I reviewed the Sonos Arc separately, and the Sub has a single function, so it's a lot less obvious how to review it. But that single function, it performs admirably: when you add the Sub, you can hear the difference when you're watching something at a high volume that really benefits from the heftier bass. It's also very well built and looks great. I don't know if everyone loves the reflective black surface, but I think it looks premium. The best thing I can probably say about it is that I've given it hardly any thought since I set it up a month ago. It just ... works. So why four stars instead of five? Honestly, this sucker is almost as expensive as the Arc, but it's a supplemental piece only, and the Arc is so dang good that the Sub only makes a significant difference when you're cranking up something that relies on that hefty bass. I streamed Top Gun: Maverick, and wow, you can really tell. I'm sure if you're a gamer, it would be a major addition. But if you usually just watch regular programming at middle-to-lower volume, I'm not sure it would be worth an additional $700+.

These subwoofers are great. It gives you all the bass you will need. I have 2 of them, I use one with the Beam 2 and one with the ARC. The Beam is in a 15x25 room and the Arc is in a 25x25 room.

Really adds to the system if you have the rest of the surround sound. The sound is immediately more richer. But you don’t get a heavy base that goes through to your neighbours apartment.

When I revamped my surround sound a couple of years ago, I started off with a Playbar and added the rear speakers pretty quickly. I always felt the Playbar sounded excellent on its own and just couldn’t bring myself to the cost of the sub. Well, after finally adding the sub, I have to admit, I was missing out. The amount of depth the sub adds to all sources is impressive. TV, games, music, they all all sound even better. Even at low volume, the sub can be heard filling in the low end. The in-store display at my local store does not do the sub justify. I’m definitely pleased and it was worth the investment.

I bought this sub to complete the Sonos set. I have an Arc and 2 One SLs. If you are going to use the sub while watching a movie at above average volume it is a perfect addition to your collection. However, if you are just watching TV or playing games at normal to below average volume then you will not hear a noticeable difference coming from the sub. Gave 4 stars due to pricing - not enough value for the price.

This is the BEST subwoofer for a home theater. I had the Bose 700 with the Bose Soundbar 900 and I took it back for the Sonos Arc and Gen 3 sub. The Bose system sounded amazing and although the 700 subwoofer sounds really good, it was still missing something on the low end!! I’m very very happy with my Sonos system. I actually purchased dual subs, and 2 Sonos One’s for my rears. I’m blown away every time I play a movie. I love watching Mad Max Fury Road, Ford vs. Ferrari, and even A Bug’s Life sounds phenomenal. If you’re considering the Sonos surround system you will NOT be disappointed!!!!

The Sonos gen3 sub that I purchased and added to my system is phenomenal ! From its sleek look to the hole in the center it’s the best looking/sounding sub I’ve ever had . This was the final piece to my home theater system (Arc , 2-Era 300’s and gen3 sub) and it outperforms expensive hardwired systems with only 4 components wirelessly .

My last Soundbar and subwoofer setup was Sony-made. Within 2 months of purchase, my subwoofer speaker was blown and worse, it would inexplicably and intermittently disconnect from the soundbar that was less than 5 feet away. When I purchased my new tv i knew it was time for a change. After reading reviews for the Sonos bar and subwoofer, I knew it was worth it even if more expensive than what I had budgeted. The bass is impeccable out of the subwoofer. It sounds so creamy smooth. I recommend to anybody that is on the fence. Do not worry about saving a few dollars for an inferior product you will be stuck with for years.

This SONOS Gen 3 Sub kicks the cr*p out of the former Samsung Q80R sub I had. (That went into my bedroom which is fine for that room) But for primary Home Theater, this Gen3 Sub is way more profound than I expected. It goes down to the lowest frequencies. Explosions in the 4K Dolby Atmos movie 1917 made my very large room pound. I was concerned maybe I would want to add a second sub. I absolutely do not feel like I 'need' another sub. I could even turn this one down and it would kick butt. Super easy to connect from the app, no cables. Plug it into AC wall power and you're done! Amazing sound for music and movies. It is not just about Boom. It is MUSICAL!
