OK... I received these (although re-branded for Best Buy Magnolia Room) with the" Sonos / Sonance" combo pack from the Magnolia Room, and I was utterly blown away. These speakers are substantially high quality in weight, touch and tactile quality. On opening the box, I was earnestly impressed. Truly top shelf and worthy of Magnolia Room quality. The mounting options provided from manufacturer were not only high quality but also versatile. It took 20 minutes to mount both speakers and you will be confident that they will last for decades. Sound quality... Here is where the rubber meets the road and these speakers truly shine. To put it to the test, we had the hot tub going with all 3 zones of jets full blast and the kids were in the pool with 2 of their friends splashing, diving, laughing and everyone could easily hear the music clearly. Even from far end of pool, it was great. At full blast, there is no distortion and everything is crisp, clean and clear. We have a 2 acre lot and these deliver incredibly clear and crisp booming lows with glass-breaking clean and true high's... The mid's are sent so clear to the ear that it is a true symphony of brilliance for you to experience. When we had several friends over for an evening of drinks and relaxing in the pool and hot tub, every guest we had was jaw-dropped impressed with not jut the volume, but moreover the incredible quality of sound. I get it. These are on the higher end of price, but please trust me, they are worth every dollar if you are looking for a true top-shelf outdoor weather resistant speaker that will serve your family's needs for years to come. I would eagerly recommend them to a friend. You can not go wrong. Let me start by saying that any outdoor speakers of this form factor that you see with Sonance’s name on them are going to be extremely good build and sound quality, and you absolutely cannot go wrong with ANY of them, you will be extremely pleased with their sound. Let me also say, I think pairing with a Sonos Amp is a no brainer, the sound quality is FANTASTIC and the premade bundles containing Sonance Speakers and a Sonos Amp makes absolute perfect sense for all parties involved. I also need to say I did not purchase my dads Mariner 66’s from BestBuy, but was so blown away and with the lack of reviews felt I had to write one. That being said, the MAG06 and Sonos by Sonance speakers are NOT the same as Mariner 66’s, they are far closer to the Mariner 64’s. Both of those speakers (MAG06/Sonos By Sonance Outdoor) are CUSTOM MADE by Sonance FOR THE SPECIFIC PARTIES(BestBuy and Sonos) and are NOT REBRANDED MARINERS. The form factor is the same, yes, but the sound quality is not. The Mariner X6’s(55, 66, 86) perform above any of the Custom made for BestBuy/Sonos speakers and its not even close. I can qualify by letting you know that I hear the Mariner 64’s on almost a daily basis, and have heard both the MAG06 and Sonos by Sonance Outdoor speakers as well. I had the option to choose any of them, as I was picking outdoor speakers for my dad for an early Fathers Day 2020 present. I chose the Mariner 66’s with a Sonos Amp and they absolutely blew him out of the water. He could not be happier, my mom is unable to get him to come inside now. The sound quality is absolutely superb and as clear as day that these are the higher end of Sonance’s outdoor speakers. This review isnt to bash any of the premade custom sets for either BestBuy or Sonos, only to straighten out those who are misinformed. The only other review on these speakers was misinformed when they were told or thought they read that the MAG06 speakers are rebranded Mariner 66’s, they are not(again, closer to 64’s if anything, but truly their own model and different from anything in Sonance’s line of Mariners just like the Sonos by Sonance are not Mariners). I can give my absolute highest recommendation for these speakers, you will be blown away. Again, pairing with a good Amp(in my opinion a no brainer to use the Sonos Amp....it sounds AMAZING, makes for super easy use of the speakers and is an easy install)truly brings the best out of these speakers. I would suggest any of Sonance’s of this form factor to everyone, but these are truly the peak. I would also suggest the Mariner 66’s and a Sonos Amp over the Sonos by Sonance, as theyre better speakers and for a similar price. Also, as I write this the MAG06 bundle with Sonos Amp and iPort remote is at an almost unbeatable price of $900...and although theyre not the same as these speakers, with the Sonos Amp alone being $650 MSRP to get the Amp, MAG06 speaker pair and iPort remote at $900 is amazing.
