I got this product for my wife and she loves it. She's used it once a week for the past six weeks. The first use of the SmoothSkin Mini took about ten minutes. The device got fairly warm and had a faint odor from use. Nothing too terrible, just noticeable. And no zapping pain like other devices she's tried - which has been extreme in some instances. Major, major benefit here. Plus, it covers a large area in a single path even though positioning the Mini can be a little tricky at times. Second treatment, no odor and did not get nearly as warm. No skin discomfort at all. Took less than ten minutes. More importantly, she noticed a visible reduction in hair growth even at this early stage. Third treatment, no discomfort, warm in a few areas and the process became easier to manage. Significant reduction in hair growth on all treated areas, but especially on underarms and legs. Week four, almost no hair growth at all! She also noticed that the device might be getting a little warm at times because she was accidentally covering the fan on the Mini with her thumb. Weeks five and six: again, almost no growth and could probably get by without using it. The instruction manual recommends continuing through twelve weeks, as hairs on different parts of the body grow at different rates. That may not be completely necessary here, but all in all that's a good problem to have. While the fact it's corded may bother some, the fact that it's not going to run out of batteries is a bonus. Also, note that the whole thing is VERY bright when on. You will want to look away. Take the safety precautions in the manual serious! (Including the stuff about not using it on tattoos/darkly pigmented places.) All in all, very satisfied with the SmoothSkin Mini. The lack of pain in the process can't be overstated. That's a real barrier for a device like this for some folks and it's a non-issue here.

We tested this out in my family over the last 8 weeks and have had impressive results for much less than comparable services cost at hair removal offices. We were willing to try it out given the online reputation of the company: I was highly skeptical of using an OTC laser on my skin and knowing that this is a trustworthy company was necessary for me to be comfortable trying it out. I like the size of this device, its small and portable and I'd liked the weight in my hand and it didn't feel cheap. It's a little tricky to actually use though given that its corded and you will most likely plugged in by your bathroom sink while you maneuver around your body with it in the smallest room of your house. Its fantastic that there are unlimited flashes so that once you've purchased the removal system you can be as hair as sasquatch and (eventually) get the whole job done. The actual process of removing the hair can be very time consuming, every single hair follicle needs to be zapped, after its shaved. If you are very sensitive then it can be more intimidating to do the device yourself rather than having another person in control. I personally find it nice being able to handle this in the privacy of your own home rather than having others work on your skin and can say that this device is an option if you're interested in hair removal but are uncomfortable with the thought of sitting for several hours as someone works on you in a professional setting. My wife tried this on her legs and said that her regular extensive waxing is quite more painful. Laser hair removal was also less awkward than the home waxing kits we resorted to in COVIDworld. Additionaly tought from my fairer half: My wife has a large butterfly birthmark on her lower leg that we avoided testing this product out on. You probably want to check with your doctor before using it anywhere that has birthmarks as well. So the biggest question I'm sure everyone is wondering is does it work? I found my results to be exactly as advertised: not every follicle I zapped is hair free but the fair that has grown back is much lighter and weaker than before I used, my back hair is barely noticeable after using this and I'm sure with continued treatment it would be gone. Keep in mind that this was 8 weeks after treatment, zapping every follicle. So Yes this is an affordable inhome replacement option to professional treatment, provided you have the patience and commitment to do it. My biggest Nit was I wish there was a little more details about things like birthmarks and other dos and dont of use included in the instructions

    Painless, effective, permanent hair removal

The SmoothSkin Pure Mini IPL Hair Removal System is my first experience with permanent hair removal, and I have so far used the device according to the manufacturer recommended once per week treatment for 6 weeks. First and foremost, this device isn’t designed for everyone, for example, if you have very dark skin the treatment may be infective or even unsafe. Thus the device has a built-in skin tone detector that will only allow it to operate when your skin tone falls within the safe pigmentation range. IPL is also not very effective at removing red, white, gray, or blond hair. There are also very specific guidelines on the areas of the body where it can and can't be used, and the manual warns against using the device over scars, moles, recent tans, birthmarks, privates, areolas, or any skin conditions. Men should be aware that it states specifically not to use the device on the face, jaw, or neck due to density of the hair follicles, though this same exclusion does not apply to women. With this in mind, the areas that I decided to try this device on were on my abdomen and legs, where I have several stray hairs either growing solo or in sparse clusters. The device itself is fairly simple, consisting of a lightweight handheld plastic “wand” about the size of a large computer mouse, and a permanently attached power brick, the size of a laptop charger, with a power cord about 10 feet long. The unit also includes a small magnetic precision-head adapter that attaches to the front and reduces the treatment window size, so you can target smaller areas like the upper lip, fingers, and toes. A drawstring velvet storage pouch is provided as well as a silicone slip-on cover to protect the lamp while the device is not in use and during travel. Using the device is pretty simple, though there are a number of safety precautions to adhere to. One particular warning is that the bright light pulse could potentially damage your eyes, so it’s recommended not to look directly at the light, and only activate it when there is sealed skin contact to prevent any of the light from escaping the treatment area. For this reason, the device shouldn't be used around your eye, and the manual even recommends looking away with each pulse. However, I found that to be cumbersome, especially when you are trying to treat a large area quickly since you can’t continually monitor the position of the device. Instead, I chose to wear a pair of IPL safety glasses that I purchased separately. A patch test is recommended to see if your skin will have any reaction to the treatment, and you should monitor the test area after 24 hours. To prepare for treatment, shave the area to be treated, wash, and allow it to dry. The device powers on as soon as you plug it in, and it takes a few seconds to warm up the lamp. A fan inside the unit runs constantly in order to keep the internal components cool and there is no power button, so you’ll need to unplug the device when you are finished to turn it off. Once the lamp is charged and ready, you must place the tip of wand flat against your skin with full contact against the treatment window. If the blue sensor detects a suitable skin tone, the light above the activation button will illuminate white with 1-5 LEDs, then simply press the activation button; the unit will flash a bright pulse of light briefly. The LEDs indicate the intensity of the light that will be delivered, as darker skin tones will receive less light while lighter skin will receive more (in order to prevent darker skin from absorbing too much of the light and causing damage). If the LED is red or no lights illuminate, this indicates that the skin is too dark or the placement of the handset doesn’t have enough contact, and the unit won’t operate. I found that the activation button occasionally doesn’t trigger when pressed, requiring a second press to fire. For me, the unit was able to deliver a full-strength light pulse in the targeted areas. It feels a bit like a tiny static shock or touching the side of a hot coffee mug for just a second. There is a hot pinch sensation that fades pretty quickly. The other thing you may notice is the faint smell of burning hair. Between flashes, the device needs to charge for about half a second. Then you can pick up and move the device to the next section of skin (stamp method) while trying not to overlap or leave gaps between sections -- though that’s easier said than done. You can optionally use the glide method, by holding down the activation button, and the device will flash once every half second, so you can continuously sweep the device over your skin and time the flashes with the movement to treat a new section of skin each time. This allows you to treat large areas of the body quickly. I preferred the stamp method because I had a small area to cover and it was easier to ensure no spots were missed or stacked. Note that the unit will get hot during use, especially the glass window which needs to cool down after being shut off before it can safely be touched. If the flashes are painful or you want a gentler pulse, you can turn on ‘Gentle mode’ by pressing the smaller feather button, indicated by a single blue LED. I found gentle mode to deliver a less intense light pulse that didn’t sting much at all, but remember that it’s delivering less power and is less effective overall so may require you to continue treatments over a longer period of time. You’ll also need to avoid sun exposure of the treated areas, which for me wasn’t a problem because it was all covered by clothing. In my case, since there wasn’t a lot of hair in the treatment areas to begin with and some of those hairs were very fine or short, you can really tell the difference after only 6 weeks of treatment. It also helps that my hair is very dark, nearly black, as it can better absorb the light energy. I waited a full week after the 6th treatment (as you are required to shave each time) to allow the remaining hair to grow back and found that of the 20-30 follicles I started with in each respective treatment area, only about half a dozen remained and were either growing very slowly or finer and thinner in texture. Further results can be obtained by continuing treatments up to 12 weeks and then doing touch up treatments as necessary. I also targeted several lone hairs on my torso which haven’t grown back in weeks. As an unexpected side benefit, some dark spots that used to be around several hair follicles also lightened or disappeared after treatment giving my skin a more even and smooth appearance. Overall, I found this device to be easy to use and effective on my skin/hair type on the areas of my body that I’ve used it on, and I’ve been happy with the results so far. I was a tad disappointed that the device couldn’t really be used everywhere on the body, but I understand these limitations are due to safety measures. The device is lightweight and portable and treatments are quick and painless. While the precautions and restrictions are many, if you follow the directions carefully, it can be used safely and can permanently remove unwanted hair in some of the most common areas of concern.

Smooth skin, and they mean it. I have the first generation, full size SmoothSkin Hair Removal System and love it. The one problem is, it’s harder to get the larger head onto small places, like the upper lip. The mini version solves that problem but still offers all of the power and effectiveness of the full size model. I freaking love it! I have had good amount of professional laser hair removal done on my face (PCOS – if you know, you know) and armpits in particular. If you’re comparing the SmoothSkin hair removal system strictly to professional laser hair removal, you MIGHT be disappointed. For one thing, it takes longer. With professional treatments, they run the laser over your body in smooth motions and it covers a lot of the area in a short amount of time. With SmoothSkin (like most at home systems), you have to push a button every time you want the laser to flash. It’s not the best (again in comparison to professional treatments), but there’s a reason those are professional. You have to be trained for that so you don’t get burned. No training required here and of course the cost of the SmoothSkin is a fraction of the cost of multiple professional hair removal treatments. Now, in terms of actual hair removal, this thing does work! It takes several treatments and if you’re like me with PCOS, you’ll never be done with the treatments. However, I have a friend who doesn’t have PCOS and occasionally needs some touchup, but for the most part, her hair stays gone. Another important comparison to make is between the SmoothSkin and other at home treatments. Believe me, I’ve tried them, and they are not nearly as effective. SmoothSkin actually does what it says it will AND it does not run out of flashes. With a lot of other models (at least some of the earlier ones I tried), you had to replace the flash cartridge after a certain number of uses, which of course costs more. The SmoothSkin does not have that problem, so what you pay up front is the only cost for the life of the product. And I’ve had my other SmoothSkin system for about two years now and it’s still going strong. Lastly, I love the size of this mini version. If anything, it’s actually more effective than the first gen models. However, I find it’s also easier to hold and causes less fatigue in my hands when I’m doing large areas (like my legs). Honestly, I can’t recommend this product enough. It’s worth every penny and has made my life living with PCOS so much better.

SmoothSkin Pure Mini IPL Hair Removal System Included- Mini device, precision head, velvet travel bag, manual I currently own the Smoothskin Pure IPL system so I am very familiar with how it works and I was so excited to get the Mini system. It's the same concept as the full size- a device to give you professional quality hair removal. In order to use it, you must prepare the area by washing it, shave the area and then make sure it's completely dry. When you plug the Mini in, it will automatically start in Power Mode, which is the highest setting. There is also a Gentle Mode for more sensitive areas. Place the sensor on the area to be treated. It must be in full contact with the skin. The blue indicator light will be constantly on when the power is on and when the device is good to flash, the semi-circle light on the top will illuminate. Press the button to administer the treatment. Move the device over to the next area and repeat. The precision head works to help work on smaller areas but making the treatment window smaller. It easily can be added or removed during the process. There are two different methods when using it. The stamp method is when you press and release the button before moving to the next area. The glide method is when you continuously hold down the button and slide the device along the area. It works really well on large areas like legs. . There are definitely some similarities and differences between the full size and the Mini. The Mini is smaller and lighter, which makes it easier to hold and handle while using. Unlike the full size one, I like that it came with a nice storage/travel bag to hold everything so it's convenient to bring along on trips. That way you can easily keep up with your weekly maintenance. The Mini does not have tiny indicator lights on the side which makes it more difficult to tell if the device is sitting on the skin properly. Depending on where you're using it and the angles and such, it's impossible to see the top of the device so the side lights are so helpful. I personally use the device on my underarms, legs and bikini area. I enjoy that it keeps me looking hair free with very little maintenance. I don't feel like the Mini is as powerful as the full size device. There are times when the button isn't as reactive as I'd like when I pressed it. I'd have to press again so that it would fire. I also use the glide method on my legs since I've been using the hair removal treatment since the beginning of this year and it doesn't work well in the glide mode. It doesn't rhythmically flash so it's hard to move the device at a steady pace since I feel like it's not hitting all the areas. It works better in stamp mode. I will bring this along so I don't have to skip my weekly treatment if I ever travel but I prefer the full size Smoothskin on a regular basis for better results. The Mini is definitely a mini version.

Smoothskin Mini IPL hair remover does what it says. Instructions are clear and easy to understand. Comes with 2 comfort modes and three intensity levels for sensitive areas and more stubborn thicker hair and an attachment for precision it comes in handy for smaller spots. It has an automatic detection for skin tone so it measure what light level is needed. I am covered in tattoos so I did try it first on a small part of a leg tattoo that could easy be fixed if it damaged the color of it but had no issues using it on them. I love the compact size but I do wish it was wireless so I could use it anywhere in a more convenient comfortable spot in my house rather then plugged in the cord is long enough but that’s just me prefer cordless. I started with my armpits and bikini area once a week as directed those spots have the thicker hair on my body I noticed the difference of less hair growth in about 3 weeks but feel like if you had more thick corse hair it will take longer, I’ve shaved my armpits less often the hair also that grows back is thinner I hope eventually I won’t have to shave at all yay! I did my legs which the hair is very thin it takes about maybe 15-20 mins to do both legs entirely I’ve seen the difference with hair growth much more in a few weeks some spots hair has not grown back at all I do rub vitamin E oil on my legs and other areas on my body about 30 mins after to soothe my skin although it’s nothing like waxing no skin irritation at all. I’ve been very pleased with the Smoothskin brand. I high recommend if you don’t want to keep paying to go have it done or for in between sessions.

My wife and I tried the SmoothSkin Pure Mini IPL Hair Removal System with mixed results. I had success, but she didn't. The product itself is very easy to use. It does get hot pretty quickly, and depending on the area you are treating, it could be slightly painful. Once the device gets hot, the time between pulses can increase. The light it emits is very bright, even when fully pressed down. It's so bright that my wife would close her eyes when treating me or herself, which made it hard to see what she was doing. Both my wife and I have light skin. My wife treated my upper back. After only a week or two, we noticed a difference. After 6 weeks, there is virtually no hair left. My wife estimates that only 5% of the hair is left. My wife treated her under arms (arm pits) with no noticeable results after 6 weeks. I am very happy with my results. Unfortunately, my wife is disappointed with hers. She has used other products in the past with better success, but she has not used those products on her under arms, so she does not have a direct comparison. Based on our results, I recommend this product, but my wife would not.

Pretty furry guy here, and I am always interested in the latest tech to help keep my fur in check. I have used SmoothSkin products before and actually have tried the Pure Mini IPL's predecessor, with pretty decent results. When I saw that there was new version available, I was up to give it a try and had high hopes for even better results than before. Those results, at this point, are still in question. SmoothSkin notes that effectiveness takes time and like before, I decided to test for once a week, for a 6 week period, which is their suggested time before you start seeing results. After these 6 weeks, I've noticed an slight improvement but honestly, I need to keep testing every week for 12 weeks. Thats the time period SmoothSkin says you'll see a significant reduction in regrowth. Thus far, the results are not anything to write home about. First off, The SmoothSkin Pure Mini is exactly what the name implies. It's small. Very small and light which I really appreciate. It makes it very easy to hold and maneuver. It's made of black plastic with subtle gold accents. The cord is fairly long so it can reach a good distance from a wall plug, yet it's prone to curling up awkwardly while using, if stored wound up. The unit comes in a soft storage pouch, along with the power block, the manual and a clip-on precision head for when you need to address small, sensitive body areas. It narrows the light pulse and is a new addition from the previous model. I imagine it will be valuable to those who needed something for a more precise application. The Mini now offers 2 levels of IPL power. Power Mode is full power, and Gentle Mode is reduced power for those who want less of a stinging sensation during application. I imagine that too, is a welcomed addition for some consumers. With my thicker male hair, I prefer full power and full light spread. In using, one of the features I was looking forward to is the Glide Method. It allows quick continued pulsing while holding down the activation button. It is supposed to make quick work of larger areas but I found it's not very helpful after all. When the unit is first started, the Glide function is great but about a minute into the application, the pulsing slowed to a snail's pace. I think it's because the unit gets quite hot quickly and it defaults to the typical, slower Stamp Method. So in the end, it took as long as other IPL systems that only offer the Stamp Method, which is a bit of a disappointment. I was looking forward to a much quicker session. As with all IPL systems, the SmoothSkin Mini will only work on lighter skin tones. The built in Skin Tone Sensor reads your skin with every pulse and will allow a light pulse if your skin is within parameters or it will halt light pulses if you skin is not. I don't know the science behind skin tones, but if you have dark skin, this and from what I can tell, most IPL systems are not for you. One thing to note; the unit gets quite warm and make sure you don't block the air flow channels on the unit or it will get very hot. Overall, the SmoothSkin Mini is a high quality, compact device that is very easy to use. As I mentioned, after 6 weeks it's going ok but I have high hopes that this SmoothSkin Mini will improve upon what Im seeing thus far. It's easy to use just once a week, as they suggest, so continuing the process further shouldn't be an issue. Only time will tell if the SmoothSkin Mini will be my go-to IPL system.

SmoothSkin Pure Mini IPL Hair Removal System – Black The Smooth Skin Hair Remover is a wonderful product IF you read the directions thoroughly and reread any parts you don’t fully comprehend. There is no on/off switch for this device. Plug it in, it’s on. Unplug it, it runs for a few seconds and then turns off. As stated in the directions be careful of the surface you place the hair remover on and the direction it faces when it’s on and sitting because the light is bright. The Smooth Skin Hair Remover has a fairly steep learning curve but it works the first time if you use it correctly. It’s easiest to start on a fleshy part of the body (like the calf) until you get used to the process. It’s slow and a little awkward at first but the more you do it the faster and easier it becomes. As stated in the directions do NOT look directly at the device once you push the (unmarked) button to activate. It is very bright. On the face when you press the button you feel a short burst of heat. You may feel it on other body parts but the face is more sensitive. It’s not burning, just very warm for a brief second. It works great on legs, arms, and face. The bonier the area (like shins) the more difficult it is to use but it will work; it takes practice. By week three you can speed through your body and see results. After six weeks of once a week use there is significantly less hair on my face, arms, and legs. Shave the area and make sure it’s dry and moisturizer free before use. The device itself comes with a drawstring storage bag and a an adapter to cover part of the light so you can do smaller areas. It’s small so it’s easy to tuck away out of sight when not in use. Smooth Skin Hair Remover is a home hair removal product that actually works without pain or mess. It’s worth taking the time to learn to use it correctly.

I used this product with my wife. We have been using the SmoothSkin Pure Mini once a week for about 4 weeks now as the directions instructed. The manual says that you can do a full body treatment in as little as 10 minutes, but it took 10 to 15 minutes to do both full legs. The product has 2 settings, regular and sensitive, the difference is the brightness/strength of the light flash. There is an internal fan because the bright light does produce heat, it sounds like a quiet hair dryer. It is very easy to use, just put the window side flush against your skin and push the button (either regular or sensitive) and it will emit a bright flash against your skin. There is a sensor that detects if the window is completely flush against the skin and if it isn’t it will not flash. For areas where it is not flat skin (ex: knees) there is a magnetic attachment that fits over the window that makes the window area smaller allowing for the product to be flush against the skin and flash. There was no discomfort, redness or irritation when using the product. After about 10 minutes of use the flashes do get warmer and warmer which can cause discomfort, I just waited a minute or two for it to cool off a little and continued the treatment. We used the sensitive setting on the inside of the thighs and on the back of the knee area since these are more sensitive areas and the flashes on the regular setting were a little hot. My wife has light skin and light hair on her legs and the instructions say it works best on darker hair, so she was a little skeptical on whether this would work for her. It wasn’t until after her second treatment (week 2) that she noticed a change in the growth of hair on the treated area compared to the non-treated tattooed area. The hair was not growing back as quickly in the treated areas because it was shorter than the tattooed area hair. I noticed that some of the thicker hairs were not coming as thick and a little squirrely (not straight) which made me think the treatment was affecting the hair follicles. We will continue using this product and doing the weekly treatments for the full 12 weeks and I will update this review when the treatment is done.

I had wanted to try a laser hair removal tool for a while, so when I got the The SmoothSkin Pure Mini IPL Hair Removal System, I just caved and gave it a shot. This tool is rather small, which makes it perfect for facial hair removal as well as other hard to reach places. The unit itself is gorgeous and comes with everything you need. A pouch is included, alongside a manual. You *really* should read it before use, as it shows how to prep the area you want to treat. In my case, facial hair that grows in patches. SmoothSkin states that within 4 weeks of treatment once a week, you should see (and feel) a difference. At six weeks, it should be gone. I kept a small log of my experience which you can read below. Week 1: I shaved the area clean as recommended by the manufacturer, before starting the treatment. I chose to try under my chin (for the test run) and you could smell a bit of burning hair. It didn't hurt and felt warm without burning the skin. I waited a bit to make sure that there would be no severe reaction. It didn't leave any marks, so I went ahead and nuked the areas I wanted to keep clean. All went well. The laser is VERY bright. Week 2: I treated the same areas after a week and it seemed like some stubbles were already getting thiner. Week 3: Shaved and nuked the areas again and it seems like it's taking longer and longer for the hair to grow back. Week 4: The hair is having a hard time growing back. I only shaved the area twice in a week. I was pleasantly surprised. Week 5: Almost all of the patches of hair are gone or so thin that shaving has become a one time thing each week. There is still hair growth, but it's far from being as thick and ugly as it was before the treatment. Week 6: The patches are mostly gone. It's not a 100% gone, but it looks way better than it did before using the laser. At this point, the hair is so thin that it's barely visible. SmoothSkin isn't telling tall tales about their product. It does work. It might not work for everyone at the same pace and you might require more treatments, but you can see and feel a difference. Imagine that it might not work for everyone the same way as it did for me as it varies from one skin type to another. The Pure Mini is not a gadget. It's a very functional hair removal tool. Again, results might depend on your skin and hair type, but It's a good product that requires a little bit of patience and dedication. I do recommend this handy little tool for smaller areas, but not so much for big ones which will probably take forever to treat.

SmoothSkin Pure Mini is the compact mini version of its older brother Smoothskin Pure Fit. I got this for my wife birthday, and she loves it so far and has seen great improvements of hair stunts in less than 5 weeks of using. This mini and mighty device saves dollars in months on laser treatments at salons for permanent hair removal and growth. We were really looking for a device that will custom tailor based on skin tone and don’t want any complications of laser treatment in long run and this pure mini features SmartSkin technology which was another reason on top of compactness that this device was chosen. What’s in the box: Pure Mini, Head attachment, Power supply, user manual. This device works great for at home hair removal and works as expected. It really stunts the hair growth in less than 5 weeks but must try the full period of 12 weeks to get the full results. Since this is the first device of laser at home device that she is trying, she is taking all the precautionary measures not to overdo and follow the instructions as specified on the user manual. It is advertised as on the safest devices available on the market with its built-in skin sensor. It comes with attachments to treat smaller areas quickly and has 2 modes and 3 intensity level for ultimate experience. It has power mode to use in areas like underarms and gentle mode for sensitive areas like face. For now, she is using only at gentle mode to start with and will slowly move to more power mode after few weeks. It can be used on face and on sensitive areas where the hair regrowth needs to be stunt. Overall, it works as expected and is recommended to treat hair removals at home without spending a fortune for salons on laser treatments.

The SmoothSkin Pure Mini hair remover device will work, but it does take a bit of patience and perseverance if you’re not used to dealing with such devices. As a guy, I’m probably in the minority for using a device like this, but I wanted to give it a shot, because there are areas like around my shoulders where I’d love to permanently remove hair. That’s my story. The device itself is well-made and essentially comes in two major parts — the power brick that directly plugs into the wall, and the device itself that plugs into the power brick. There is a reasonably hefty user manual that comes with the device that thoroughly describes the basic science behind this type of laser treatment as well as what the expectations are for hair removal. After personally using this device for 4 weeks straight, skipping a week and then picking back up, the spots I was heating have had a noticeable decrease in hair area, and that includes gray hairs as well (a hair color that the manual warns may have issues). I also did not try the technique that allows you to travel the device across your skin, only spot treatments, but that had no bearing on whether treatment worked. When activating the device over a spot, you will feel a quick and light burning sensation, which is expected. Overall, great device and definitely cheaper than other alternatives, despite the long period of time (again, expected) to see results.

The SmoothSkin Pure is a convenient way to remove hair at home. The device comes with a very long cord, a precision head attachment, and a soft storage bag. Using the device is as simple as plugging it in, pressing it against the area to be treated, and pressing a button. The device does get quite warm with extended use. The device should only be used once a week, and it takes several weeks for results to be seen. It's a little unclear just how dramatic said results are since you're supposed to shave the area prior to using the device on it. I'm not sure if I'm seeing less hair because of the SmoothSkin treatments or because I'm shaving the same spot once a week. Still, I'm definitely seeing some kind of results as the hair is much less dense and seems to be growing back slower. I have noticed that the head of the device is starting to show burn marks along the mirrored interior. This makes me worry some about the longevity of the device. With another few treatments, I'm hoping that I won't have to use it again for awhile.
