One of the best affordable soundbars not having an external sub. I do with there was a way to update this though. I need Sony to have an auto-off feature. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars but honestly, it's an annoyance. This is the year 2022 and we have an electronic device that doesn't turn off after X amount of time on standby. This will stay on an entire year if you're not careful. 1st world problems I know, but it's such an easy software update Sony!

When you set the auto standby function to on, the system enters standby mode automatically when you do not operate the system for about 20 minutes and the system is not receiving an input signal. A good basic sound bar

The only fault I have with this unit is that the volume needs to be set pretty high. This may be something that i am not doing right. I read the quick setup guide and have not had time or inclination to spend a lot more time with it. I purchased this for my Kitchen TV, a 43 in 400H. It is more expensive than similar sound bars from other manufacturers but I'm hooked on Sony. The base is not incredible, no separate sub-woofer, but adequate for my kitchen. The overall sound quality is excellent. I occasionally shift modes depending on the content, so I do keep the remote handy, but the TV remote handles the volume due to the HDMI connection. I used the wall-mount option. The included template made it easy, but including a couple of cheap screws and wall anchors would have been appreciated. I do not regret the purchase.

Excellent for PC Use

With a Bluetooth connection everything comes on and works without any intervention. The sound is excellent better than any PC speaker previously used in many cases less expensive.

Sony is always my first choice

Not just recently but for YEARS, i have been buying this brand for a long time and it seems that the Tv, DVD player, Blu ray, sound bars, speakers, i could go on. They seem to last longer than other brands in my opinion

This is 1000 times richer than the sound that came from the TV. I like that is very small and easy to connect. I wanted to get a nice decent upgrade in sound quality and this delivered. I appreciate that the subwoofer is incorporated into the sound bar and that it can be connected via HDMI

Added this sound bar to my new 65 inch Sony OLED TV in the den and am really please with the TV picture and the sound bar. While this sound bar is not going to provide thundering movie theatre sound and thumps, it does a decent job with movie apps and sports channels. I elevated the sound bar up a few degrees in the front since the Subwoofer is on the bottom of the sound bar. This gives a little more kick when the the bass button is activated on the sound bar remote control. The sound bar was easy to add to the TV and turns on simultaneously when the TV is turned on. You can turn off the sound bar anytime with the remote control and the sound defaults to TV speakers.

Great soundbar

Using this with a sony TV buy sometimes get a static sound and have no figured out if it's a hardware or configuration issue.

I use it in my gazebo at my campsite and I’m very pleased with the sound it produces. The volume is more than adequate for my needs. I have a 32” TV, and this compact speaker fits perfectly in between the feet of the TV, so I can place the speaker right up against it. The infrared repeater built into the speaker allows for this. I highly recommend reading the owner’s manual, as most of the buttons on the remote have more than one function to customize the speaker. I decided to use an HDMI cable rather than the optical cable that was provided, to connect the speaker to my TV. The HDMI cable allows the TV and the speaker to turn on and off together when I use my TV remote, along with displaying my volume number on the TV screen. This also also allows me to utilize the volume and mute functions on my TV remote. I also enjoy the Bluetooth feature of the speaker to play music wirelessly from my phone. If you’re looking for a compact soundbar that is very versatile for a small environment, then I would recommend this Sony speaker.

Before the sound on his TV was down in front and has to turn his tv pretty loud. With this sound bar it is more of a surround sound and his roommate are not annoyed with the loudness.
