Shh we're hunting moose and boy did we get a doozy

My wife did some practice with it at the Rocky Mountain National Reserve to catch some eagles and buffalo. The one day that we finally have a lens for those long shots of buffalo but they decided to stand in the road and bump our car. The true test came while visiting the Grand Tetons which this lens did everything we hoped. Moose pond once again gave the perfect back drop to the mother and her young teen. It is a great weight compared to the Canon which means my wife didn't mind hiking with it for a few miles.

Great Lens…Easy Pick Up!

I am happy with my purchase and can’t wait to fully enjoy all the perks of the 200-600mm lens. The camera store I originally went to didn’t have this lens and it would be on back order if I wanted it. I checked online at Best Buy and never regretted it from there…

Not for the novice photographer!

It's a great lens for telephoto photography, and it certainly has SONY quality, but because of its relatively slow speed (high aperture) it's hard to get clean, focused shots at distance--ESPECIALLY in lower light situations. And that's even with the internal OSS AND the camera's optical image stabilization. So, unless you have the patience for wildlife photography, and a sturdy monopod or tripod, don't bother with this lens. Did I mention that it's heavy? If you're still interested in buying this lens, try it out first, either by borrowing one or renting one. Really, you might be very disappointed if you don't know what you're getting yourself into. I sure was.
