It is quieter than the old one and it is smaller in size. No problems so far with this unit and it works well

My only complaint is that it apparently doesn't grind the food down enough for older plumbing metal and may cause clogging. It is really made for newer PVC plumbing systems. However, it is great for smaller food scraps and plate scapings.
