The Sony 10-18mm lens is sharp, compact and lightweight. This is a must have lens for landscape, architectural, and environmental portrait photography. I have attached two images, both taken with the Sony A6000 and the Sony 10-18mm lens. I'm very pleased with the results.

I thought about buying this lens for so long before I finally did it. Yes, it’s much more expensive than other lenses but so worth it. I love having OSS, and as someone who mostly takes pictures of landscapes, I can finally get everything in the picture I need to. The video is so crisp and the wide angle has completely changed my video quality :)

Love this lens. Super sharp and very wide. Big plus is being able to use this lens on my full frame A7II even though it’s not an E not an EF lens. A very fun lens to use in the city.

Quality Sony lens used for urban exploration on my A7SII has allowed me to capture hundreds of shots unobtainable from a different lens.
A hint I did not find while researching - when capturing video with this lens, keep at 16mm focal length, any other length will capture a 'vignette' look of the outside lens casing.

I'm new to the Sony a6300 camera, and I bought these lens because I was going on a family trip and they worked AMAZING!!! The pictures came out looking amazing, to the point where I didn't even have to edit any of the pictures. Overall, great purchase!! It was worth the money!

This lens has opened up my view by 30º compared to my other Sony wide angle lens. Yes, it cost hundreds more, but is well worth it. The clarity and light allowed is fantastic.

So you are looking at this lens and I know exactly what's holding you back from buying it. It's not the build quality or functionality, but rather the price. I completely understand as I was in your shoes as well when I was about to purchase it. You are probably thinking do I get the 10-18 or 18-105. Will the 18 be wide enough? I can probably just use the 18-105 and get a lot more vocal range. Well I have both of those lenses and I have to say that they are the essential lenses for an aps-c camera. I have them on an a6500 and that built in optical steady shot with the lens' optical steady shot makes for some of the smoothest handheld video you will see. If you are more into photography you can set a slower shutter speed and you will be amazed with the results. I would highly recommend this lens or the 18-105 for your first lens on the Sony cameras. Unless you need the additional focal range I think you will do just fine with the wide 10-18 as it gets nearly everything in the shot.

I shoot a lot and needed something wide. This lens is so sharp and yet so small and easy to carry. I used to carry a Tokina 11-16 2.8 but it was too heavy to just keep on hand.

For 900 bucks, it is great. The f4 is a little slow, but there is nothing else. Distortion is ok, but an easy fix in post. Sharpness improves at f5 or more, and 10mm on crop frame is cool. As an added bonus, attach this to an a7 or a9, and between 12 and 16mm you get almost full coverage. Lot of distortion, but definitely cool for some unique shots, especially of the sky or storms.

For Me, A Good Lens, Low Value

I have a Sony NEX-7, and the one remaining E-mount lens on my shopping was the "wide"; other than the Sony 18-55 kit lens and my Sigma 19mm, I still thought a wider lens would fill in what I perceived as a gap in focal range. After reading lots of reviews of the 10-18mm, I spotted it as an open-box offering on BB's site. I wanted to like it, and in many ways, I did - the images were pretty good, it has OSS, and the NEX-7 can do in-camera corrections. However, after comparing the image quality to an open-box Rokinon 12mm f2.0 manual lens costing less than a third of the open-box Sony's nearly seven bills, I simply couldn't justify spending that much on a lens that might not see that much use. I decided to return the Sony, as good a lens as I think it is - its cost/benefit might work out for others, just not for me.

This 10-18mm Lens can capture small Bedrooms and Bathrooms from corner to corner. This is a fun lens to have in my bag and I have used it to capture landscapes, cityscapes, full length of vehicles at minimum distance or tight spots, etc... The pictures are clear with minimum distortion or fish-eyeing.
