This is truly the smartest kettle you can have in the kitchen. Setup only takes a few seconds. Controlling through your app on the smartphone, select exact boiling temperature, set alarms, connect to Alexa...it does it all. I can get the kettle boiling as soon as I pull into the driveway. Nice work Smarter!

On initial use this Kettle worked great but on a few occasions I noticed it would not switch off if half filled. I have set to lower temperature via phone app but this has not helped and today I have decided to throw it away as it is hazardous. It did not turn off and filled my kitchen full of steam to the point of the cord getting extremely hot. Will not purchase another.

I bought this kettle not only because it is smart, but also because it has super power 3000w written in description on website. So, I expected faster boiling than ordinary kettle can provide. But actually this kettle has 1500w power as most electric kettles in the USA have, with no difference in time of boiling. This mistake should be corrected in description. All other properties as described, generally it is a good product.

I first contacted customer service 6 days after purchase and setup were complete with issues about the app not letting me save a Wake-up routine as described in the video tutorial. That has turned out to be an email exchange marathon which has gone on up until now 16 days later with the last contact being with Smarter's Head of Customer Service asking blankly if my issues had been resolved; mind you this was only after the initial CSR respondent had said they were escalating my case to manager level after 12 email exchanges with the initial CSR.
In the first emails I was asked:
for my Phone model - LG
for my operating system- Android 7.0
for the device - kettle 3.0
Next, a Tech developer comes in the thread and tells me I have to have this and that enabled which I had already confirmed multiple times and then the Tech Developer says how I'm not using the right version of their app and that I should be running version 1.2.23??? REally, this is a 3.0 kettle and I'm supposed to be running a GEN 1 level app which you can't even download from anywhere anymore. The photos and videos sent as an example as to how it's done are of an Apple phone; the apps don't even look the same from apple to android.
Then after I respond to the inquiry on email thread day 6, as to whether the Tech Developer has fixed my problem; I responded with, "No still waiting." comes a most disturbing event.
That very next day, a Friday, I'm awoken by a flurry of notifications from the app; like every 5 seconds for a full minute.
On the evening of my first email after much trouble I had managed to get a Wake-up time to program by altering one function at a time and saving, then another feature and saving, then another and so on and it had worked the last couple of days BUT I'd positioned the boil-on switch to off Thursday night before bed as I didn't need to have it on for the following day, yet here it is beeping and boiling.
That same Friday in the afternoon I received an email saying that they hope that they have fixed my problem and that it seems that the boil-on switch was not in the ON position so they SWITCHED IT ON FOR ME; they reached into my phones settings on their app and changed them without prior notification to me by any means; that they could and would change the settings on my phone was so scary that I complained about it; they denied that they did it in time for the wake-up to initiate at 4 a.m. EST but it did and they didn't deny that they'd gone in and done it.
Since I complained about them reaching into my phone, the Desired temperature in the Product Settings on the app has been disabled so I can't set a preferred temperature for a manual boil; it's stuck on 32F. Matter of fact I can't initiate a boil from the app at all excepting the one that was so painstakingly set as described above.
When I tried this morning to initiate a boil by the button on the base the kettle came on for about 10 seconds then switched off. In order to get a hot pot of water this morning, I had to uninstall the app and use the base button. Once I had the pot boiled I re-installed the app and proceded to check that the temperature reading of 201F on the app was by my very accurate infrared thermometer only 186F.
Also today after all the trouble I went to for a hot pot of water I smelled the scent of burning wire when I took the pot off the base.
If you do buy this product I wish you better luck than I have had.

Broke after 3 weeks, company support non-existent

I really liked the kettle until it broke after 3 weeks but support said they don't have any stock in the USA and after several more weeks then asked me to take it back to Best Buy, which has a 14 day return policy. I let them know it was no longer under Best Buy's return period but the company no longer replied to any of my emails or calls. Steer clear, they shouldn't sell in the USA and then not honor their warranty.

The main issue I have with this kettle is that the temperature is not accurate. It is the first day and constantly reads the water temperature to be above boiling.
If you have a baby, formula mode does not work also because the temperature is not accurate. It never tells you when the water has cooled down.
