Very good speaker. The mid-range is clear. I purchased a second one to use as surround sound.
Next step up from Sonos Play – missing Google Asst

This speaker sounds great. It was super easy to setup and add to my Sonos app. Took literally just a minute or 2 to add. I have other Sonos speakers so already had the app downloaded, but adding it is a breeze.
What’s great is after you name the room you have it in and setting the bass and treble to your liking in the app - you are ready to rock, literally. Bluetooth connectivity was a snap and the Sonos app easily lets you push your music all over the house to this and other Sonos speakers flawlessly and in sync.
I tried all kinds of music and whether it’s bass heavy rap, rock, alt, dance, acoustic, jazz, classical, etc. they all sounded great and it’s a significant sound improvement over the Sonos One.
It’s a bit bigger (maybe twice the width) of the Sonos One but has a much more spatial and a “full” sound to it.
One note on placement - I tried it on a kitchen island and the bass was a little underwhelming. Then I moved it to near a wall to let the rear of the speaker have something to bounce / reflect off of and that's the bass magic. So recommend setting or mounting near a wall or corner for it to really reflect off of.
So far 2 cons for me:
1) There is no option for Google assistant. We’re a Google house and this only supports Alexa and its own Sonos voice control. That said – I can tell my Google Homes and Sonos One’s via their Google assistant to play music to this speaker.
2) The other is I’ll have to upgrade my Sonos home theater Playbar with the new Sonos Arc to take advantage of the 7.1 Dolby Atmos that this speaker can pump out.
If you are just setting up your home theater and going with the Arc, you’ll be happy with these as your Atmos surround.
If you just want this as a great sounding spatial speaker in a room it really fills it up on its own.

I chose the Sonos Era 300 Smart Speaker after comparing it with several other high-end wireless speakers, and it stands out for several reasons.
From the moment you unbox it, the design feels premium — the matte black finish looks sleek and modern and blends easily with any décor. Sonos has built a reputation for craftsmanship, and this model continues that tradition.
Where the Era 300 really excels is audio performance. With multiple drivers arranged for wide sound dispersion, it produces rich, detailed audio that seems to fill the room from all directions. The spatial audio support (including Dolby Atmos when using compatible streaming services) adds another dimension to your music and movies — vocals are clear, instruments have space to breathe, and the overall soundstage feels much larger than you’d expect from a speaker of this size.
The speaker pairs effortlessly with other Sonos devices, so if you already have a Sonos ecosystem, this fits right in. Trueplay tuning (with supported devices) adapts the sound to your room, which ensures balanced audio whether placed on a shelf or in an open space.
Smart features are solid: integrated voice assistants let you control playback with your voice, and the Sonos app provides a smooth experience for setup and tuning. Streaming service support is broad and reliable.
Connectivity is flexible — Wi-Fi for multi-room playback, Bluetooth for quick pairing, and AirPlay support for Apple devices. Battery life is strong if you opt for the portable version (battery sold separately).
Overall, the Era 300 strikes a fantastic balance between cutting-edge audio technology, stylish design, and everyday usability. For anyone who wants exceptional spatial sound and smart speaker convenience, it’s a standout choice — especially within the Sonos ecosystem.
