Certainly worth the money!

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own the Sony 100-400mm lens as well and this lens, though not a G Master lens, is certainly its equal in autofocus speed and sharpness. The extra weight is what you pay for the extra 200mm of reach but I think its a more-than-fair trade off. I used the 100-400mm with the Sony 1.4x tele-extender and I feel I get better speed in the autofocus and better resolution with the 200-600mm.

AMAZING

I switched from a sigma 100-400 lens. This lens shoots better for wildlife, however, it is quite a bit heavier than any other lens I know. I have to use it with a monopod if I'm shooting for long periods of time. It's hard to get objects sharp but there's some learning curve to it. Remember your buttons on the side because THEY DO MATTER. Change that focus for infinity or closer if need be. Overall, its a great lens!

I was lucky to get this at the very discounted open box price. Great lens for birding! If you aren't a big strong person you will definitely want to plan on using this with a tripod 99% of the time - I am a petite woman and it's nearly impossible for me to get a clear shot without any motion blur if I am using this thing without a tripod or monopod

Heavy, but worth it.

I was going to use it to replace my Sigma 100-400mm but ended up keeping both as the the 100-400 is way easier to travel with and keep the 200-600 for specific wildlife trips. It seems to focus better and faster, and gets the reach with even a little sharper photos.

Excellent super telephoto lens

Solid functionality with an internal zoom which makes this lens an even more ideal super telephoto lens. Surprisingly, lens is much lighter than it looks. Overall, I’m very pleased with quality, design, functionality of this lens. The price, on the other hand, is quite high!!!

Impressive lens, especially for the price!

I finally feel like I’m getting the reach I need when shooting wildlife, and being able to add a 1.4 teleconverter makes this lens an incredible 280-840mm, with sharpness only taking a small hit (impressive since I’m shooting on a demanding 61mp sensor). This lens is not as tack sharp as the Sony 100-400mm, and it’s certainly more bulky to carry around, but the pros definitely outweigh any negatives I can find.

Great Lens

This lens is fantastic amd much sharperthan the Tamron. I like that it does not get larger as you zoom in on a subject, its all internal.

Nice lens and sharp

Having recently put it to the test in the wilderness...the lens is sharp and internal zoom is great for maintaining balance either handheld or on tripod/monopod.

It is about as heavy as you would expect but you can still shoot without a monopod. it’s viciously sharp and i’ve pulled of some nice background blur on wildlife shots. well worth the money

Great option to pair with high end camera

Being in totality, this worked as expected. The quality is great, but the real workhorse of the picture is the camera, not the lens. Still, it took some OK pictures with an Alpha6x

It is great for birds/wildlife and takes clear and sharp photos. The large size does take some getting used to, but the size of the lens just comes with the territory of a lens of this capability.
