Sonos is an AMAZING, AWESOME, INCREDIBLE speaker system. It BLOWS AWAY any Bluetooth devices, and even the Sound quality on the PLAY:1 is SO Outstanding, I'm actually using it in a room larger than recommended and it STILL SOUNDS phenomenal. I am a big music lover and these selection of streaming services available are pretty much all inclusive. The ability to control the speakers from every device makes it so appealing. AND, the ease of being able to FREE my PHONE make it the best device out there. TRULY GREAT! The only downside(s) if there are any lie in the streaming service's restrictions themselves (I can't blame the Sonos) I.E. you can only stream your Sirius Channels on ONE speaker at a time, so you can't have Howard 100 on in one room and CoffeeHouse in the other. And you can't quickly switch between Pandora Subscriber logins. Maybe they will resolve the Sirius issue one day, (b/c I like to have two different Sirius Channels tuned, and this allows just one) and I have heard that the Pandora switching may eventually be added. So great, Ive convinced two friends already to go Sonos. They LOVE THEIRS TOO!

When we had our home built, we chose to use the Sonos product for through home sound. So far it has been a good decision. I bought the Play:1 to get a feel for how easy it is to connect separately purchased items with our existing system. Surprisingly, it was extremely easy. I bought 2 Play:1 speakers and set up one in my office and one in owner's bath. I can walk through most parts of the house and have the music of my choice playing wherever I am. For me, it turns that boring silent time I usually spend repetitively completing mundane tasks into a more lively time. I'm still completing the same boring tasks, but now I am doing so to some of my favorite music. The ability to group the different speakers is what I like most. I never have to turn on another speaker system, then find the music I was already listening to because I changed rooms. I simply group my speakers, and within a few seconds, I'm listening to the same song in a different part of the house. I plan to get the playbar and sub to set up the 5.1 surround sound. So far, great speaker and system.

I was looking for a speaker to put in the kitchen so the wife and kids could enjoy music while sitting/working in there. The Sonos 1 absolutely delivers 99% of what I was looking for. It's an easy set up - pull out of the box, plug in, download Sonos app on to phone, sync, and play. It took no more than five minutes. The speaker has brilliant sound at all levels - treble, bass, etc. I was only looking for something to play music, so I wasn't particularly interested in Google Home or Amazon Alexa. I wanted good sound, and that is exactly what Sonos does. I have just two minor issues (but not big enough to not give a 5 star rating). First, Sonos still hasn't teamed up to stream the free services. It does Spotify, but only paid Spotify. I have enough music in my library that I can be okay just playing the stuff I own. My other issue is now I almost wish I would have gotten the Play 3. I say this because the Play 1 has such good sound, I can only imagine what a little bigger speaker would do. However, the Play 3 is more than I'd like to spend, so I am still very happy with the Play 1.

I added this and several other Play:1 units to my existing Sonos system. I already had two Play 1's that comprise the Left and Right rear channels for my home theater setup that consists of a Sonos Playbar and Sonos Sub. This unit was added as a standalone for another small room. I am amazed at the amount of sound and punchy bass this little thing produces - far more powerful (and less expensive) than the Bose Revolve Plus bluetooth speaker it replaced. Integration with the very nice Sonos App was seamless. Integration with Alexa also works, although takes a little studying to figure out how to have Alexa manage the various Sonos groups you set up. Overall very pleased and loving the Sonos ecosystem.

Pros: * No bluetooth. The speakers easily connect to wi-fi and will play music independent of bluetooth and your mobile device. Batteries are happy. * Apps on most mobile and desktop devices have a wonderful interface that makes controlling the speaker a snap. * The attractive speakers only have three buttons that are conveniently placed, but do not disrupt the good looks. There is a volume up, volume down, and a pause/play button. What I love is that if you silence your speakers when leaving the house with the pause/play button, hitting the button when you return home will pickup wherever you left off. * The supply of internet radio stations seems to be endless. * Multiple Play 1 speakers can play independent of each other or can be easily grouped so that they are all playing the same thing in sync. Cautions: * While the speaker will play independent of your devices, the Sonos app on your device is needed to manage the Speaker (searching for stations, grouping speakers, adjusting bass and treble, etc.). Be sure you have a device compatible to use the Sonos app. Without the app, the speaker cannot be used. I love this speaker!

The Sonos sound system products are truly amazing technology. You can read for yourself how their products work. At the same time, you don't have to be technology oriented at all to use the powerful features. They simply configure themselves using a smartphone app (I use iPhone). The app is simple, easy to figure out and navigate. I don't even have medium or big speakers. I have a pair of PLAY:1 in the den, a pair in the kitchen, one in the bedroom and one in my office. I added them gradually over time. I also have the CONNECT, which lets me bridge music into my home stereo system. They sound awesome and stay perfectly in sync. They are not cheap, but they're worth every penny. The Sonos Desktop Controller app on my Mac immediately discovered my iTunes library. Now, on a whim, I can choose from any song, album, artist, - even radio stations - from the iPhone app and immediately start enjoying great sound, anywhere in the house. I love them. I think they hit the perfect match of advanced technology and simplicity.

I originally purchased a Play: 3 and I wound up LOVING it, but I wanted more versatility in the system, so decided to replace it with a pair of Play: 1's - what a good decision that was. I have them setup in the dining room, but one of them is in a spot that I can easily grab it and move it to another room or out to the patio. By itself, I'd say this speaker is almost on par with the Play: 3, with maybe a tiny bit less bass, but what bass does exist is way more punchy. Kick drums sound amazing. But, the real kicker, when you want to be blown away by music, is to place them about 8-10 feet apart, pair them in stereo, and use the trueplay tuning for the room. Once that's done, prepare to we absolutely wowed by their awesomeness. I can stand/sit in the sweet spot and just enjoy the soundstage. I'm so glad I listened to other people who said to try the stereo pair. I am not at all sorry I made the exchange.

I'm a huge fan of Sonos. While there are plenty of streaming platforms, Sonos is the smoothest and connects to all streaming services. Setup is simple and the sound is spectacular for such a small speaker (about half the size of a shoe box). Even streaming music to just the one speaker can fill a small room. However, I primarily use them as surrounds in my 5.1 Sonos setup. I own a Playbase, Sub, and two Play:1's and together they are my 5.1 setup. The Play 1's are perfect additions and really do everything that you'd want from satellites. That said, the idea of using Sonos as a 5.1 has its ups and downs. The ups are that my wife loves the lack of wires and the sound is rich and vibrant. The downs are that its limited to just Dolby (no atmos or DTS) and there can be issues with voice synch.

We purchased two Sonos players because we knew friends who had some and told us how they work together and independently. When we learned it wasn't bluetooth we almost changed our minds but decided to get them anyway. Once they arrived we were happy with all the music choices (Sonos specific stations along with local and national radio stations) and it allowed for downloading your own music into the music library, so we were happy with our purchase. However, just a couple of weeks ago there was an update which now allows for streaming Pandora and Spotify through the speakers. Now we are more than happy with our purchase and would recommend these speakers to anyone interested in filling their house with music. The only thing that has caused us some grief was trying to relocate the speakers to a different WiFi spot, we didn't realize that the speakers had to be hardwired into the new network first. The speakers came with the wire but since we didn't realize this we didn't take them with us. Lesson learned.

I've been looking at Sonos speakers for months - reading reviews, listening in stores, asking friends who have them - but I kept putting off the purchase because I have 2 Bose Soundlink Bluetooth speakers, and I thought the Sonos speakers were 1) expensive, and 2) would be redundant to the Bose. But when I had accumulated enough Best Buy MyRewards points, I finally bought the Sonos. Wow! I love it! While it's not as portable as the Bose, the sound is fantastic and it's easier to use. Not that the Bose is hard, but it does require you to connect your playing device via Bluetooth. With the Sonos, once you connect it to your network, it's always ready to play. Just press the button and it starts playing. I love that! I have it in my bathroom so I can listen to music while taking a shower. With the Bose, it was always a several-minute ordeal to get everything connected and ready to play (Bluetooth, Spotify/Pandora/Google Music), but the Sonos fires up immediately. Now I'm eager to add another Sonos to put in our kitchen.

My wife and I have the Sonos Soundbar and sub, plus two of these Play:1's. The soundbar and sub sound amazing by themselves. Once we added the Play:1's for surround sound Dolby 5.1, everything sounds that much better. We had an electrician come out to add a plug on the wall for each Play:1. Bought a pair of mounts off Amazon and everything looks great. We play music a lot and having these for surround sound has really added to the overall experience in the living room. The app works really well and is user friendly. You can adjust how much sound you want to come out of these rear speakers for TV and music. I have mine turned just about all the way up because I like hearing them at all times. Obviously adding these as mounted rear speakers isn't easy since they need constant power, but it's totally worth the money and effort. You'll be glad you added them.

I bought two Sonos 1's along with a Playbar to create a surround system for my TV without having wires running all over the place. I read lots of reviews etc. as let's face it, the Sonos kit doesn't come cheap. I honestly can't say too much about the Sonos 1's. They work extremely well as rear surrounds with the Playbar, but the sound quality of the system I have created just blows my mind with it's warmth and depth and instrument detail that I haven't heard in... 30 years from a NAD amp and speakers (dunno if NAD made it to the US, but are a good niche brand in the UK). So yeah, like the Playbar review I just posted, to quote Pulp Fiction "You'll know where the extra money went" with the Sonos kit. Note, as I am an apartment dweller I didn't get the Sonos Subwoofer to round off the 5.1 setup and in this relatively small space, the 1's and Playbar don't need any extra bass... unless you really hate your neighbors!

This is my first step into the Sonos ecosystem and I have been impressed this far. I originally purchased a black starter set but then decided to exchange for a white set which looks better in my home. The speakers have a really solid build quality and thoughtful design. Setup is a breeze and Sonos goes out of their way to make it easy for anybody to set up. Once you have one set up, additional addition Sonos products takes no time at all. I currently have 2 Play:1s set up in two different rooms and also have a Play:3 set up in the living room. Sound quality on the Play:1 is good and really packs some good bass for their size. The Sonos app is pretty straightforward and after adding some services like Pandora, Spotify, and iHeart Radio, you are good to go. Just open up the app and start playing music. I did have some difficulty to begin with in understanding how the queue worked, but I eventually figured it out. I have been happy with my purchase and look forward to using Sonos for years to come.

I got one of these to try and out and eventually to get a second to add to my existing Playbar for Surround Speakers. Anyone know Sonos will not be surprised by the quality of this item even the packaging is impressive. I had a little issue that may have been self inflicted with set up that require me to reboot my Bridge and Playbar but once I did set up went through quickly and easily. While this might seem a little pricy but the quality of this player as well as the whole Sonos ecosystem is well worth it. The sound quality of this little guy is extremely impressive and is on par with my Play 5s. I would highly recommend getting giving one a try, they have a very generous return policy.

I won't get into what the Sonos system is here because that info is fairly easy to find on their website and other places. I have a Play 1, 3, & 5. I love all of them. They are almost the simplest thing in the world to setup and use, especially in this day and age it's a welcome relief to plug something in and have it work. As expected the Play 1 isn't as strong as the 3 or 5 but for it's size I believe it performs very well. If you have a small kitchen that isn't part of an open floor plan, office, bathroom, or bedroom that isn't gigantic the Play 1 will suit your needs perfectly. It's small enough to hide or just put in a book case. The only choice you really need to make is how loud do you want your music. If you are thinking louder than most I would go with a Play 3 but the Play 1 is more than enough for what it's supposed to do. The only minor downside is it costs a descent bit but I believe that cost is made up for the ease of use. Speakers that cost less and sound better are, in my experience, hard to setup and integrate.

I knew I wanted a decent sounding speaker for in-home use, not something that was portable, battery-powered, and/or Bluetooth. I felt that these features would detract from sound quality. After some research and polling friends, I settled on a Sonos One. Upon unpackaging the speaking, you get a sense of fine craftsmanship from the heft and care. Set up was pretty easy. Hardest part was getting the app to sync up with my desktop music library of 30k+ songs. I encountered an issue, but Sonos' tech support knew right away that it was a firewall issue, helped resolve the problem. Since then I added a second and now third Sonos One. SUPER easy to add on once the initial set up is done. And the sound is incredible with substantial bass. Great product. If you're thinking about it, pull the trigger and start enjoying your music.

I already own a complete Sonos surround sound set-up in my living room, but I was missing the sound quality in my other rooms, so I bought two of these to get wireless stereo sound in my bedroom. I read the online reviews, and what Consumer Reports had to say (they rate Sonos as currently NUMBER ONE and RECOMMENDED), and when the holiday discount prices started coming up, I knew I couldn't wait any longer. Pros: App control Music service selection Sound quality Ease of making a stereo pair great bass sound, without a sub Auto room sound tuning Turn the power lights off for better nights sleep Needs Improvement: No AirPlay capability Can't air Sonos One with Sonos Play:1 (WTF) No direct input, so only what you can control in the app can be played I now own six Sonos speakers, and will absolutely continue to buy them... they are fantastic if you love rich, deep sound.

The Sonos system is by far the best whole house sound system that has ever been made. The sound that comes out of this Play 1 will make you twist your face in awe! You will think to yourself, "how can all this sound be coming out of such a tiny thing?" Well its true and each time I turn this thing on, it makes me want to buy another one. Setup: I have our Play 1 in the Kitchen on the counter top near the toaster. Yes, you have to keep it plug in at all times. Yes, it is always connected to the wifi in your home. Yes, it is amazing every single time. I basically turn it on with my iPhone through the Sonos app, and use Slacker Radio with it. I pump up my music while doing the dreaded dishes!! This thing is a life saver. Without the music, my wife will tell you I detest doing the dishes. With my Play 1, I look forward to it.. no I don't look forward to doing the dishes, just to turning on my Play 1. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product and the entire SONOS ecosystem!

We love sonos products, but they were a little pricey so we started with one play 5. It was awesome. We stopped using the few built in speakers with our home and tossed out all our other portable speakers about a year ago, fast forward to this year and they introduced this baby. I was skeptical because it was much smaller and less expensive. My husband loved his Christmas gift he didn't even know they came out with the play one. We plugged it in and used it in our basement. We loved it so much that we bought another one and if we want a grand sound in the basement we use both on separate ends of the room for a flawless sound system and it's so portable we use it sometimes in the bedroom. Needless to say we will be buying one more for our master suite. The many apps that is compatible with are magnificent. Our favorites are MOG, Pandora and spotify. Good luck. Don't wait just, just buy. I guarantee you will get your $200 worth. I used some of my rewards certificates I accrued and paid $160 for a great item.

I bought this with the Sonos sub woofer and Sonos Play bar. These components work together as a system and the Play One's make a nearly perfect set of back speakers. Mid and upper range sound is excellent. Teamed with the sub woofer, it is a full spectrum audio system. I did a lot of research and considered getting the Play 3's as the back speakers, and listened to those in the store. I'm not sure the 3's add a lot as back speakers, at least in my home setting with the subwoofers I purchased. The 3's have broader range, but if you are incorporating the Sonos subwoofer with the Play 1's, I believe you'll save money and if you really want the 3's- great- get them and put them in another room where you'll appreciate them. These are small, attractive speakers that put out great sound. My nephew is a pro musician and a techie and was blown away by the sound quality of these speakers when paired with the subwoofer and the Play bar.
