    Best Bond Movie Ever!

    Posted .

(NO SPOILERS - I hate to watch the previews for movies if it is for a movie that I already know I am going to see. They reveal too much. So I would not do that to you.) I am a HUGE & Long Time James Bond fan. Having read all of the books and watched all of the movies. Previous to Daniel Craig my favourite Bond was Sean Connery. I think that the producers of the James Bond movies have really done a good job with Daniel Craig's Bond making him closer to the books. My first impressions after watching Skyfall in the theatre were that this was a totally "Different" type of Bond movie than I had seen before. I love movies and have a degree in Film so very much enjoy a well made movie that takes the audience on a journey of discovery, emotions, and adventure. Do not worry this film does have it's fill of James Bond action but the real value to me was getting a deeper glimpse into the character's psyche. Where he is coming from and why he is the way that he is. How his life experiences on the job and with his meaningful romances and their loss have shaped him. How his loyalty to Queen and Country are unshakeable. Again, I may be tainted as I am a HUGE James Bond fan and a particular fan of the latest recast of the James Bond character with Daniel Craig. However, I have spoken to many of my friends and colleagues who have seen this film and they all unanimously say that this was arguably the best James Bond Movie ever! Men and women who are not particularly James Bond fans enjoyed the movie as it had a good balance of action, drama, and suspense.

    High budget-action-entertainment for 007 fans

As usual Bond does whatever it takes to get the job done and pays later for his mistakes; as do others he cares about. Craig is my second favorite Bond after Connery because his scripts have less of the unimaginable luck and fewer snarky remarks or puns. As M; Judy Dench makes it seem that all MI-6 employees stay rated in firearm use and ready to fight back. Together they go outside bureaucracy to get the bad guys. This story carries elements over from the Quantum of Solace into new places and conundrums for your entertainment. The ladies are hot; action innovative, technology cool...Enjoy.

A cool steelbook for any James Bond collector!

I rank SKYFALL as second best of the Daniel Craig Bond films ( a VERY close second), but all the films are great, so I wound up getting all 3 steelbooks. These are awesome, and I was able to ad all 3 to my Digital Library with the UltraViolet Codes too that were included. This is a great value and I love the artwork on these Exclusive Best Buy Steelbooks!! A great gift for any Bond fan! ~PopCulter I hope they do something similar for SPECTRE when it comes out.

Off the bat I want to say this isn't my favorite bond film. I think it lacks a lot of story and even more action. But, I like this DVD because it brings many behind the scenes footage of the movie. You can't really find that in DVDs these days. Normally they just leave it all for the Blurays. The DVD looks really nice, and the case could have more design to it, but is still good.

    Skyfall: Great Action

Best overall action in a 007 movie. Daniel Craig isn't quite the lady's man that Sean Connery was, but the movie is great.

My personal favorite Bond movie. It has realism, but combined with some of the spirit of the crazier James Bond stories and villains. I had to get it in 4K.

This is one of the best Bond films ever, for my money. It’s grade-A on every level. Steelbook is uber cool and the 4K transfer is, as expected, magnificent. Deakins’ stunning cinematography shines more than ever

    Best Bond of my lifetime

    Posted .

A hard drive containing the names of undercover agents embedded in terrorist organizations is now up for sale and you suffered a near fatal injury trying to stop it. What would it take to send you back into the fray? Money, love, fear? James Bond (played by Daniel Craig for the third time) and fellow MI6 agent Eve (played by Naomie Harris) have tracked a thief carrying a stolen hard drive with confidential information to a train. After an exhausting chase and an epic amount of destruction, Bond and the thief are locked in a physical struggle. With the thief in her sights, Eve (Harris), on orders from M (played by Judi Dench for the seventh time) takes the shot, misses, and sends 007 plummeting to the water below while the hard drive and the thief are lost. M (Dench) is summoned before a government committee where one member, Gareth Mallory (played by Ralph Fiennes), encourages her to retire. While en route to MI6 headquarters, their servers are breached and, while M watches helplessly in traffic, their offices are destroyed killing several agents. Bond, having taken his fall from the tracks as an opportunity to retire, learns of the attack while watching television in a bar. His return to government service is typically atypical. He breaks into M’s home, reports for duty, and asks how he can be of service. Before returning to duty, Bond must submit to both a physical and a psychological exam. Despite failing both, a desperate M puts Bond back in the field, for lack of a better idea. This being a Bond movie, there is, of course, a great deal more to the story. The moment we are introduced to the true villain, Raoul Silva (played by Javier Bardem) marks the Bond series’ return to cinematic greatness. Bardem is truly terrifying and every time you think you’ve figured out his master plan, he shocks you. The introduction of Ben Whishaw as 007’s liaison to Q branch breathes new life into an element of the franchise that I assumed had simply been abandoned with the departure of Pierce Brosnan and the death of the much-beloved Desmond Llewelyn. I understand that many Bond fans saw Quantum of Solace as a failure. Putting aside the fact that I was not one of them, this is easily the best Bond film since Craig assumed the role of lead actor, in my opinion.

The 4k version of this disc was played on a sony x800M2 4k blu ray player and displayed on a sony bravia x950h 65 in tv. The disc supports dolby vision as do both player and tv. Under the conditions described this disc is fantastic. The scenes of the skyline of Shanghi at night show deep blacks and brilliant flourescent colors that make good use of the wide color gamut and color volumn. The detail shown is very good. Lots of clearly visible facial features...wrinkles, pores etc. Skyfall is my favorite of the Daniel Craig set so I'm glad it looks so good.

Great 4K DVD. I just purchased a New Samsung 4K UHD 65" Q90T Q-LED TV and got a Samsung 4K UHD Blu-ray DVD player with a Samsung Q950T Surround Bar System and purchased this 4K UHD Movie as it is one of my many favorites. The ATMOS DTX surround sound and Picture are awesome! Like being in a Movie Theater, especially since theatres have been closed due to COVID-19. The 4K DVD was at a good price too during black Friday sales.

Fantastic bond film! I consider this to the best bond film as portrayed by Daniel Craig along with casino royale a close second. It is filled with all of the elements of a typical bond film but executed to extreme perfection. It has a very sinister and formidable villain portrayed by Javier bardem who really pushes bond to a place he has never gone before and was one of the best villains in franchise history. Highly recommended!

    Skyfall

    |
    Posted .

This 4K UHD release of 2012's Skyfall is a slight upgrade over the near reference level quality of the 2K blu-ray, which is included with digital code. Saturation and details get a boost and while a new Dolby Atmos mix would be most welcomed, the repurposed DTS-HD Master Audio mix is really superb. A great end to the Daniel Craig Judi Dench Bond trilogy.

Great Movie Title and Interesting Plot

Great movie, and what better way to view in bluray. Compared to the prior movies, Skyfall takes you back to James Bond's home. Although it is eerie looking and kind of reminds me of Harry Potter, the movie plot and the villain was good. The series has taken a serious tone but i like it as spy business is serious business. I liked Pierce Brosnan as 007 also but Daniel Craig is just as good.
