Customers are positive about the One (Gen 2) Smart Speaker's sound quality, ease of use, and compact size, with many praising its setup process and bass response. However, customers are negative about the lack of Bluetooth connectivity and some inconsistencies with the voice assistant and app functionality. The price point also received mixed reviews, with some finding it a bit high. Overall, the speaker's audio performance is a major selling point, though some features require improvement.

I moved just before the lockdown and had no audio equipment. I did a lot of research on what to get and chose the Sonos-One (Gen 2) speaker. I love it! So essential to have music being that I’ve been alone in my apartment since the lockdown. I am 59 and definitely not tech savvy, but had no trouble setting this up. Currently, I am using Pandora for free streaming music, but I am excited about the many options out there. I am by no means an audiophile, but to me the sound quality is wonderful — clear, crisp, punchy, with adequate bass. Easily loud enough for my apartment. The voice control is also nice, so I can turn it off easily when I get a phone call. Highly recommend this!

Sonos speakers are great for ease of set up and use. Sound quality is pretty good for this little speaker. Voice assistance is cool as well. Only downside is if the WiFi is out you can NOT use this speaker.

These speakers work great and sound really nice. The only thing I wish they had was the ability to play anything from your phone or tablet. They have to play one of the programs that you can set up on them. They are easy to set up and have a lot of adjustments. They are very easy to pair with other sonos speakers.

Sound quality is great, Sonos always puts out a great product for sound. Easy setup and connect to the Sonos app. Depending on your smart eco system ( Alexa Amazon or Google AI) will determine your capabilities and limitations. I started off with Alexa and it worked great, no issues, I just prefer Google Assistant because in my opinion, GA has more personality. Either one connects with most of the home smart devices: It works with my Hue lights, Nest thermostat, Samsung TV and my Vivint Security system. Amazon Alexa will not let you change the wake up word on this device, only on its Amazon devices. Google won't let you change it on any device. Overall, great sound, smart capabilities for the price.

Really good sound from these Sonos speakers. Have quite a few 1's, 3's' amps, and have playbar and subs. Most are paired for either improved spacial sound in a room or as 5.1 for TV.
They are an excellent system for multiroom, the app makes it very simple to group as required for simultaneous audio streaming, and the sources library is more than I'll ever need (currently use TuneIn radio, Tidal, Amazon HD, network audio streaming plus more...) I also find the Sonos system works very nicely with Alexa.
Overall, I have been build my Sonos "system" over the last ~10 years and while Amazon streamers are good, they are not remotely close to Sonos for sound quality.

I have a pair of these configured to produce stereo audio. The sound from these speakers is excellent, particularly for what they are. Do they sound as good as my regular audio system, which has a subwoofer? No. However, if you turn up the bass setting and place the treble where you prefer, the quality of the sound is surprisingly good. I don't know that it gets excessively loud, but its more than loud enough for my home. But you can really hear sounds that you may not on lesser speakers.
In addition, I pay for Google Premium, so I have paid access to YouTube Music premium. It works flawlessly with the Sonos speakers using Google Assistant. Setup was simple and instructions if needed are on the Sonos website. When you "Hey Google", note that sound is produced only by one of the speakers. Music and other audio is through both.
Well done by Sonos. They have the best audio quality for my needs. I looked at Bose for a higher price, but they couldn't do the Google Assistant and YouTube Music thing. I asked them directly on chat. This is a somewhat nascent area, so don't take my word for it. Things can change very quickly. I recently heard Bose was moving in the direction of increased Google Assistant compatibility.

Good Speakers, buggy software/integration

I bought 3 to add speakers to my SmartThings / Alexa environment. Primary reason was to have speakers integrated because Echo devices don't act as speakers in SmartThings and I wanted to generate alarms/announcements. The speakers themselves are solid and have good sound. Their app/software is the weak point. Setting up the first speaker took over 2 hours. (should have been less than 10 minutes) I went through the setup myself about 6 times, including reset/start-over before giving up and contacting Sonos tech support. They repeated the steps a couple times before digging into my network and determining there were some settings in my Asus router that were interfering. They seemed to have a specific set of instructions for my router as they drove straight to the specific screens in the web interface (factory settings, not something I did). One thing was to turn off the parental controls so if that is something you need it might be a problem for you. Fortunately for me they were no longer needed. They were finally able to get everything working with the first one. Adding the second took about 15minutes on my own as I still had to loop through a reset at least once. The third one went perfect in less than 10 minutes (each speaker went through a software/firmware download - that is the longest part) The integration with my Sirius XM and Spotify accounts was buggy. Each failed the first 2 times I but eventually got XM working.
I gave up on Spotify as I don't use it much anyway. I primarily use the Alexa integration for playing music so you don't have to actually set those up in the Sonos app if you are using Alexa. You will if you want to use the Sonos app. Ultimately I would recommend the Sonos stuff. Your setup may go better than mine but be prepared for a bumpy initial setup.

I have to disclose this is my 4th Sonos speaker and just wanted something in the bathroom to replace my Bose mini. The Bluetooth connection issues with Bluetooth finally made me change. Sonos is the best all around system I have tried and I can’t help but to keep expanding. Very reliable internet connection and the ability to connect all my music apps (Spotify, Pandora, Amazon Music, TuneIn, IHeart and more in the Sonos app is awesome. This is the latest gen of the smallest speaker. It has great sound for the size and you can still hear bass. You can also use touch connections on the top of the speaker for volume, start and stop. Love Sonos. Go buy it already!

This isn't my first Sonos product as I have a Beam and two Play:1's in my living room, however, this is by far my favorite of them. From its sleek, modern design to its shockingly good sound you can't go wrong with this speaker.
Pros:
-Aesthetically Pleasing
-Sounds AMAZING
-Can choose to use Alexa or Google
-Sonos Echosystem - whole house sound
Cons:
-There are some limits to the voice assistant's abilities and Alexa doesn't seem to understand me as well as she did on my dot. But it doesn't bother me enough to knock off a star.
If you want a good looking and even better sounding speaker this is the one for you.

I returned an Amazon Echo Studio for this and there have been no regrets. The studio started acting up after a couple days and would become unresponsive. Our Sonos One has worked flawlessly since it was first plugged in and set up. The sound that comes out is very very impressive overall and not just for it's size as many have commented. Plenty of volume to fill either a bedroom or midsized room just the same. First experience with the sonos ecosystem but it will definitely not be the last!

I love this thing! My friend recommended Sonos last year so when I decided to buy some speakers I researched several including Sonos. For me, I wanted ease of set up and ease of use. I also didn't care about the built in voice commands, but figured I would get one speaker for my kitchen that had that capability. Set up was the easiest thing possible for a speaker that uses an app. Very well done. And the sound is great. I am a big fan of their app. Very intuitive to me. I then purchased two more of the Sonos One SL (without the microphone) for other rooms and synced one of them to play with this one for stereo sound. Again, super easy to set up and make changes as needed, like when I want to move it to another room and have it as a separate speaker. Also, my kids figured out that if we stop the music in a room on the speaker or from the app, they can touch the top of the speaker to restart it where it was turned off. So I have a kids music playlist set for their playroom and they can start and stop the music themselves without being on the app (which they do not have access too). Also, just found out that they can listen to their playlist upstairs and I can listen to mine downstairs at the same time. (I use Amazon music since it's free with my prime membership, but didn't want the Echo/Dot/Alexa products). Overall it's been great for me, and I plan to buy a couple more for my house over time.

Purchased the Sonos One because I wanted to utilize Alexa but wanted better sound than from my Amazon device. The Sonos One does deliver better sound however the Alexa functions are not up to par to Amazon’s Alexa. The Sonos one picks up sounds like from my tv which is 3feet away that don’t even sound like “Alexa.” Also, when I say a command from 10 feet away, it doesn’t always recognize the command. I usually have to say “Alexa” 2-3 times b4 it recognizes my voice. Another issue I have is the reminders and alarms. I had set several alarms and reminders and when they went off and when I gave the command to stop the alarm, Alexa says “you don’t have any alarms set” and continues to play the alarm sound. It’s only when I go into the Sonos app that I’m able to turn them off which totally defeats the purpose. Speaking of the app, I don’t like having to toggle to the Sonos speaker in the app to play music. I think it may be better with Bluetooth.....which it does NOT have and although I knew that b4 purchasing from doing research on the speaker online I wanted to test it out myself because when I asked an employee at Best Buy if it had Bluetooth, they told me that it did. I even asked if the Bluetooth was just for the initial setup which is what I discovered from my research, and I was told once again that the device has Bluetooth which was untrue to a certain degree. Should’ve trust my own instincts and research. Regardless, I find myself just having to continually go into the Sonos app which once again defeats the purpose.
I also wish the light on top were more visible and had different colors like the Amazon device so that I could ensure when it was actually “listening.”
Other than these things I thought the actual build quality was great and it definitely does sound better than the Amazon device, but it definitely STILL has room for improvement. All my negatives outweigh the positives so I think I will be finding the Sonos One a new owner if I’m not able to return it and picking up another Amazon Alexa and maybe get the sub as well to achieve the sound I like. Btw, the price was questionable considering the fact that it pretty much went unchanged from the previous gen. Makes more sense to keep the original price and lower the price of previous gen.
Hope this helps someone.

Sonos speakers sound amazing, adapt to your room, look very sleek and can be connected to each other throughout the house. For those wanting a voice assistant, this speaker has the added advantage of being able to do both google voice or Alexa depending on your preference. Set up is easy, sound is always full with nice punchy bass, and Alexa for me is responsive majority of the time. Don’t buy either Amazon’s nor Google’s native devices as they don’t even come close to the quality of sound from this thing.
