Great beginner drone
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Snaptain - E10 1080P Drone really surprised me. Why 4 stars and not 5 then? There's a few reasons but nothing major. If there was a way, I'd rate 4.5 stars The good. It's truly beginner friendly. As this is my first drone, I can only speak for me and my experience. Ease of operation. It has a self take off and landing feature you can use to keep from crashing. Everything you need is included. Phone app is intuitive and easy to use. On board SD card for recording videos or take pictures. Camera angle is adjustable. Takes really good 1080p video. The Medium--this is neither good nor bad, just a fact. There is a learning curve if you've never flown a drone. This one is extremely easy, but you need to take the time to read the instructions, watch a vid or 2, etc. You'll make mistakes and have some "Oh SH" moments No worries though, it's easy once you get over the fear of breaking it. The Bad (and why I gave 4 stars)--Cell phone holder not big enough. For most phones you'll need to remove the case which for me is a pain. Propeller protectors look goofy so I left them off. None of the promo pics or pics on the box show the protectors installed. No portable charging brick to keep batteries charged when on the go and swapping batteries. My batteries lasted a comfortable 16 and 18 minutes each. Maybe could have gone longer, but I didn't want to risk it. A battery bank would have been nice to keep the charge going. 4.5 stars. If you're looking to get into drone flying, you can't beat this for a beginner.

There's Got To Be Better...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Snaptain E10 Foldable Drone isn't too bad of a beginner drone. I like that it is light and foldable, fitting in your hand. I love that it comes with a case to carry everything. The controller is ergonomic with adjustable grips. Batteries and controller charge fairly quickly. Getting it started is simple but flying it is challenging. In ideal conditions it works pretty well, however, the slightest breeze sends it everywhere. It says it can withstand 3m/s wind but there's no way. Snaptain also shows you flying it in the backyard catching moments with the family but mine ended up in a bush, hitting a tree, and running right into me. All I was trying to do was keep it in the middle of the yard away from everything. I had it try to self land on our deck and half an inch off the ground it went sideways right into a toy chipping one of the propellers. That was all from powering it up for the first time. I should have known better and started off with the propeller guards on but since it was pretty open I didn't think there were any dangers. It seems like the cold might also cause it problems. In an open space I tried to test out the height. I got a few cool pictures from above but then the drone just lost all altitude as if it turned off. It plopped down on the ground and I assumed the battery was low. The battery was still 75% and I was only a few feet away. It wouldn't get more than a foot off the ground after that and I'm not sure why. During a different session is was able to go high again. It has a button on the controller to do flips left or right and that was pretty cool and surprisingly easy. You can run everything from the controller alone or you can download an app and connect your phone to the controller. This was good for seeing what you were taking pictures or videos of. Connecting was super easy. The display wasn't good enough to use as a point of view because there was a delay and a lot of jitter. Also you have to take the case off your phone for it to fit on the holder. The holder kind of sucks. While I was trying to fix the drone and figure out why the propeller guards were flying off my phone slipped out of the controller and broke on the sidewalk. So that shows how poorly designed to phone holder is... I want to say this is worth getting when starting out but I just didn't get a good feeling playing with this for a couple days. Obviously having to repair my phone doesn't make me like it any better but there was other jankiness before that even happened. So I wouldn't recommend this to a friend.

Besides, please kindly note that the E20 is a beginner drone, so we strongly recommend flying the drone on a no wind or breeze day and in an open field place where there are no trees/woods around.

Great Budget Trainer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SUMMARY: For the money, a great introduction to the world of drones. Flies decently. Takes okay 1080 p pictures (with memory card not included). Lots of fun. PROS: - Easy to set up. Takes time, you do have to read the manuals, but in the end, there are no extra orientation steps. You turn it on and fly. - Pairs with the remote quickly. - Flies okay. Does need attention. - Flies indoors or outdoors (in low wind) - Very light. - Easy on the wallet for what you get. - Fun to fly with built in stunts. - Uses standard controls that prepares you for more advanced drones. - Easy to pack up and carry with included case. MATTER OF TASTE: - Requires adult supervision. - No frills. Brings the cost down but sometimes leaves one wondering as it leaves out key indicators and features from more expensive drones. - Very light. Suffers massively from ground effects (i.e. when you get close to the ground the updraft from the props can push it up off the ground when you are trying to land). And once in the air, very sensitive to wind and even changes in direction will cause it to drop altitude. - the manual suffers from ‘translation woe’, somethings took a leap of faith, some things were wrong, and some things (demo) were out of sequence. For example, in the demo movie they said to move forward push the stick forward, and then showed the left one being pushed (when it is the right one you use for that). Likewise it says to start you pull the sticks out to the left, but in fact you pull down and left. - It is NOT a budget DJI MAVIC. CONS: - This is tricky because every single con is a matter of bringing cost down. None of the ‘missing’ features bothered me, but they might you. - Sometimes more force was required to set up than I was comfortable with (cheap plastic, could mean easy to break in unfolding the antennas for example. But in the end, nothing broke so…) - need a screwdriver to take props on and off if you breath them (but not to store). - limited range. PRO TIP: You can hook up your cell phone if you want to for the bird’s eye view, but it flies fine without it. Recommend first flights without to focus on flying mechanics. MORE WORDS: When our kids were younger, my brothers and I used to compete to find the most annoying gift for the other brothers’ kids. I would have bought this in a heartbeat because: A) It would have cemented me as ‘favorite uncle.’ It’s that much fun. B) Is a great introduction into the world of drones, and C) Requires adult supervision. Alas I live too far away, that adult would have to be my brother. Though he would enjoy flying it too, then have to fight his kids for it. Go me. It requires adult supervision because yes Virginia, it is a flying set of whirling knives (blades). But then all drones do. And you do have to read the manual to set up and operate. But it comes easily once you do. So, I rarely comment on unboxing because who cares? But this one is boxed well, I was impressed, and fits well in an included case for easy transport. And it is surprisingly small and light weight. THE FLYING: Let’s cut to the chase. The flying. And the elephant in the room. Style wise it’s a copy of a DJI Mavic. But it’s no Mavic. It costs a lot less. The list of what it doesn’t have is fairly long compared to a Mavic, like avoidance sensors, gps stabilization, larger batteries, and more rugged construction, but hey if you demanded all that you would be paying for all that. What you are paying for here is an easy to fly (in terms of setting up and pairing to the remote), easy to control, fully capable drone with a camera that shows you what that’s all about. In short, it’s a great trainer. Because of the lack of stabilization features etc, it’s more challenging to fly than a DJI drone. That’s not a negative in my mind for a trainer. Once you learn from this, and if you chose to graduate on to the much more expensive, you will have all the right skills in place and then some. What in particular makes it a challenge to fly is it is so light weight. That means outside its very susceptible to even light breezes, or ground effect (prop wash bouncing off the ground and back up to the drone). It is ‘twitchy.’ It doesn’t stay rock stable in a hover, almost any change of direction or speed or turning can result in a drop of altitude (a meter) so you need to be ready to compensate. That’s a matter of weight and power. But for an experienced flier like myself that makes it fun (and yes I own a couple of Mavics). For reference early drones were MUCH more difficult to fly, and even a child can learn on this one once they find a delicate touch. MAKING SOME LEMONADE: Here is something I CAN do with the Snaptain that I can NOT do with my much more expensive DJI MAVIC. Because of the weight and power of the MAVIC and because the MAVIC is confused by house wiring in its efforts to geo locate, I would not fly the MAVIC inside. There are countless stories on the net of those that tried and really created havoc (and damage). This feature and weight light drone means I can fly it inside after I have honed my skills outside of course. Again, ground effects are especially key inside. I will deny any rumors that I chase down my cats with it inside. SHOULD YOU BUY IT? If you want a budget DJI MAVIC, you are going to be disappointed. If you want to take wedding photos, you are going to be disappointed. If you are an experienced flier looking for something to knock about without worrying about the cost if you hit a tree, you will have fun. If you are new to drones and want to try flying before fully committing to a more expensive system, this is absolutely the drone for you. It is incredibly fun. As I believe that is the intended audience it gets a well deserved five stars.

Small drone but loads of fun!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Snaptain E10 drone is compact, easy to fly, and a great value! It is loads of fun and great as a beginner and even intermediate drone piloting! Out of the box you would think, "How does a drone fit in this thing? It must be tiny!" The carry case is smaller than a camera bag and is very easy to transport around. Opening the case up, you will see a compact drone, a controller. 2 rechargeable drone batteries, some charging cables, an instruction booklet and 4 blade protectors. The drone itself is easy to set up. The rotor blade arms unfold (after taking off the little paper sleeves) and the drone quite literally spreads its wings. The 4 blade protectors fit one way into the ends of each of the arms. It can be a bit tricky to get them to snap in and takes a bit of patience at first. After that the drone is essentially all set up. You will want to charge the 2 batteries that are included and it uses a usb-c type cable to charge. The green light will stay on when charging and no light when the battery is fully charged. Once the battery is charged, it simply slides into the back of the drone and snaps in place. There is a little protective film over the camera that needs to be removed as well. There is also a micro-sd memory card slot on the drone that you will need to buy in order to get clearer video and picture quality as well as actual storage to store the files. The camera is operated by your phone with the Snaptain app and you can actually pilot the drone completely from the app as well but range will probably be limited that way. The controller is very compact as well and the antennas unfold and open up as well as the the controller grips. The center folds up and extends out to hold your phone. You do have to take your phone out of the case for it to fit though. There is a very handy overlay that goes on top of the controller that shows what all the buttons do so I found that very helpful. The controller will also need charged and comes with a rechargeable battery which uses a usb-c type charger as well. The snaptain app is pretty basic and could use a better interface in my opinion. Once you power the drone on by holding the top power button, the app will be able to connect to it via wifi connection. You also have to hold the controller power as well to connect the controller to the drone. You can essentially fly the drone right from your phone when connected. You don't need the controller if using the phone. The video from the drone will come through automatically when using the app. Flying the drone has been very fun and a bit of a learning curve as well. The controller is very responsive and the video quality is pretty good as well. It can do 3d flips which is fun to show off. Like any drone, the rotors are pretty loud and about the loudness of a grass cutter. The camera phone link does work well while within wifi range. Using the on board memory card will let you take pictures and video out of that range. It works pretty well using the buttons on the controller. Overall, a very fun drone to use and super easy to pack up and take with on trips. Quite a bit of fly time on the batteries as well. Would definitely recommend for novice or intermediate fliers.

So easy to fly!!!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Snaptain E10 Drone is so easy to fly! I've never flown a drone before and have always been intimidated to try one - fearing that I would crash it and feel like I wasted my money. However, the Snaptain E10 alleviated all of my fear and intimidation. Simply charge the batteries (yes, they supply you with 2) and the controller. Install the app and you're ready to go. The batteries and controller recharge within a few hours with the supplied USB cord. Use a couple of cords and you can charge everything at one time! The E10 features one-click take off and landing making it so easy to launch. Your phone rests securely in the controller's cradle and becomes your view. The joy-stick controllers move the drone up/down, left/right, and forward/reverse. There's even a feature that allows you to fly in a circle in an area. It has a 1080p camera that takes great video/photos. You can even record your video or snap a photo while in flight. (SD card not included) You can adjust the angle of the camera and even zoom in. If you panic and are afraid the E10 is getting too far away, simply press the emergency stop button which will bring the drone back to earth. The E10 has a range of up to 500 feet and flies at up to 18mph. Each battery lasts about 18 minutes so there is plenty of time for fun. This is a four-propeller drone and includes removable propeller guards to protect it if you bump into things and even comes with additional blades in the event of an accident. The overall size is great at about 11" x 12" and it weighs less than 7 ounces. It folds up easily and fits into the provided carrying case. If you've been interested in a drone but afraid to try, this one is definitely the one to try. It's lightweight, compact, and so easy to fly.

Easy Controls
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Weather has not really cooperated with testing this guy outdoors. Between the rain, cold and general blah of the recent weather, I've only had a chance to take this out a couple times. Initial setup is pretty easy. Download the app from your mobile app store of choice. Create the account to use. Insert battery. Fold out the arms of the drone, follow instructions on order. Attach the propeller guards. Power up the drone, holding power for about 3 seconds. Power on the controller, holding power for 3 seconds. Extend the antenna, grips and phone holder on the controller. Open the app. Connect your phone to the drones Wi-Fi. Open the Function Display in the app to connect to the camera and/or control from your phone. To start/unlock the blades: hold the controllers joysticks to lower left on the left joystick and lower right on the right joystick. Press the easy launch button for 3 seconds or use the same button on your phone and slide to confirm. The drone will rise to about 3 foot off the ground. The easy launch also will land the drone holding it for 3 seconds. It will land where the drone is, it does not return home before landing. Left joystick controls the height and tilt. Right joystick will control direction. There are camera controls on the top left and right of the controller. Everything the controller controls can be done through the app as well. I think of it as the emergency backup controls. You never know when the controller could run out of battery. I have never experienced that, but I guess it is possible. Flight is smooth and intuitive. Slight breezes will cause many flight adjustments. Full on gusts will be much worse. Search parties may be required. The camera is quite sharp and does a great job both with still pics and video. The Wi-Fi is strong enough your phone will have nearly instant video on the screen. This makes flying much easier flying from the view of the drones cockpit. WARNING: The emergency off will shut the drone off while in flight if engaged. It will not land gracefully. And the drone will need to be powered off before it will launch again. I would say don't use this unless you have no other options. The unit comes with 2 batteries, 4 propeller guards, carrying case, cables, manuals and the controller. Looking forward to using this a little more often when the weather gets better. Definitely a great entry level drone and perfect for learning the controls.

Snaptain E10 1080P Drone gray.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Snaptain E10 has a 30-minute flight time advertised on the box, however the actual flight time is 15 to 18 minutes per battery, and it comes with 2 batteries. The remote controller has two buttons for video, one for a picture and the other for video. There is also a button on the remote controller to adjust the camera angle. This feature is very helpful while in flight, as you don’t have to recall the drone and adjust the camera angle. The remote also has a zoom feature, the literature does not explain the zoom percentages. The drone will fly to an altitude of 262 feet and 490 feet from the controller. The controller has buttons for preprogrammed tricks. There is a circle fly, it will fly a circle around the controller at about 5 feet. There is a flip button also, along with a trajectory(wavey) flight. There is also an emergency stop button that only works below 32 feet. This feature stops the blades, and the drone will fall out of the sky. The take off and land button will start/stop you play. This feature will safely land the drone. Once the drone is airborne you use the buttons to control the drone and its flight. All the controls are also on the app, and you can control the drone with your phone. The package does not come with a micro-SD card, you should get one up to 128GB formatted to FAT32 standards. After a few minutes, controlling the drone via the controller became easier. It did, however, take a few days of flying before I became noticeably better at it.

Amazing Value!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using the Snaptain E10 Drone I am incredibly impressed at the functionality this drone has at it's price point! Setup on this was a very simple process. Just charge up the batteries and controller, then download an app to your phone and you are ready to fly! It has many ease of use features the more expensive drones out there have, such as auto take off. This features make it easy for someone who does not have a lot of experience with a drone to learn! The size of this drone is a major benefit as well. It is small and nimble enough to use inside, but also has a rugged enough design to withstand the inevitable bumps and falls that will happen when you use it outside. The camera quality is also very impressive! I was shocked at the quality of the photos and videos, even when my young daughter was taking them. It is definitely a go-to option for someone that is looking to get into drones, or anyone looking for a really cool gift for one of their children! Overall, at this price I could not ask for more and I love it!

Nice compact drone for general use and photos
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The drone was well packaged and easy to get setup and running. The size is nice and makes it very easy to travel with. The control was fine and the photo quality was quite good. One thing that I noticed was that the weight and maybe the profile did make this a bit of a struggle in windy conditions - but keeping to a lower altitude and planning ahead seemed to help with this. I don't plan on exploring or taking long flights though, so no real worries there. Battery life was good and charging speed was sufficient for my needs as I don't plan to fly this for long at one time. It is more of a 'take off, get in position, get the shots, bring it back down again' sort of thing for me. Stability of the drone was good - again, windy conditions were a bit of a challenge, but nothing that a little patience couldn't cure. If I were to plan on using a drone to look ahead when hiking or to take shots of a game or event, I might opt for a heavier unit to increase flight time and stability but for an entry level drone, this certainly fit the bill.

Best bang for your buck
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the box is the drone, propeller repair kit, charge kit, two rechargable batteries for the drone, controller with non-removable battery, carrying case and a set of propeller protectors. There is also a manual, quick start guide and the controller layout card. First impression - This drone is very light, well made and I love the carrying case. Setup - Setup is simple. Make sure you charge everything out of the box. (Controller, two rechargeable batteries) The quick start guide provides a QR code to download the app. Inside the app, there is a video on pre-flight checklist for the drone itself. Once you complete the pre-flight, you will have a one button start connection; once the connection is made, you are ready to fly. Battery life - Battery life is about 25-30 minutes per removable battery inside the drone. On the controller, there is a battery indicator light and I lost one bar (there are four bars) within the first 25-30 minutes. Flying - Indoors/Outdoor - Indoors, the drone operates like a quad copter and there are a few more features available. Inside of the app are the same flight controls that are on the controller, therefore, you can fly the drone with your phone. (The controller and the phone sync together.) On the controller you will find dedicated media buttons that will allow you to take photos and start and stop video directly from the controller. You can change the camera angle, camera zoom, hover, orbital flight, emergency stop, speed flight mode, auto take off and auto landing. It is best to use the speed flight button when flying indoors. This allows you to change your maximum speed and has three different settings. My suggestion is to start on the lowest one which keeps it stable indoors and makes it easier to control. When transitioning to outdoor flying, I would suggest medium to high speed to combat any potential air currents outside. The drone has built in gyroscopes for stabilization and controller proximity protection for ease of use. The drone has the ability to be set on an orbital path that will circle the controller, i.e. the user for 360 video capture. In the maximum speed setting mode, you will have access to high speed maneuvers and pre-programmed stunts, like 3D flips and rolls. Once you hit the limits of your flight time, there will be an audible beep from the controller and visual flashing from the drone and this where the one touch landing button comes in handy. The drone will try to return to the general area that it launched from and land on its own. I feel that this a great feature for newer pilots. The pros so far are the extra features, (i.e. orbital mode, one touch landing and take off, and the camera control buttons) the stability indoors, the choices of colors on the website, the included compartmentalized carrying case and battery life. (All of my other drones don’t last this long.) The cons so far are no included power brick, the antennas on the controller (the folding and unfolding of the antennas-it feels like you are going to break it when you snap them open) and the phone spot on the controller (depending on the phone you have, it may not fit). Overall, I would recommend this to friends and family.

Great little toy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Snaptain E-10 1080P drone is an ok drone for a beginner. Quality wise it doesn't feel like a solid build but for what it is it will pass. The drone is very noisy and is it not stable even when no wind blowing. The remote is a very simple design and easy to fly. The build is very similar to other devices in the market. The size and weight is nice small and compact easy to carry with you. It does come with two batteries that click into place on the rear of the drone. The removable battery option is a plus because other drones have the battery built in and once they run out of battery power thats is you have to wait until they charge back up, but with having the removable battery on this device lets you keep flying why the other charges. The flight time is very decent for what it is. The image quality of the camera is ok. If you are just getting into drones and are not 100 percent sure if that will be something you like and enjoy this will be a great way to get in the game and learn what drones are all about. I would recommend it to someone who is just starting to get into drones.

Good Starter Kit for Flying Drones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Snaptain - E10 1080P Drone with Remote Controller is an impressive product for an entry-level drone experience. I was impressed with the packaging and how well it fits into the nice case that comes with it. Setting it up was fairly straightforward, though the start-up instructions could have been a bit clearer. The batteries and controller take awhile to charge so it’s best to charge them overnight. For some reason, I could only charge them when using the very short cord supplied. They did not charge when using them on other USB-C charging cables, even though I tried them with a variety of chargers. This limited getting everything charged as there are 2 batteries and 1 controller and they takes awhile to charge. The drone is small when folded and unfolds to @ 1 foot square. Very nice to fold it and tuck it away in such a compact case. It came with 4 propeller protectors. On my first flight I knocked them all off, which was totally my fault because I had not put them in right (I actually put them in upside down). Once that was taken care of, they were very secure. Nice. But you do need to take them off again when you pack everything up (or simply elect to not use them). Once it was all charged and the app downloaded - and synced with the E10’s wifi - it was ready to go. At this point it was fairly simple to get started thanks to the easy start and land button. As an entry-level drone, it does not have crash avoidance, a sophisticated ‘return to home’ feature, or offer image stabilization. That means you need to be careful if you’re a novice. I found it very responsive to my input and the image was excellent. I like that you can adjust the camera’s view up and down and keep it directed in one direction while moving the drone. I did have a problem the first time I sent it up 2 stories high. The controller battery was weak (probably not fully charged as I had thought) and it lost connection. The controller was flashing at me, but there were no alert sounds, so I was thrown off. The main lesson from this is to be sure that the controller is fully charged as well as the batteries. I do like the fact that it comes with 2 batteries.

Great features and easy for the novice!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Snaptain E10 drone is a folding quadcopter drone. The drone is supplied with a remote control, 2 batteries, USB charging cable, spare propellers, propeller guards, propeller changing screws and screwdriver, all packed in a nice padded case. The included remote control will hold a smartphone. The smartphone can be used as a remote control with the free app and provides live video from the drone camera. This drone weighs 185 G which affects the need for registration depending on how the drone is used. The drone requires a micro-USB card that is not included. The remote has a stated connectivity range of 150 meters which is 492 feet. The batteries provide about 18 minutes of flight time each. The included USB cable will charge the batteries and the remote unit. The 1080p camera is adjustable up to 90 degrees from the remote. Still pictures, video, camera angle and zoom are controlled with the remote or the app. This drone was simple to set up. After charging, downloading the app, unfolding and connecting the phone to the drones WiFi it was ready to go. This unit has a one touch takeoff and landing button. When pressed the drone takes off and hovers at 4-5 feet. The button does the reverse to land. There are also buttons that cause it to flip, fly in a 5 foot radius circle and an emergency stop. I tried to take off once and land twice in a grassy area. The drone is not completely level during takeoff and landing which in all 3 cases allowed the propellers to contact the grass and dirt forcing the drone to shut down. I recommend taking off and landing on a smooth hard clean surface. My other advice is to heed the instruction not to fly if there is a breeze. Twice I flew in a breeze that was undetectable to me at first and the drone quickly took off downwind and was difficult to control. Both flights in a breeze resulted in a collision. Fortunately, the drone survived the collisions. There are 2 joysticks, one controls rotation and the other vertical and horizontal travel. This drone was easy to set up and unlike my first drone, easy and stable to control. My first drone was so hard to pilot that I had trashed it on Day 1. I was nervous about trying another drone after my first experience. This drone has been perfect for me, the novice, to learn on. The drone is easy to control, stable, takes great video and still pictures. Although easy for the novice, this has many great features.

A great beginner drone
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think this is the first drone that actually works good at this price point that I’ve used. I have had some poor luck with budget drones for myself and my kids to learn on. This one is one of the more stable ones that I’ve used, while it doesn’t hover in place perfectly it tends to stay in a general area with just a bit of guidance. It is responsive to controls and the camera is good enough for kids to be thrilled with and anybody that is first using a drone. It even has bumpers you can install which can be really helpful if the sky is dumping rain for weeks and there isn’t a clear day to take it outside to try it out. I love that it comes with everything you need to get started, a couple sets of blades, a case, a remote, two batteries, and a case for everything. The remote is great in every way but one, it has a holder for a phone, and antennas that fold flat as well as handles at the bottom. The controls feel good and responsive, the only weird thing is the battery compartment, my first though out of the box was to put a battery in the remote, so I grabbed my Phillips and tried to open it but it is a miniature hex screw and my Phillips didn’t work, I then just tried to turn it on and realized it came with a battery but I’ll have to find my tiny hex set when the remote dies as one didn’t come in the box. This is a great drone for kids to learn on as it is stable enough that they can focus on learning the controls but not so stable that they don’t actually need to learn how to fly. The camera is a good use and it can’t go far enough away or fly for long enough for kids to get into too much trouble with. This does more than I expected for a budget drone and the blades can take a beating (before I put on the bumpers for the kids).

Great drone for first time users
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will start with this is not a toy so I wouldn't leave a child unsupervised to play with this drone. That said this is a really nice beginner drone that was easy to setup and use. I had limited time to fly outside because it's been windy and below zero. The day I did get it outside to use it was still cold and a slight breeze. I was able to get the drone in the air and fly it around for a little while. I would strongly recommend using this in a wide-open space so you can figure out the controls. I struggled because the space I had was small and I kept crashing into things. The drone took all my crashes with no damage! I was really surprised at how well it held up as I thought for sure when it hit the garage it would have broken a propeller or two. The guards they include for the blades really do work well and protected them from the multiple crashes. There are also replacement propellers included with this kit which is helpful and I'm sure I will need them sooner than later. This was one the easier drones I have used. I like the fact it has a button for auto takeoff and landing. This function worked great to get the drone off the ground and level to fly, same with the landing it. The control is easy to hold and has the controls for flying the drone are in front and on top are the controls for the camera. The control is well thought out and easy to use. The camera can be moved up down by the control, along with zoom in and out, take a photo or video. I connected this to my pixel 8 android phone. The app is pretty straight forward and includes a user guide. You can however use this drone without a phone (just to fly around) but using a phone is a must when taking video or photos. I did lose wifi connection when I crashed, and I had to restart the drone and reconnect with my phone. I wish there was a better way to wireless connect to the camera as my phone will switch to another wifi device for internet. This a great beginner drone that offers a lot of function/control for the price. The camera works well but isn't going to win any photo contest. The drone comes with extra replacement parts, an app that works really well, and overall is a great drone.

Neat Cheap Drone for a Beginner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Snaptain E10 1080P Drone with Remote Controller is a budget friendly good starter drone for someone that has zero interference in the area. I had a blast with this little drone in my larger yard but found once near congestive areas with lots of wifi and electronic interference, the quality of the drone diminished quickly. Taking the drone out of the box, it includes a lot of extras for the first timer along with the controller. I charged the battery to full and staryed the setup once I downloaded the needed android software. Also, I am certified to fly and always check your area to make sure it is not restricted or aircraft is in the area. Flying the little E10 is fun, it is quick for its price point but handles very slow, you have to think about 1 second ahead for maneuvers. The camera is a decent 1080 camera but is pixelated at high speed, use it for low speed video and pictures only. The controller is very cheap feeling I have bought $40 drones with the same cheap feeling but it does work better than those, so the inside components must be spec'd a little higher by the manufacture. The drone itself is decent plastics that seem to be strong. I put it into a tree at a fast clip because of the delayed reaction times and I was able to take right back off even after hittting and dropping 15 feet onto the grass. Pros: Low Price Extras Ease of Use Replacement parts are cheap Cons: Contoller is cheap Connection is slow Camera is a minimum requirements kind of thing Battery Life

First Drone, decent
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like the title says, this is my first drone. It is pretty straight forward to get up and running. Charge up the batteries and the controller. Download the app from the play store of your mobile OS and open it up. Follow the WIFI connection instructions and you are up and running. I flew for about 20 minutes on the slowest speed. It is a little difficult to get your feel for it. But I was able to fly around the back yard a couple hundred feet and crashed it each and every time LOL. Even on the slowest speed it is easy to lose your bearings. The camera is snappy, gives you a great view but if you do crash it, it is easily damaged on the propellors. It is also very light and does not like the wind. 5-10 mph winds will push you off course if you are not on top of your game. Overall, it is a great starter drone for your kids, takes good pictures and makes for some fun, for what it is. Like I said, it took around 20 minutes just to get the hang of it. It is delicate and does not like windows or trees LOL. You will have to reset your WIFI connection to the device if you crash it or the screen will not show the camera.
