The sonos setup/app/music streaming is amazing. Using the app I'm able to pair the speaker easily and get it up and running and playing music. It just works. We have our connected to an Echo Dot on the line in which works well--in addition to the amazing sonos sound.

We are really enjoying having speakers all over the house (Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, Den, Office, Bedroom). We haven't tried to have different stations in each room yet, but it's so nice to have music playing everywhere. We put this Sonos 5 in our Den in a position for it to send sound into the adjoining kitchen & front hallway. Very nice sound, too. Sonos 3 in the LR. Sonos Play One in all other rooms.

The clarity and ease of setup was worth the cost of the speakers. These provide an additional use of iphone and ipad music along with great content from Spotify. Both floors of our house now have music from the three speakers strategically placed in our family room, library, and bedroom. The packaging of speakers to prevent damage was well thought out and the instructions for installation were extremely simple.

Wanted to get a decent wireless speaker for home and after looking at many different options decided to go for the SONOS. Was looking originally at some Bluetooth speakers and they sounded OK, but just OK. When I then moved onto this speaker it was a huge difference in clarity and overall sound. a couple of hundred $ more than I was originally looking at paying but overall was certainly worth the extra money. Now I can play my music whenever I want and also works with the various music streaming services and apps. After buying this decided to finally sign up for Apple Music and they work seamlessly together. Also the other great thing is I can link to my phone or my computer and switching between the two very simple. Love it!!!

I'm 100% happy and satisfied with my Sonos -sound is amazing and works perfectly when paired with my other Sonos:1. I know it's expensive, but I will never regret buying it. My wife and I listen to so much more music right now. We really love it. The app probably need some improvement, but it will get there. The good thing about the Sonos:5 is that you can connect a Google Chromecast in the Line In.

Bose was the former standard for home entertainment was Bose but his renew of an already solid Sonos 5 play is even better and blows the Soundtouch out of the water this is the only model of the play series that has an audio jack so is you want to attach and Airport Express to give you native Airport Airplay then this is the only model you choose and was the deal breaker for me. Don't ge me wrong the Sonos app is really good but for search functionality nothing is going to beat a native app. Bose sound touch series no longer has Airplay so that kind of soured me on Bose again. The Bass on this is just fantastic and you can crank this up to neighbor hating levels and it won't distort at all unlike the Bose which does distort at high levels. With Bose you have to rely on Bluetooth a lot if you use Apple music which kind of defeats the purpose of a hifi speaker in this price range.

The Sonos - Play 5 is an absolutely amazing speaker system that produces completely immersive sound quality that will continue to amaze you time and time again. The highs and mids are spot on perfect and the lows with pleasantly surprise you with low notes that you don't normally hear on other speaker systems. The sound that comes from this somewhat compact unit will make you look around the room and say that can't be coming from that speaker. The unit is heavy and very solid. It is obvious that the build quality is first class. I own many Bose products and compared this unit with the Bose SoundTouch 30 and its sound quality didn't even come close after careful listening of each unit. The Bose does does have heavy bass, a remote, and some other nice features but the highs and overall sound quality of the Sonos made it an easy decision.

This speaker has a full range of sound and good bass also. I'm very happy with it.

I traded in the Play5 Gen1 for these and the Play5 Gen2 sound sooo much better. Better stereo image and bass. Other than that they connected with ease as Sonos is easy to set up and manage.

This speaker is worth every penny. The sound is incredible as well as the bass. It's easy to set up and use. I love that it can be controlled through the sonos app. We love using it outside while BBQing to listen to baseball games or music.

As long as it is with in your budget, the Sonos Play 5 is easy to recommend in the field of wireless music speakers. While Bluetooth speakers are convenient, wifi speakers seemed to assure better performance. Everything about the Play 5 is premium, from the sound to the packaging. The initial setup was pretty quick following the instructions, downloading the app to my iPhone, and i was up and running. The mids and highs are clear and crisp. The lows are deep enough thump that I still haven't been brave enough to turn it up to max for fear of getting a noise compliant. Most of the time I have to leave the volume level well below 50% in the living room. The only negative issues that I have had were with my old router that my internet service provider had provided, it kept dropping the connection. When I switched to my router the problem was solved.

I've tried many different combinations of speaker systems and I kept coming back to the Play 5. It's able to reproduce sounds in music that I don't hear in other speakers. The bass level is also very impressive. The wifi reception is also pretty amazing as I have tried this speaker in several different rooms and even outside for a backyard party and never once did this speaker lose a connection. In fact, I think several people at the party may have ended up buying this product after hearing it at the party. Having the ability to control volume, skip songs and play/pause right on top is also more useful that I was expecting. It also has an audio in jack, which the other Sonos speaker do not, so you can use the Play 5 to get audio out of a TV if you don't have Playbar or Playable (which I do).

Splurged on a pair of Sonos Play 5’s. Exceeded wildest expectations of audio quality and bass fullness. Incredibly articulate. Worth ever cent as you get large speaker sound in small easily concealable package.
