Sorry had to return it do not work on darker and tan complexion overall the machine is amazing powerful be wonder if you make a machine 1-10 setting adjustable for anyone to use I get lazor no problems my tech set it for 3/5 out of 10

I must admit that I was a bit skeptical about what this device claims to provide. In the past, I have paid for expensive laser hair removal treatments on different areas of my body. First first area I treated, years ago, was successful. The second area was not a good experience. After the 3rd treatment, the lady burned my skin to where it blistered. Needless to say, I never paid for another hair removal treatment again. Enter the Smooth Skin Pure. I figured that since I'm in control of the treatments, I can stop if there are any adverse reactions. On the other hand, I thought, is this really going to remove my hair? IT DOES!!! It has been a little over 6 weeks since I started using the Pure device. I shaved my legs as good as possible, trying to get rid of any stubbles. I then used the Pure on a small strip, the length of my legs. I wanted to be able to see the difference in the hair growth. I did this once a week for 4 weeks, on the Power Mode setting. At the time of writing this review, I have not shaved for 2 weeks. The strip where I used the Pure has no hair growth, compared the rest of my legs where there is very visible hair. As I mentioned, I have only used the Power Mode setting, since this is my legs and that area tends to be less sensitive than other areas of the body. I figured I might as well go all in. The pain level was tolerable because it's quick. It's like a hot rubber band snapping your skin. Like it said, the feeling is quick and does not last. Doing the strip up my whole leg, both legs, takes less than 5 minutes. I did not experience any lasting negative affects. Needless to say, I will be treating the rest of my legs. In fact, I will also be treating my teenage daughter's legs as well. I highly recommend this device.

Amazing! Smooth skin pure IPL hair remover is so good, it did take a bit to figure it out & letting the hair grow back enough to use smooth skin hair remover after waxing was the worst part, but once I was ready it was quick to use & I didn’t think it was painful just a quick zap, I used it on my boyfriends thigh a sight no one can see to test the different hair texture cause it’s thicker then mine, my hair is thin on my legs & I tried on my sister who has thicker but light colored hair, it was used on our legs & armpits. It has 10 settings make sure to do a tester spot 1st & it has 3 comfort levels I started low then worked up over the last few weeks we used it 3 times a week, started to notice a difference on my legs after about 2 weeks my sister & boyfriend about 3-4 weeks, skin feels soft & I haven’t had my leg hair grow back still feels as smooth as when you 1st shave, my sister has definitely seen a difference her hair has thinned out & slowed down on growing it has taking longer cause her hair is thicker & my boyfriends spot on his leg has been smooth. Make sure to read directions & recommendations it can’t be used on certain skin tones, I’m covered in tattoos so I tried a non noticeable spot 1st to make sure it didn’t mess up my leg art but it was fine. I recommend getting the Smooth skin hair remover but will also need someone to help you with certain spots you can’t reach like back of legs & armpits to do a better job. Also I recommend getting protective glasses not included the flash of light is bright & not good for your eyes. I was lucky enough to have a pair already

I really found this device to be as described and certainly worked as it should! I had light hair on my legs and under my arms so decided that's where it would be used. The first night I used it I found it to be somewhat uncomfortable but had tried it full strength in the Power Mode (there are 3 different modes - Gentle, Power and Speed). I felt like I had a sunburn that night and the next day but it went away. Since you use it once a week the next time on my legs I used the Speed Mode which is the lowest power mode and it simply glides along, especially over larger areas. You can also use this mode for maintenance which basically is what I am doing now. I also interchange with the Glide Method on my legs as it's for larger areas. There is also a Stamp Method that I use under my arms and you activate it by pressing and releasing the Activation button, then removing from your skin before carefully re-applying to the next treatment area. It comes with a very comprehensive manual as well, which is most helpful in determining how to use properly. All in all this is a powerful device that really works! I will not be needing to buy expensive razors again. It is high quality and I love the way it looks! The black and gold coloring is awesome and it fits nicely in your hand. I do not look at the flashing light however and either wear my sunglasses or keep my eyes shut. It's pretty bright. I can highly recommend this product without reservation! If you are looking for a hair removal device, this is a winner!! It's keeping my hair away and that's all I ask for!

Terrible it does not work would not recommend unless looking to burn your skin feels like lighting a lighter over it.

As someone who's received laser hair removal treatment, I can say this is fantastic! I am so happy to have this device! It just works! The areas I've used it on: face, legs, and under my arms, I can see a noticeable difference. There is less hair coming in and what is is patchy. All hair has different growth cycles so it will take some time to get it all, but now the smooth skin pure will save me hundreds, if not thousands of dollars by doing it myself at home! If never used or had hair removal before, the sounds and feeling may startle at first. It can be warm and at some places a bit hot as the button is pressed. Don't let that sway you if you're thinking about buying this product. To me, this is exactly like going to a spa and having it done by someone else and now I never have to spend that kind of money again! I would absolutely recommend this device to anyone interested in long term hair removal.

I was skeptical that a home hair removal system would work. I've thought about getting professional hair removal before so I thought this was worth a try first. I don't have thick hair but it is darker even though I'm pale. I started on a small area to test before I jump into my legs. I chose my arms. It took a little getting used to moving the machine the right amount between flashes to make sure I was covering the area without overlapping the flashes but it's a fairly quick process once you get the hang of it. I tried to take before and after pics but my hair was lighter after one use and with continued used now I'm seeing much lighter hair and the regrowth seems to be slower and less each time. As long as you are doing the prep properly there shouldn't be any pain or burning, it's more of a quick heat and done. I'm loving the results on my arms in only six weeks, I'm about to start treating my legs now for summer. This is a great alternative to pricey hair removal and my skin reacts better to this than it does waxing.

This takes a while to really work, but after seven weeks, I'm seeing progress. For reference, my hair is lighter brown and my skin is very pale. the areas where my hair is darker and thicker showed much thinner growth after a few weeks, thinner and lighter areas took a little while longer to show much improvement. I'm only using this on small areas because it does take some time and honestly, there is a little bit of discomfort involved. I've had to use the lowest settings to manage the pain, and that probably impacted the amount of time it took to see results. If you have a higher pain tolerance, this might work faster for you. If you hate shaving or if you have thicker hair, this product can be a game-changer. I definitely recommend this if you're looking for an IPL device.

I've been testing this out for the past 6 weeks (halfway through the recommended 12 treatments for optimal results). First I'll speak on actual use... The longest part of each treatment isn't the actual use of the IPL system...it's the prep. You have to thoroughly shave the areas you plan to use this prior to each treatment. The actual treatment time literally takes less than 10 minutes for me (full legs, upper lip, and chin area). It's a virtually painless experience. At most in the beginning I felt little hot zaps (not hot as is burning but just a quick flash of warmth). After the first treatment you notice it less because you know what to expect. I occasionally noticed a slight tingling sensation that would subside after a few minutes but nothing lingering and nothing painful. I also did not experience any redness or irritation after treatments. After reading the booklet in it's entirety I did have some concerns but if you follow the directions completely and don't try to skip steps you should be fine. Also make sure you do the test patch as advised 24 hours in advance of you first use to make sure your skin reacts well. For anyone with concerns of if it will work for your skin coloring, thankfully this system makes it foolproof. It will not fire any IPL lights if the area is too dark (which may be frustrating to WOC with the deeper coloring but I did not have any issues on my coloring which is in the 4 range). The sensors also automatically adjust the light level based on the coloring of the area so you don't have to wonder if you are using the right strength. Now for the results I've experienced so far.... The booklet suggests that most will see noticeable results in as little as 4 treatments but this isn't to be confused with complete hair removal within that time. By the time I got to the 4th treatment I could honestly say that I noticed less hair growing back but I knew I wasn't remotely close to the results I was hoping to experience. This let me know that this is a treatment that you have to have patience and consistency with. I am happy with the progress of the treatments so I feel confident that this system is worth the investment as long as you're willing to stay consistent with the steps. So far, the only negative I can see is that for those with deeper skin coloring may not be served with this. Also, for areas on your body that may have darker coloring from prior shaving (such as underarms) may be difficult or impossible so for some individuals this may be frustrating because you won't be able to achieve the same results everywhere you would like to. For that situation a different system that will work for all skin colorings may be a better option. But overall, I feel like this is a good option for anyone wanting to achieve smooth, hair-free skin for extended periods.

The Smoothskin Pure IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, is designed to break the hair growth cycle, and reduce or eliminate the need for other types of hair removal. Keep in mind this is a long term investment. I know I can continue to buy shavers, tweezers, waxing supplies, etc. and those are less expensive, but the costs add up over years of use. I think this item is comparably priced for this type of product, especially considering the quality of the product and the end results. I was impressed with how easy it is to use and the difference it made in reducing hair growth. It’s lightweight too; I expected it to be heavier, but it does the job without tiring out my hand, even in the early stages. The Smoothskin system consists of what the manual calls the handset and base unit, connected by a sturdy cable, and the power cable, which plugs into the base unit on one end and into an outlet on the other. There is also a small user guide. I like that it explains how it works, and the progression of results. There are also a lot of precautionary statements that are important; this product won’t work for everyone, but will work for most users and most areas selected for hair removal. Some users might experience side effects; I didn’t have any issues with using mine and didn’t have a reaction to it either. The guide advises you to test a small area before moving on to a larger area. This is common with all sorts of products to avoid adverse reactions. I appreciated the attention to detail here, since it is my first time using something like this. I’ve always wanted to try one, and I am glad I went with this product. This is a very effective device- it brings the salon experience home. It’s quicker than I expected, I thought it would take longer for each before I got started. You do have to shave well first. The IPL works under the skin on the lower part of the hair so that it won’t keep growing out. This is a ‘smart’ or ‘intelligent’ device because it senses skin tone and adjusts the intenstiy of the pulse accordingly. I don’t know how to prove it does that, but it works on slightly different skin tones (body parts are not all the same shade!) and with different hair. It worked really on all the body parts I tried it on, although I did have to go over some areas. It’s possible to miss very small areas, so I did find I would have to pay very close attention to making sure I’m getting the whole area with each weekly treatment. It has 3 modes, depending on user preference. I mostly used gentle and then speed as I got used to it. There’s kind of an adjustment, at least with me, to find the best way to use it. It’s not hard though; it walks you through it and there’s a website for the product if you need more info. I don’t have really coarse hair, and I’m fairly light in skin tone; I have seen such a change over time as I have continued to use this. I feel like I’m doing less work on hair removal and maintenance, and not stressing about it any more. After 6 weeks, I am very pleased with the results. I do wish it came with a pouch or case of some kind, but that’s more of an observation not a complaint. I don’t have any complaints, as it did what I expected it to and anticipate it will continue if I keep using it. I’m glad I have a better option to the constant battle with hair where I don’t want it, without having to go somewhere and pay to have it done for me; not having to buy any other products is also a plus. I recommend this device for taking care of hair removal at home.

This laser is amazing! Quick results that last. I recommend purchasing.

I purchased at BestBuy in mid-August 2021 and began immediately using weekly as directed. Took me a couple times to figure out the best method, but once I did, I was able to breeze through the weekly treatments in about 10 minutes or less. At 6 weeks, there was no hair growth at my armpits and I have not needed to shave them again to date. I also used on my toes, once I figured how to bunch my toes together to get the laser to fire (that was a challenge, but can be done) and it was effective in that area. At 8 weeks, there was no hair growth at bikini line. As of today, November 2, there is still some hair growth on my lower legs, but it is so VERY minimal. I have not shaved my legs in a week and the growth that is there doesn’t even compare to one day of not shaving prior to beginning the laser treatments. Before purchasing, I compared the cost of having just one “small area” treatment done professionally in a salon and the cost would have been the same or more as the purchase of the SMOOTHSKIN PURE and I would have had to go to a weekly appointment (a 35 minute drive one way) for 8plus weeks. I decided to take a risk (after reading lots of mixed reviews) and make this purchase. I am 100% happy with my results. I was aware before purchasing that this is not very effective on fine, light hair but still intend to try it on my lower arms. I purchased at full price (something I rarely do!!) because I had spent so much time researching and was ready to begin this process and didn’t want to wait for a sale. It was worth paying full price, but an even greater deal if you can purchase on sale!! If you purchase and don't have great results, you can pass it along to a family member or friend to try. I'm sure the results vary based on each individual, but for me, absolutely worth it!!! My final deciding factor was that this does not ever need replacement lights or bulbs, as some units do. It continues to work at the same strength for the life of the product. Since I have only had for a couple months, I cannot say how long it will last, But I have definitely gotten my money's worth at this point. Once I am done, I will be passing along to my nieces.

I need to leave a review for this product because it changed my life. I have light skin and dirty blonde hair. I have been using my Pure IPL device for about 4 months. It takes me about 3-5 minutes for each treatment. I was very skeptical when I began using this product because I've tried laser hair removal at professional salons in the past and it was unsuccessful. I am thrilled to report THIS PRODUCT WORKS! I can now go over a month without shaving. I'm still planning to use the product once a month for maintenance but that's a small price to pay for not having to shave 2-3 times per week.

My husband bought me this for Christmas. I've had PCOS my whole life and one of the side effects from PCOS is very unsightly chin hairs. I had to shave my face for 17 years, my chin and my mustache area. Within 5 weeks of using this device they were 60% gone. I followed the 12 weeks and now I only need to do maintenance every now and then. Thank you GOD for this thing!!!!

There is a mild reduction of hair growth at 6 weeks. I definitely still need to shave. If your goal is to reduce the amount of hair than this is a good product for you. If you are looking to remove the hair and not have to shave between treatments, from what I saw, it doesn’t work to that level.

As a new user to SmoothSkin and IPL I wasn’t sure if it could live up to its claims and before and after results. After using it for 6 weeks, I’m totally sold. The device is quick and easy to use, I like that it comes with a gentle feature, which I used on my first time as I wasn’t sure what to expect. I guess everyone is different but I just experienced a slight warm sensation after using the device on my legs. I’ve now started treatment on my bikini line and underarms. I started to notice small results from my 3rd treatment, with my leg hairs feeling finer when they started to grow back. From my 4th & 5th treatments the hair reduced dramatically and started to grow back a few days later in small patches which was a new experience to me after always having prickly legs the day after shaving. I’m looking forward to continuing my treatments.

I wasn't sure of this product but decided to give it a go anyway. I read the instructions carefully and started my treatments, shaving my underarms and legs before use. I would not say it hurts - more like a hot flash against the skin but this quickly disappears. I found the first two weeks tough because I saw no real change. Then come week 3 I noticed I had less hair growing back, especially on my underarms. I'm so excited to see what happens over the next few weeks. 100% recommend!

This product was my first attempt at at-home hair removal and I'm so happy I purchased it! The design is beautiful - makes me still feel like I'm at the salon. While it is an expensive purchase, it pays for itself with all the time and money you save by removing hair at home. It was very easy to use and had great instructions in the box. Far less painful than waxing. I would highly recommend SmoothSkin to anyone looking to remove unwanted hair.
