    I didn't like the power cable that came with the dash cam that plugged into the accessory outlet. This is totally concealed.

    Connected the cam directly to a switched 12V connection in my car, so I did not need this wiring kit at all. Yet I am sure it will do the job in case you don't have such a 12V connection available. The wire is long enough to pass by the front window towards the battery section of most cars, or better still, the contact switch.

    This hard wire kit enabled my installer to completely hide the wires instead of having them hang down from the camera and plug into the power socket. Whenever I start the car the camera automatically comes on, then shuts off when the car is turned off. This was a relatively cheap add-on for great convenience.
