I am sure it would have been a great item to have so to not have to purchase the expensive batteries as often. It would have paid for itself in a short period of time.

A month ago 1 of the solar panels just quit charging , took it back to Best Buy to exchange it , and they wouldn’t! After I spent almost $1500. On this system they said I have to deal with Arlo ! Can’t get anyone to call back from Arlo support almost Another month has gone by ! I will never buy this brand again and especially not with Best Buy!

not a great camera for beginners.

Also will no audible to phone or ipad.. Waiting for Arlo to do something about it , they say they are working on it. So at this point, Not happy.

They work pretty good so far. However in CO winter the fluctuation of the temp will interrupt charging and send notices frequently. Not sure how long they will last.

The 2-watt Arlo Solar Panel is designed to provide year-round trickle charging to keep your Arlo camera battery charged, not to charge your camera battery from low to full.

Great concept solar charging only for low traffic

Working As Advertised - Initial Review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the new Arlo Ultra solar panel in the mail two days ago, this is a short term use / initial thoughts review. I will follow up after one month of use to provide any information that comes up during the course of use. My first thoughts on the new solar panel are positive. The new solar panel is quite a bit slimmer. lighter, and smaller in profile. That is nice because the solar panel is less of an eyesore. The Arlo Ultra panel comes with typical mounting hardware just like the previous model 4600. After installation we had a clear sunny day which charged my Arlo Ultra camera pretty quickly, all of my Arlo Ultra cameras started around 50-60 percent and were fully charged by the end of the day. The cable is of adequate length for my applications, I did not have an issue remotely mounting the solar panel due to the 8' cable. Previous models of the solar panel had issues with the connection between the panel and the proprietary USB cable. The Arlo Ultra solar panel appears to be improved in that regard, it looks like it is hermetically sealed, with the only connection at the camera itself via the new magnetic connector. This in my opinion is a marked improvement over the previous 4600 model for Arlo Pro and Pro 2 cameras. Time will tell if this unit lasts and maintains the ability to charge the cameras adequately. I will follow up with an update to this review when I am able to evaluate the Arlo Ultra solar panel for a longer duration of time. For people that are wondering, you can only charge one camera with this unit, you can ONLY use the Arlo Ultra solar panel with Arlo Ultra cameras. You cannot use the Arlo Pro or Pro 2 solar panel to charge your Arlo Ultra camera.
