two quirky things: if you want pay as you go bandwidth, you need to ask Skyroam first to lower you to US-only if you don't plan to travel outside of the country to save you the $3/GB (can't do that on your end), also if you have devices that are 5ghz and 2.4ghz, let the devices that only connect on one of the bands connect first, the device will then stop transmitting on the other frequency.

This portable hotspot is just as advertised. I recently used this on a trip to the UAE and Egypt and it worked. Yes, it was not the fastest, but when you need internet, you will get it. International unlimited cost $99 for 1 month of service (with a speed cap at 20GB, after 20GB, you can use at diminished speeds). I look forward to have this in my international travel bag so I will have internet anywhere I go.

We used our new Solis driving from Phoenix to Indy. It worked extremely well. We are very satisfied with our Solis and would recommend this product.

The device is very easy to use.
It’s not expensive. It works great. Nothing to do but be sure to buy a special adapter to plug into the wall. You have to have one handle 5 V at 2 A. Most on most chargers only handle milliamps. But I found the correct ones on amazon.

Fantastic product, incredibly easy to set up and has flexible data plans. Never had any issue with speed either as it connects to whatever network has the best signal for your location.

I appreciate the no contract for data that this hotspot affords the user. I have used this all over the country and only had one issue with connectivity, which was in downtown Fort Worth, Texas. It was simple to connect and use.

On 11/19 Saturday I bought a 1GB pay as you plan. I used it for 1/2 mainly browsing websites. Both my phone and MacBook use low data mode for Solis. Next, the app says you have no plan. If I exhausted the data, it should say that. There is no visibility in what device used how much data. There is no support, the app live chat support no one responds. The return windows was 14 days so stuck with this device. Overall, I cannot recommend this device to anyone.

Works very well once it finds a cellular connection. Simple to set up. One upgrade would be to provide more data...20GB actually goes fairly fast and a little expensive at $50 a month. Would rather the unlimited $50 a month plan actually gave you unlimited 4G.

When you turn it on, you have to install an app on your phone on which you buy the data. The hotspot uses that connection to give you internet on any other devices. You can buy it up-front in small packages or have it auto-charge. I did both options at different times - did you want to watch a movie on Netflix? My paypal was dinging so much that I didn't even get through a movie without my balance being at $45. I live in SF and my cell service is Verizon. I must've used it twice successfully, and all other times unsuccessfully, and I needed it to do my work! The Solis people were unresponsive to my emails for help or through the app. What a disappointment, and when I needed it to do my work, too.

Poor performance as mobile Wi-Fi in vehicle

I bought the Solis unit to be used as a portal mobile Wi-Fi in my vehicle as some places that I travel through for my job are not always cell friendly. There is a particular stretch of rural highway that I travel frequently where my Verizon cell goes to zero bars in spots. I had success with a built in AT&T Wi-Fi in my previous vehicle but my replacement vehicle did not have a built in so I purchased the Solis as it advertised that it would automatically lock onto the strongest network in the area. Needless to say, I have been extremely disappointed. In the areas that I need it most, it will take a very long time to lock on to a signal and will not always stay locked in. This is especially frustrating when I'm supposed to be on a Teams meeting for work while driving. I called tech support and explained my issue and told them how the previous AT&T Wi-Fi unit I was using had very little trouble in this area but for some reason the Solis would not lock onto the AT&T signal on a consistent basis. I was told to do a reset on the unit. That really didn't work. Sometimes the unit would work fine in the rural areas but it would not lock in on a good signal on a regular basis and I got tired of pulling over to try to work with it. I think this would probably work fine as a "sit in one place" device in an area that is not out in the middle of nowhere...although AT&T still works there......but as a mobile Wi-Fi for your vehicle, it's awful. Since I've had it for almost 6 months, I guess I'm stuck with it so I'll use up the data I've pre-purchased and then do who knows what with it.

I bought this device to work from the beach in Miami. It worked perfectly. The reviews kind of scared me because people were saying it’s not the best device but I had no issues getting service anywhere there was cell service. I choose this particular device so I can work internationally (after covid when it’s safe) without having to search for another SIM card. I highly recommend for people working from home and want to be able to travel and work from wherever you are.

Better than your phone's hotspot *probably*
Can handle streaming & downloading media pretty good. Best for travelers. Not the greatest for gaming, but that can depend on the signal in your area.
