A relative and reviews sparked me to get 2 play 5s. As soon as I unpacked them I was totally wowed even without being tuned to the room. I got the sub the next day. I took the easy way out to set up using my mimo router dhcp and was listening yo music for the first time as I got all the tonality I wanted and expected from the speakers. Once I got the stands that were made for them I tuned the speakers with truplay and these sound as great if not better than some of the pricier wired systems I listened to in a room that was set up for listening ( whisch is not reaslistic compared to in-home acoustics). I would recommend them to any audiophile who wants the convenience of a solid wireless unit without having to go through the hassles of installing a behind the wall wired system which typically doubles the price of a system. There is a "connect" device for those who want to add there analogue devices to the wireless setup that can then be controlled by the "line in" source from the app. One word of note, truplay only works with iOS and not android.

This is my first Sonos product. Simple setup. Love the sound quality and features. We use an Echo Dot to connect with Alexa for voice comnmands that work well for the most part. My 3 year old even requests her favorite songs/artists and Alex responds correctly. The app controller sometimes has difficulty connecting. Have since purchased two Sonos One's as well. Be careful, once you buy one Sonos product, it is difficult to resist buying more!

Several months ago I bought a pair of Play 1's. They were good, and I wondered whether a single Play 5 would be at least as good. Well the 5 is very good by itself, and with very good volume for a larger room. I understand that it would be even better when paired with a second Play 5, but I doubt that I will need to pair since this one by itself is so good. I'm also looking forward to test out the 5 with its audio input jack which the 1 doesn't have.

For a single speaker, this one delivers excellent sound - clear at any volume and has great bass. The app works well and the speakers are easy to set up. My only gripe is that the app offers features for Apple devices that are not offered on other platforms, but the key features are there on my Android. I would love to get a second to pair with the first for true stereo sound, but at $500 each, this one sounds good enough on its own!

If you re wanting clean crisp sound with bass that is not annoying.. This is the system to get.. I recommend the play 5 if you want to connect external media players such as tecord players and so forth.. I personally use a blutooth transmitter receiver on both ends, one with low lactency and it sounds great as can be.. Of course web content will be in higher definitions. But overall one of the best speakers I have ever bought

I bought one and then a second Sonos Play 5. The setup was eay and intuitive. I use Apple Music as my main source foe the speakers. The tone, highs mids and lows are well produced and the sound is almost flawless. I've been purchasing stereo and speakers for over 40 years, and have lived through all the formats since 8 track. This is the best stereo product I have heard, and after a couple months I am still impressed.

I had heard good things about Sonos, so elected to go all in with a Play 1, Play 3, Play 5 and PlayBar. Super easy to set up and very good sound for all-day listening. The Play 5 has a robust bottom end and works well with the Play 1 to fill a large (15x30) Living Room.

Wow! I've been looking at Sonos for a year now, reading all the reviews, and justifying to myself the expense. I took the plunge and WOW it is all that the 5-star reviews say. Great sound, easy to setup, great integration with music services, feels quality, and easy to use (even for my non-techy wife). Worth the price, take the plunge. I purchased this 'open-box' and it came, looks, and works as new; will do it again.

After a lot of research, I decided to give Sonos a shot, and I'm glad I did. The Play 5 has great sound quality, was extremely easy to set up and use, and provides great flexibility for future upgrades and expansion. Pros: + Great sound. The bass response is particularly impressive for this size speaker system. + Easy to set up and use. Was up and running in about 5 minutes. + The controlling app is good and simple to use. + Sonos will be around for future expansion and product support. They seem to be committed to improving products and services long term. Cons: - You can only access online services that are supported by Sonos. Currently no NPR One or Audible support, though Sonos says they are working on it. - Priced higher than some competitors, but Sonos offers some features that others cannot match. I would highly recommend going with Sonos for a wireless music system.

amazing sound out of this thing! i had some friends over and had the play 5 running. one of them asked where the sound was coming from...i pointed to the speaker and they walked around trying to find another source. said it sounded like a tower with a sub, mid, and tweets were hiding somewhere! a little pricey, but worth it when it takes the place of something many many times its size.

Very easy to set up and sounds great. Takes up very little space. We love it.

I got this speaker for my bedroom, which is a large room, but i probably didn’t need this powerful of a speaker, however I love it. I’m a sonos gal, and this speaker was a great addition to the house. I’ll be purchasing more of these for sure. I have a couple of Play:1 speakers which are great for smaller spaces, but this one has a much greater depth.

Bought my dad these because I thought he needed good speakers. Little bit of background, both me and my dad are professionally trained classical musicians. We are very picky about the speakers we listen to and believe that it is very hard to find good portable speakers. These absolutely surpassed anything we have heard before. We were not fans of the original Play 5's but these are astounding. Excellent sound quality, excellent range. You can EQ the speakers, or stereo them and they sound great. They even have sound calibration if you tend to be on a certain side of the room they are in. The app is seamless, even my mom can use it without getting confused which is saying a lot. We all love the speakers and the system.

Have used sonos bridge and connrct for my prior house with built in sound system and it worked well. Now have moved and was looking for an economical way to get great sound throughout the home. This product does exactly that. Easy to set up. Great sound. True sound set up was also simple, though only minimal adjustments were needed for the room the Sonos 5 is in (14 x 20).

I would highly recommend the Sonos sound system for the everyday music listener to the once in a while music listener. I have added this gen 2 Play 5 to my system and it is absolutely worth every penny. This new Play 5 blows the doors off the gen 1 Play 5. It is VERY loud and VERY crisp. If you like music do not hesitate and start your Sonos system today.

This speaker truly gives you the listening experience you'd expect! I can't believe how powerful this speaker is for any occasion. Definitely better than BOSE alone for the controller app that SONOS has to control the speaker with.

We purchased two of these for our business. The ability to change the music from our phones or computer for our customers is invaluable. They put out some amazing sound! And loud!! There is also an input jack in the back as well. Wish there was Bluetooth capability but it really isn’t needed with how consistent they are.

This speaker delivers amazingly good sound for such a compact package. It also has an effective stereo spread built into its design. My one minor complaint with the Sonos system, which overall is a wonderful way of networking speakers throughout a multi-room listening area, is that the app which one is unfortunately required to use to make it work is not easy to navigate, as things aren't clearly labeled and you have to poke around to figure out where things are. (If there are clear instructions on how to access menus, pages and functions I have yet to find them.) This system seems to be tailored for online music listening. I mainly use this to play an analog line level signal from my turntable and cd player, using the Sonos Connect I bought along with it. (I have yet to try the 1/8" analog input on the back.) This works fine, but anyone planning to use the Sonos system for DJ, karaoke or live music of any kind should know that the system introduces a 70 millisecond audio delay so that all networked speakers are in synch with each other, and this might make using it in conjunction with real-time audio problematic.

Added these to replace my play 3's with my sound bar and sub. Incredible surround sound. Pricey, but great sound. I have 15 Sonos products now! Simply addictive.

Forget Bose the Sonos PLAY 5 is so far beyond any sound from Bose. We have had Sonos before and loved it so much that I decided to get the new Play 5 for my husband for Christmas, not only is it easy to set up but you can run it from your smart phone, iPad etc. Go to the store and listen to it I guarantee you too will buy one.
