Second Purchase First One Stopped Operating

This item works well with my Sony TV in terms of seamless connection and setup, but the TV remote will only power the device on or off, mute, and volume up or down. It uses the HDMI port to the TV’s ARC input port. In terms of sound quality, the item sounds good, but I wish the volume was louder and consistent amongst all input ports, such as the cable box, wireless streaming, or device input port. The size of the item is great, I have it on a desktop below a wall mounted TV and it doesn’t look too wide or tall. Sony does not include screws or device specific pegs for the bar to be mounted to a bar/tv mount, so it’s either put on a desk/table or play around with installing into drywall. No HDMI cable included, but a short optical cable was in the box. Overall a good buy for the price but not a premium item. Best thing about it is it’s size and ease of use, you should be up and running quicker than taking it out of the box. Now if Sony would only improve their user manuals and terminology it would be easier to get the best settings for use with your TV and devices.

I wanted something midsized and even though it's only 23 inches wide it definitely delivers. The remote is somewhat small and even though you can use it comfortably, the smaller size does take some time getting used to. This paired quite easily with my Sony television and I'd recommend this product.

It's only a 2-channel soundbar and it doesn't come with a sub, but it is very compact, a fair price point, and it has great sound for what it is. This is not the soundbar for an audiophile, but it's perfect for a small bedroom or kitchen.

If you are looking for something for a home theater, then you might consider something else. I find the sound good and even surprising when the side speakers kick in because I think there is something outside (speaker by the patio door) . It was easy to install and was up and running in minutes.

Boom for your buck

If you are looking for theater surround sound this is not your speaker. Obviously you need another type of speaker system. But if you are looking for a compact small living room type of speaker? This is it. Has a built in subwoofer which delivers a descent punch. Bottom line the speaker is perfect because it does not take up a lot of space and you almost forget that it’s there.

Sony advised this and a slightly more expensive model. Previously-read reviews and a Best Buy salesman taught me not to expect perfection, but the sound bar lived up to all research and descriptions. Sound and clarity are good. Set-up was easy. This will be an excellent fix until I will (eventually) have to replace the tv.

My only hiccup is that it seems to desync oddly with even my Sony TV and requires me to unplug my TV and replug it for it to find the sound bar again sometimes. I haven't found a workaround for this otherwise yet.

Terrible for bluetooth

It has a really loud and clear bass sound that you'll never get from TV speakers. If you're gonna use it for video games, make sure you use a wired connection (HDMI cord) and not the bluetooth or you'll have an unbearable sound delay.

Thanks for taking the time to review your HT-S200F. We're glad that you like the impressive sound quality this soundbar delivers. We regret to hear if the sound is not in sync with the image. We value your input and appreciate the feedback. If a Bluetooth audio device is connected, there may be a delay between the picture and sound due to the properties of Bluetooth. You can adjust the delay between the picture and sound with the A/V sync setting if your TV has a A/V sync function. However, the responsiveness of the TV while playing video games may feel slower due to the [A/V sync] setting adding a delay to the output timing of the picture. For games that are dependant on response time, we do not recommend you use a Bluetooth device and recommend that you use the TV speakers or a sound bar with a wired (HDMI cable/digital optical cable) connection instead.
