It is a nice speaker but I don’t think the value is there for the money. I much prefer 2 Era 100 speakers to this.

I wanted to love these speakers but couldn’t. The wireless functionality and ease of set up is amazing. The sound quality is just average and not worth the price tag. Much better options for 1000 a pair.

These speakers are good, but they don't pack the punch I thought they would compared to my Sonos One speakers. For more than double the price I thought they would blow me away. Not!

Great sound but it has to be plugged into the wall. For that I had to only rate it as 3 stars and actually return it. Sonos makes great products but was looking to utilize this more as an upgraded portable speaker.

For sure, this is a good speaker, but for tge price, and all of tge online hype, i feel slightly let down. I have an Arc,several OneSL’s, symphonisk wall speakers, and several subs. I am familiar with Sonos products. At low volumes, it does sound fantastic, but the louder you turn it up, the more noticable the DSP becomes. Especially in tge low end. Im going to buy a second one to see if a pair will help even everything out.

I completely misunderstood this product when requesting it for Father's Day. I heard Sonos was great and when I heard you could have multiple speakers wirelessly, I misunderstood Sonos Five as a five speaker set. Then I tried returning it and it had to be returned within a two week window, which I missed because Father's Day was 3 days outside that window. I reluctantly kept it and tried it out only to find that it does not utilize Bluetooth. You have to download the Sonos app and you are at the mercy of their software. It only does streaming and will not play songs downloaded to my iPhone. If I want to play music from my phone, I have to manually plug it in to my iPhone. If I had known all of this prior to purchasing, I would have never bought it.

Hi, and thank you for your review. The Sonos Five is a part of the Sonos system which is where the confusion may have come from. Via wifi you can have up to 32 of our products together in a system to play the same thing everywhere you different songs in different rooms. We do not have bluetooth in our products (other than our portable products) because wifi offers the best quality and more reliable streaming experience. Bluetooth is great for on-the-go, however it has a few limitations that limit the sound/usability experience. Keep in mind that you can airplay the songs from your apple music library that are downloaded on your phone to our products. Feel free to reach out to us at sonos.com/support if you'd like any help. We think you'll really like it once you get the hang of it! john.milton

Good sound, but too little by itself for a good sized room. Definitely need two or more of these to not feel the sound is too big for the speaker in a big room. Going to in-ceiling instead.

Sounds good. Read carefully Bluetooth only used for setup. Needs WiFi and a network. Bought a Bose S1 pro for the same money. I thinks the S1 is a better choice.

It sounds like the setup process for the Sonos Five was frustrating. Here are some steps you can take if you decide to try again or for others encountering similar issues:

Check the Basics: Make sure the speaker is powered on and connected to your Wi-Fi network. Ensure that your phone or tablet is on the same network.

Sonos App: Ensure you have the latest version of the Sonos app. Updates can include bug fixes and improvements.

Setup Instructions: Review the setup instructions in the Sonos app or online. Sometimes, following the step-by-step guide provided in the app can help clarify the process.

Power Cycle: Turn off the Sonos Five, wait for about 10 seconds, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is working properly. If possible, try restarting your router.

Reset the Speaker: If you’re still having trouble, consider performing a factory reset. For the Sonos Five, hold down the connect button while plugging in the power. Continue holding until the light flashes orange and white, then release. This will reset the speaker to its factory settings.

Contact Support: If you’re still having issues, contacting Sonos customer support might be helpful. They can provide more detailed troubleshooting steps or identify if there is a specific problem with the device. Find out more at support.sonos.com

If you have any specific issues or error messages that came up during the setup, feel free to share them, and I can offer more tailored advice! john.milton

If you have Android devices, dont even bother with this. Sonos products wont work well with Android devices. Sonos seems not to care as there have been several issues many Android users have brought to Sonos attention, and they say "we are working on it" but its been years and nothing has been done. Just buy Bose, they probably sound better anyway.
