I bought this in order to incorporate my turntable into my living room surround because I have sonos throughout my house except my living room where I have a traditional surround sound av receiver. Since my receiver ran out of RCA ports and doesn't have a phono input, I was finally able to connect my turntable into my port which connected to my receiver and now my living room surround is now sonos incorporated and I can play my records on my turntable and group all my other sonos zones in my house so my records can play in every room of my house, all because of this sonos port! You should definitely get a phono preamp though if you're connecting a turntable into it though because the port inputs aren't amplified like a phono input. Amazing purchase and couldn't be happier!

I had initially wanted a home theater receiver with Sonos compatibility but the simplicity and slightly additional power makes this a better option. I have one channel driving 4 outdoor rock speakers (8” drivers 8 Ohms) wired up in a parallel series. Total resistance on my speakers is roughly 9.2 ohms with a very long cable run. The other channel of the amp is reserved for 4 additional speakers under my patio awning. Most home theater receivers run between 80-100 watts per channel unless you are spending a few grand. Having the Sonos amp gives me more volume than I would have gotten with a standard receiver. Plus the setup is a breeze - especially since the Sonos network was already setup.

    Sonos "Port"

The Sonos "Port" works as it should. You simply connect your device by way of the RCA jacks and follow the set-up directions on your phone. We are using this on a commercial jukebox in a "Bar and Grill" environment. The sound quality from the jukebox was less than satisfactory and when playing through the Sonos system, it sounds fantastic. My customers have really noticed the difference and jukebox revenue has gone up. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is at times, The Port is "slow" to stop the existing music that is playing through IHeart Radio or Sirius XM. It's supposed to do that as soon as it detects the juke box has been played. Consequently we have 2 different songs playing at the same time, but only for a few seconds. The other problem we encountered is lag time. The jukebox still sends the sound signal to it's own speakers in addition to the Sonos system. At times, there is a bit of lag time creating an annoying "echo." Sometimes it will sync up and sometimes it won't. Maybe if Sonos Tech Support sees this, they can give me some hints. By the way, Sonos Tech Support is amazing on previous problems I've encountered with my 3 total systems I have. Been on vacation the last couple of weeks, so haven't had time to present this problem to them!!

3 months in and I really like this product. It has allowed me to pair my sonos speakers with my inhouse speaker system and the sound the two produce combined is awesome. There is no timing differences between native sonos speakers and speakers connected to the amp, its been reliable and was easy to setup. Overall I highly recommend

The SONOS port helped me add a pair of speakers ( the surround rear) to my tele vision which has a play bar and a subwoofer. The set up was easy and intuitive; and the sound of the wired surround rear speakers is coordinated and adds to the front sound without a hitch.

Great solution for blown out Zone 2 on my Denon A/V Receiver. The Sonos Amp is an easy, plug and play solution that allowed me to connected play music through my outdoor speakers without having to purchase another A/V receiver. My Definitive Technology outdoor speakers actually never sounded better — the Sonos Amp must be pushing much more power through to the speakers than my Denon AVR x3200w. If you’re looking to add to your existing Sonos system or you want to use Sonos to play music through existing non-Sonos speakers and you don’t want the added expense of purchasing a separate A/V receiver, this product is for you.

Sonos is the best brand for Media Player. The Port is very easy to set up like all Sonos products and the price is justified by its sound and extra features. Incredibly easy to use and straightforward. In my opinion Sonos products are worth the price. It's pandemic time and I treated myself to an extravagance.

Great Product for existing built in house speakers

My house came with a system of speakers installed in the walls and ceiling of 5 rooms and a pair outside - it was a pain to use because the connected stereo didn't have good reception, the CD player was limited to 5 discs (and who buys discs these days). I would connect my ipad to a line in to stream some music, but even that was a pain - it would time out after a while. Once I got the Arc setup on my tv, I was curious if Sonos had something that would allow me to play music or tv over the speakers around my house. Discovered the Port could be connected to my amplifier to do this! Now I can stream music from the built in apps, from my music library, over airplay... I can even connect the setup on my tv (arc/sub/ones) to the house speakers and listen to the tv all over the house. This is a super easy solution to update existing speakers if you already have an amp. I can even connect a record player to it, but I think I will get a sonos Play 5 to connect to that, then it will have its own speaker as well as being capable of integrating into the house speakers.

I am able to easily play my turntable and a cd player to any of my Sonos speakers throughout the house. I missed the experience of vinyl and cd albums. There’s just something about having a physical disk or record that makes the experience of listening to music…well, an experience. Maybe I’m just nostalgic and dating myself. But I do love it. I stream music too from the app but this opens my world up that much more. I love Sonos products. I hope this doesn’t become obsolete like my connect gen 1 that I don’t know what to do with.

A bit expensive but works like a charm. Easy to setup and really good for sound distribution via existing multi channel amplifier or a Blue tooth transmitter for headphones. I hope Sonos will provide in the future an inhouse headphone solution. Until then.... We have an workaround.

I have my Sonos Port media streamer integrated into my outdoor audio systems which includes the Sonance SGS 8.1 amp and speaker system, Sonos amp, 50" Insignia TV, Sonos Beam Gen 2 soundbar, and a pair of Polk Audio Atrium 8 SDI speakers. I primarily use the Port to stream my favorite Spotify and Pandora music lists/radio stations, although there are a ton of other streaming services available as well. The music streaming through my various speaker systems sounds incredible. Great little product.

I was looking for a way to hear my vinyl records on my home SONOS system and voila...enter the SONOS PORT. Got it hooked up in 15 minutes (a couple of false starts but I figured it out). Sounds great and I can control it from my iPhone app. Love it. I was able to purchase this as an open box from Best Buy online - was in perfect condition and I saved some money. I am totally happy with my purchase.

Bought a home with 8 zones of in ceiling speakers. I was reluctant to purchase 8 Sonos Amps at 650 each so I got a 8 zone amp and added Sonos ports to 4 of them and older google Chromecast audios to the other channels. If Google still made Chromecast Audio I would have used them on all zones. This device us good and easy to setup but 450 a zone is a bit much.
