After reading so many reviews and searching other brands i decided to go with this one because of the hi res and balanced cable, even thou i had to buy an adapter to use the balance output from my fiio x3 i really like them, the sound is good, i prefer balanced, and they are so comfortable that i can wear for hours and don't even feel them on my ears. I would recommend.

These are my new favorite headphones. They're extremely light and very comfortable. I don't think the pads are easily replaceable, so it's a good thing I like them so far. The sound is pretty remarkable: very clean at all frequency ranges. Somewhat small soundstage with the shallow pads. I also have Sennheiser 58x, hifimann 4xx, and Fostex Dekoni blues for frame of reference.

I love these headphones!! They have great sound and fit so nice and relaxing. They're very comfortable even if you wear glasses. I was worried about my ears hurting because of the glasses, but I've had no issue. They just fit so nice around your ears.

Like many of you I've had my share of decent headphones. Back in the 90's I got a pair of Sony MDRV-6 Studio Monitors and up until my dog ate the ear pads off and gnawed the drivers worked and sounded perfectly. Had a pair of yellowed foam Sennheiser's before that and although super crisp they lacked bass. These MDR1AM2 are the best I've ever owned. They fail in no manner. With that said, I've got to admit that I'm listening to these plugged into the headphone jack of Bose Companion 2 Series II computer speakers. Those are connected to a laptop and I'm Youtube streaming Mumford and Sons 'Delta'. I know, I know but if they can sound this good in a less than Ideal listening setup, I can only imagine what they sound like with decent equipment. I went to Best Buy to look into a turntable, amp and speakers, they didn't have much after Christmas and I ended up with these headphones. I am so glad I did.

Excellent headphones. If you want some great quality entry level audiophile headphones these won't disappoint. They also are very light weight and comfortable for hours of use. Great for gaming as well.

Bought them as a Mother’s Day gift for my mom. She loves them says they are great quality. And with the new born baby she can still rock out and let the baby sleep at the same time.

My husband bought these and they work well. He plugs them into his iPad and he can hear well and I can't hear what he is listening to, which I like. Does what it should. Lightweight.

Very happy with this purchase. Long time since I had over-the-ear headphones and they really sound great when listening to my hi-resolution discs. Highly recommended. Also, look out for price fluctuations on this item. I paid $300 and within a few days price dropped to $250.

Even though it is a little pricey it is well worth the money. If you don't want to be bombarded by wifi in your head... this is the way to go. Excellent product, great sound and very light.

Great sounding pair of headphones! Sony did a great job with these bad boys. They are really comfortable to wear for long periods of times and sound AMAZING!

Light and comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. Nice sound. Only complaint is sometimes I hear a crackling noise but it goes away if I change the volume.

Takes some time to get used to - there was about a week of a break in period that was followed by a warm crisp clear sound whenever the source material is hifi or better. The 360 Reality option is great as well when connecting through the app. Though considering how young the concept is, the amount of material mastered specifically for the experience is a little lacking. The only reason I would remove a star is because of the vocal quality, I find it distant and not quite as immersive compared to other Hi Res headphones

They have punchy bass that doesn't smear the music as well as great detail if you use a DAC and stream at high quality with services like Tidal on a smartphone. The audioquest dragonfly red DAC drives them nicely and is also sold on this site. I own the sony xm4's and, while they're great as anc wireless headphones with a ton of features, they don't compare to these wired headphones in terms of the clarity, detail, and controlled bass. These are great for quality listening.

You simply can’t beat the comfort and sound quality at this price point. To me the sound is better than the latest wireless cans that Sony currently offers.
