    We got the Sonos Five as a wedding gift and I've been absolutely blown away at the sound quality coming from such a compact package. The amount of deep bass such a tiny package can produce is just mind blowing. In a small to medium sized room I can't imagine you would need a subwoofer. Gets pretty loud as well all while staying super clean. Is it going to replace a two channel setup with a seperate amplifier? Definitely not, but for casual listening this a great speaker. I love music and can appreciate a true 2.0 setup, but it's very hard to beat the ease of use and practicality of a Sonos system. If you're an audiophile maybe go with some good bookshelf speakers and an integrated amplifier. For everyone else the Sonos Five is going to be more than enough for all your needs.

    Did not work upon arrival. Very frustrating. WiFi is fine but could not connect after hours of trying to connect. Returning product. My guess and speaking with service WiFi speakers just not as good as wired. End of story. Don’t frustrate yourself trying to connect and reconnect every time you want to listen to music.

    I never got the merchandise because Best Buy keeps cancelling my orders automatically, no idea why, nobody can tell me, nobody to call just a chat with the same canned responses, you need to do better Best Buy

    Horrible! Just wanted a speaker with Bluetooth capabilities. This requires that an app be uploaded and it only plays what's free on the app or what im willing to purchase from the app

      Hi, and thank you for the review. Correct, or products are designed to work on wifi and wifi only. Unless it's one of our portable speakers. The reason for this is that wifi offers the best fidelity and over best music experience in the home, which is where our products are intended to be used. We don't charge for our app or any features inside of our app. The only thing you pay is to the music services that you would like to use. john.milton

    Awful product. Don't believe the hype - literally the most difficult thing to set up you've ever come across. Wifi won't connect, reset the thing, reset the wifi, reset the app, reconfigure the wifi ... This is with a standard Verizoin WIFI router... and it's not the first time this has happened with a Sonos product either. Someone gave me a Roam - same thing.

    Would not work without giving your location and access to my phone microphone. Sound was low quality compared to other far less expensive speakers I have.

    Mostly this review is towards Best Buy. Recently puchased a Sonos Five open box speaker. It was marked as in excellent condition. No power cord was shipped. Front grill is damaged in several places. Best Buy customer care let me know that power cords are concidered accessories and not included. Any one have a spare power cord for a damaged in excellent condition Sonos so I can see if works?

    Bought this on September 3 today is October 30 little over a month for over $500 this should be a great speaker that last The bass already sounds distorted. Would never buy again and the telling me they will not return it!

    The product was new to me, the brand and all, but as it turned out the speaker was not only good. It was phenomenal. The sound is crystal clear, smooth vibrations, and not to mention compact. The app, which is a necessity for operating the device, is also easy to install and easy to use. This device has indeed changed the way I listen to music and the news.

    Dead out of the box. Didn’t use until a couple months after I purchased since I purchased it for the summer and they wouldn’t accept a return.

    I bought 2 of these speakers for my kitchen/great room area. The sound is amazing! I’ve been really happy with how it sounds (love the bass), but that’s when I can get it to connect! To say we’ve been frustrated is an understatement. With how much we spent on these speakers we didn’t expected that we’d have these many issues with them. They keep cutting out for no reason, or they don’t show up on our computer or phones to even select. We bought a wi-if booster even though we’ve got the top speed internet already. That didn’t work. We paid to have a tech guy come and see if we had things setup well for them and we did. Just yesterday I had to delete the apps and set it up...AGAIN...only to have it stop in the middle of a song for no reason. Then we couldn’t connect to the speakers for the rest of the evening, which we were frustrated about because we had a party and wanted to listen to music. I wish I had spent my money on something that works when it’s supposed to! Buyer beware.

    Sonos makes great speakers. Had the five for a while now. Going strong. Full sound, great bass. I use it outside during cookouts and fills the backyard.

    I’ve owned the speaker for a few years and absolutely love the way it sounds. It already has a stereo spread, but I’m coming back to buy another one so that I can pair them together for true how you doing wide stereo sound. Best Buy Shipped out and delivered in 2 days!
