The Sonos Ace headphones present a mixed bag. For those already invested in the Sonos ecosystem, such as those who own a Sonos Arc, the Ace could be a worthwhile addition. However, if you already own high-end headphones like the Apple AirPods Max (APM), Sony WH-1000XM5, Bose QC Ultra, or Focal Bathys, the Ace might not offer enough to justify the investment.
The headphone market is competitive, and alternatives like the Focal Bathys and Apple APM stand out at this price point. Sonos missed an opportunity to differentiate the Ace in a crowded marketplace, especially considering their strong brand and technological prowess. Notably, the Ace lacks features like Hi-Fi, Lossless sound over Wi-Fi, and the ability to play music from the Sonos app, which is significant oversights.
In terms of sound quality, the Ace delivers loud and satisfying bass but lacks the depth and refinement of the Bathys. The mid-range and vocal clarity are decent but do not match the detailed and immersive experience provided by the Bathys. Instrumental separation is also not as tight, making the soundstage feel less defined. I find the sound stage and audio quality slightly below the Apple APM, but that may just be my personal preference.
The Ace excels in comfort, being the most comfortable headphones I've worn since the Bose QC45s. The APM, while providing good sound quality, is heavy and can become fatiguing quickly. The Bathys are comfortable but have smaller ear cups.
For Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), the Ace and APM perform equally well, while the Bathys fall short, especially for frequent travelers. In terms of Dolby Atmos, the APM outperforms the Ace, which does not effectively utilize this feature, and the Bathys do not support it at all.
Overall, while the Sonos Ace offers solid performance, especially in comfort and sound quality, it does not surpass the excellence of the Focal Bathys and is almost on part with the APM. I personally don't see a compelling reason to choose over other high-end headphones.

Great headphones. Very seamelss to connect with my phone and computer. Also the Tv swap option is very nice. Generally pretty comfortable but can get hot after a while. Music wise is also pretty good alrhough i think airpod max is just slightly better, but they are so uncomfortable so its not worth it.

The Sonos Arc headphones have truly redefined my listening experience, setting a new standard for audio quality and comfort. From the moment I unboxed them, I was struck by their sleek design and premium feel. The minimalist aesthetic is both elegant and modern, making them a perfect accessory for any setting.
Sound Quality: 10/10
The standout feature of the Sonos Arc headphones is undoubtedly the incredible sound quality. The audio experience is immersive, with rich, deep bass that doesn’t overpower the mids and highs. Whether I’m listening to classical symphonies or modern pop tracks, every detail is crystal clear. The surround sound capability is a game changer, making movies and gaming feel more lifelike than ever. The spatial audio technology creates an enveloping soundstage that truly pulls you into the experience.
Comfort: 9/10
Comfort is crucial for long listening sessions, and Sonos has nailed it. The ear cups are plush and breathable, while the adjustable headband ensures a perfect fit. I can wear them for hours without any discomfort, which is a significant plus for both music lovers and gamers alike. The lightweight design makes them easy to wear, and I appreciate the thoughtful engineering that keeps them snug but not too tight.
Battery Life: 9/10
With impressive battery life, the Sonos Arc headphones can last through extended listening sessions without needing a recharge. The quick charging feature is also a nice touch, allowing me to get back to my favorite tunes in no time.
Connectivity: 10/10
The connectivity options are seamless, whether I’m using Bluetooth or the Sonos app. Pairing is straightforward, and I’ve experienced no dropouts during use. The ability to integrate with my existing Sonos system is a fantastic bonus, allowing me to control my entire audio environment from one place.
Features: 9/10
The touch controls are intuitive and responsive, making it easy to adjust volume or skip tracks without fumbling with buttons. The noise-cancellation feature is another highlight, effectively blocking out background noise, which is perfect for commuting or focusing in noisy environments.
Value: 9/10
While the Sonos Arc headphones are on the premium side of the market, the quality and features justify the price. Given the performance and versatility, they are a worthy investment for anyone serious about their audio experience.
Overall Impression:
The Sonos Arc headphones are a testament to the brand’s commitment to quality and innovation. Whether you’re a casual listener or an audiophile, these headphones deliver an extraordinary sound experience that is hard to match. I can confidently say that these are the best headphones I’ve ever owned, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to elevate their audio game.

I had an opportunity to test these on a 11 hour flight, which is what this review is based on. Overall, these are a high quality build with premium materials. I love the magnetic detachable ear pads as a feature for easy replacement. The headphones are attractive, and the minimal branding is a big plus. Also, the price is a big obstacle given how many less expensive excellent competitors there are.
Noise cancelling: this is where the Sonos is getting a 1 star ding. Compared to the Bose QC Ultra, I feel like the Bose have them beat. On the long flight, I was feeling a bit fatigued by the amount of plane and passenger noise that was making it's way through. I wear glasses, so it's always a factor that a bit of noise seeps in, but in this case, even when I took my glasses off, the Bose seem to do a better job of silencing plane noise.
Sound quality: great sounding headphones, as you would expect from a Sonos product. I have no complaints.
Comfort: I liked the shape and fit initially, but I felt a sense of relief when I removed them as the big cups started to feel a bit heavy and large compared to the Bose. I have a pretty average sized head (I think) and these definitely wouldn't bother me if I was wearing them for less time - maybe commuting on a train. For the longer flight, I wished they were lighter.
Minor note: the power button is on the bottom of the left side. I found that I was inadvertently turning off the headphones with my thumb when I went to make fit adjustments. A small but notable design flaw.
Final thoughts: in the end, I decided to return these in favor of sticking with my Bose QC Ultra. For the premium price, the noise cancelling on the Bose is better and less expensive. When Sonos comes with an Ace V2, it is going to be a big winner. They are going to get better at this, and these are definitely a step in the right direction, just not for me right now.
Thank you for providing such a detailed review of the Sonos Ace headphones based on your experience. Your detailed feedback highlights important aspects of the Sonos Ace headphones, particularly for those considering them for long flights or extended use. Thank you for sharing your insights and we look forward to the day you return back to Sonos Ace!

I’ve been using the Sonos Ace headphones mainly for podcasts and audiobooks, and they’ve completely elevated the experience. Voices sound incredibly clear and natural—like the narrator is right in the room. The balance is perfect: rich enough to feel full-bodied but never muddy or overbearing.
The comfort is another big win. I can wear them for hours without fatigue, and the noise cancellation keeps me focused, even in noisy environments. The build quality feels premium, and the seamless Bluetooth connection is exactly what I hoped for—quick, stable, and reliable.

Aside from the lack of WiFi streaming support, the Aces are a home run of an entry into the headphone market for Sonos. Great sound, great comfort, great noise cancellation, good battery life, high end design.

The sonos aces are built very well and look amazing. They also have very good anc that is just slightly behind sony and bose. They are by far the most comfortable headphones I have ever used. The aces are almost perfect in every way but sadly the sound quality is just ok. The bass is muddy and the mids are uneven leading to vocals sometimes being too quiet, the treble can sometimes be harsh because somewhere their is a bump around 4k hertz that is bad. This could have been improved if sonos at least had a three band eq at launch but instead we got only bass and treble sliders that dont fix the problem areas. Sonos need to release an update fixing the eq or give us a five band eq like the Sony's. It is baffling that a sound company misses this bad when it comes to sound but somehow perfected everything else.

These are my current favorite headphones. superb sound quality. Superb battery life. I wear these to the gym 4-5 days a week and sweat on them. No flaws. Battery life is excellent and I only charge them once a month. The fit feels better than apple AirPods Max and I think the sound quality beats the apple as well.

Comfortable, great sound and ANC is amazing. I would say these are better than airpod max. Because they feel lighter than the max.

Amazong quality and comfort. I wore them to Japan for over 10 hours and not once did i feel tired from the wear. They clamp well but offee increadibly soft cups. Noise cancellation better than my Sony XM4 and Bose Ultra quiet comfort. The sound is superior for a cleaner signature. Not as bassy as Sony but that is good and fully adjustable to preference. The app is not the best and home theater features are limited to use with the Arc. Either way they are best bluetooth headphones and most comfortable i have ever experienced for my personal fit.

The sound quality on these Sonos headphones is excellent. The balance between highs and lows is spot-on, and they handle a wide range of music effortlessly. I listen to everything from EDM and rap to country, and the headphones adapt really well to each genre without missing a beat.
The noise cancellation is awesome and very effective. My only small gripe is that there’s just one noise-canceling mode—you either have it fully on or off. I wish there were more adjustable levels to fine-tune it, but that’s more of a personal preference than a dealbreaker.
Overall, these are great headphones with fantastic sound and strong noise cancellation. I highly recommend them.

These headphones are an absolute win! From their sleek, premium design to the seamless app that puts you in full control, every detail feels top-notch. The comfort? Unreal—I can wear them for hours without a single complaint. The mic is crystal clear, and the build quality screams durability. If you’re on the fence, jump off and grab a pair. Totally worth it!

I've tried quite a few W/Headphones. Sony jbl apple bose. All topnotch. I would say Sonos is a equal too each one. The phones are very comfortable. Doesn't hurt my ears. Even after wearing for hours. Sound suppression is equal to the other HP's i mentioned. Even Bose. Talking o. The phone is loud and clear. No.1 i love the controls ON the HP's . Skip to the next song. Previous song. Pause. Answer incoming call. Love it. Control with out having to pull out my phone. No2 Dolby. My movies and shows sound more like my receiver at home. None of the other HP's have it. Only stereo. Oh and yes the bass may be a little lower then say Bose or Sony but there bass is a little Exaggerated Sonos is smooth. And you can ad more bass. It enhances low sounds. They a little heavier than Sony. And sonys are lighter then all the other HP's. Sonos also feel premium. Sonys can feel alittle cheap. Sonos can use some improvements . Given time i hope they do.

I've been a Sonos system geek for over a decade with my whole house wired and wireless and at my fingertips. I held out but finally added ACE to the system and love that I can use while watching TV and everyone else can listening to the soundbar and speakers. They deliver fantastic sound and great voice clarity. They are also most comfortable headphones I've ever owned!

I’ve owned Bose Quiet Comforts and I like these even more. Sale price is sweet spot though, full price to me is too much. The handoff wirh Sonos arc is really great and an added bonus. Very comfortable and stylish. My only gripe is volume when connected via jack on an airplane is too low.

LOVE MY SONOS. The sounds quality is great. Super comfortable, long lasting battery life. Best part is the ease of use from switching the sound from the Sonos speakers to headphones instead.
