the bass, which itself tends to get muddled, especially with ANC on. The treble does have a sharp edge, almost serrated as it cuts through you. At first I thought that ANC seems to really boost the sound output as even in a quiet room I found that having it switched off caused the sound volume to drop and allowed more sound bleeding out, but also allowing outside sound in, which is important for when you need to have sound cues like when crossing a busy street. I later discovered that I was switching to "Monitor mode" expressly designed to allow you to interact with your environment while your headphones are on, so you don't have to turn off or pause what you are listening to just to yell loudly at the barista oblivious to your own volume. All in all, this is a decent enough set of cans, with some great features, especially for those with noisy commutes. If they were more comfortable for my head, or offered a more studio sounding experience, they'd be my every day carry pair.

Superb ANC headphones in its class

The Skullcandy Venue headphones has been around for three months and there are already reviews in YouTube and other tech sites. That said, I'd like to give my take on initial reviews as they seem contrary to what I've observed in my own headset. First is that there are complaints that the headband of the Venue is creaky. Fortunately, mine doesn't creak when I unflex it. So perhaps, Skullcandy has remedied this flaw in later batches. Likewise, there are also complaints that there is a hiss when ANC is on. My unit doesn't have a hiss but still does have that void feeling whenever you wear ANC headphones. @@@@@@@@ I've an older wired Sony pair and it does hiss. @@@@@@@ Also, there are complaints that there is a degradation of music when ANC is on. There is no discernable degradation in my unit. That said, I'd continue with my review of this model. Overall, the build quality of this headset is pretty decent but I'dn't say premium. For its price range one would expect it to be at this level. As for functionality, ANC quality is up to the level of the Bose CQ series and the Sony XM series. This is quite impressive for a first trey in the ANC spectrum by Skullcandy. When playing music the mids are fair and the highs are a little bit on the upper side. My opinion of the bass level is not as high as some reviewers would point out. But if your preference is for hip-hop and other bass heavy music, then you may find the bass levels to be wanting. If you are into classical music or into bebop jazz, the ANC is a boon to one's ears. I've played Vivaldi's Four Seasons and the ANC definitely helped a lot as there are a lot of quiet moments in this classical piece. Unfortunately, the crispness is not par with higher priced headphones. But I'd still say it's still good. As for the battery life at 24 hours, this is very much impressive as I've been using this for several hours a day and battery life is still strong. I'ven't tested the headphones on wired mode which is rated at 40 hours. But 24 hours is already great for me. It is already a great idea that Skullcandy decided to use male-to-male jacks for wired input and not proprietary ones as these are easily replaceable. Another great feature of the Venue is the built-in Tile feature. Only Skullcandy and Bose have this feature and it can come in handy. I've tried the Tile app and the integration of Tile features is seamless. Having Tiles on my car keys and wallet, I am already keeping this feature on even though I don't expect it use this feature much given the size of the headphones. But who knows? Bluetooth range is great but I've a couple of times experienced the headphones not connecting with my iPhone XR but I suspect it may have been user error. Overall, this is a great pair of ANC headphones. And though it's below the Bose QC and Sony XM series, this is one of the better ANC headphones out there given that this sells for roughly half the price and also being the first ANC headphones by Skullcandy.
