One of my worst purchases

Owned for 3 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I researched, including talking to sales rep for several months before deciding on Sony CT800 soundbar. I was advised by one salesman that it was a waste to buy a 2.1 channel soundbar as it only increases the volume but doesn't add to the sound but I assumed I could add a pair of rear speakers for a good price and come out better than buying an inferior 5.1. Well I didn't do enough research pre purchase, as now I'm finding there is only 1 speaker(Sony srs zr5) that may accommodate my ultimate goal and they cannot be found at any retailer and seem to be more expensive than the soundbar itself. I give it a 2 because it is loaded with features. It has bluetooth in and out so I can listen to music from my phone but also use bluetooth headphones with it for late night tv without disturbing others. It also works with my google home to stream music. If you're fine with a 2.1 setup just for increased volume, it's okay but I do feel that I wasted my money and wish I had a 5.1 setup instead. Anyone want to take this off my hands? Please

Got this open box
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My review may not be entirely accurate since I got this as an open box item, probably because it was returned.It was certified by Geek Squad but on getting it home and setting i up to replace my mid level Sony sound bar, this unit had no volume and I couldn't get the sub to kick in. Maybe this was just a faulty unit but I went back to using my original sound bar which sounded much much better.Returned the unit.Still a Sony fan,

Great when it worked

good for movies sound effects with non existent..

Reason; dialogues are not audible and had to cranked up the volume to listen to the dialogues. Night mode nothing helps at all. This sound bar has good cinematic sound effects. Subwoofer is subpar as well with non impressive bass.

Sound Bar not so soundly

It would not work on a consistent basis. One day it seemed to work, the next day it didn't. Strange situation. I could not keep the sound level consistent with the movie or show I was watching. Just not happy with this purchase.

poor performer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the speakers for my Christmas present for the house. unfortunately the sub wolfer speaker does not always pick up the Bluetooth signal and you have to turn it off then back on to catch the signal. sometimes this happens in the middle of a movie. I paid 300 and think I will bring it back!

Ok sound

Difficult to connect

Have to scroll through the inputs multiple times before the sound will play. Would take it back if it weren’t passed the grace period.

Good sound quality when it worked

Sound is lacking

Wasted my 10% off coupon

not worth it

Not up to Sony standards

Knew I needed sound bar to have decent sound. Specs on bar alluded that dialogue would be okay. Not true, dialogue was drowned out with minimal adjustment capability. Took it back to store and the only Sony sound system that would meet my needs was $1499. Nothing in between! Disappointing. Ordered Nakamichi for half the price
