    Not worth the money

This is in no way worth the price especially when you throw in the extra surround speakers which aren't included. It claims Atmos and while it does know how to decode and make an attempt at it without upfiring speakers it just doesn't cut it. So basically you are paying for an Atmos soundbar but not really getting Atmos. Besides the Atmos the sound is decent when it works. However for me it did not work much of the time. I would have issues with the wireless speakers cutting in and out randomly to the point of being unusable. After talking with Sony tech support multiple times their answer was to have it sent in to be repaired. This was working incorrectly right out of the box. Unfortunately I thought the problem was my streamer at the time and didn't return it within the return period so now only option was to deal with Sony. They won't just replace it with a new one even though it was broken in the box. And they won't pay for the packing either. Huge hassle, not worth it. If yours is working great but I would not recommend buying new especially with Sony's lack of good support after the buy.

HDMI ARC broke after a week

This Sony sound bar and my new Sony 900 4K TV were supposed to be "made for each other" according to the Sales Rep. I installed according to instructions. After a week, the HDMI ARC would no longer let me control the volume with my TV remote. Multiple attempts to re-do set up unsuccessful. Nor would it return sound to the Sound Bar when watching an app like Netflix or Prime. I had to remove the ARC cable and by an optical cable. Lower quality sound (though still nice - but not "Axios" level) and separate remote for all volume control. The box was resealed with "Geek Squad" tape when I bought it. It was missing the mounting screws that were supposed to be included.

Signal Loss Issues with Dolby Vision and HDR10

Once I get the movie to play it sounds great, unfortunately I'm having intermittent signal issues with DV and HDR10. I am using ULTRA premium certified HDMI cables and the HDMI Ultra settings is active for both TV and Soundbar is set to Enhanced HDMI. I'm basically getting the message no signal from my TV but I can hear the sound. It seems with every chapter skip prior to the actual movie the screen changes from SDR to HDR and this is when I lose the signal. Switching to the soundbar menu screen and back to the HDMI input from soundbar usually fixes it, still frustrating through. I called Sony and their suggestion was to wait until a software update is released. Very disappointed.

I bought this with a Sony Bravia 4K tv and this sound system is not what the sales guy sold me on. The one issue I have and it is huge is the lip sync. It continuously gets out of sync even after the system update. If I could I would return this. I don’t get how it doesn’t ever work matched up with a high end Sony TV.

I bought this because the new Sony 4k tv has poor sound quality, Unfortunately the sound this produces does not make me happy. Honestly, the sound on my harman kardon bluetooth is much better than this soundbar system. Not impressed

Let me start off by saying I’m not that fond of sound bars but this one just sounds so weak to be this much money (relative paid $700) there’s no way I could recommend someone to purchase it.

Sound quality an upgrade from TV speakers but definitely no wow factor. I had issues with two separate units where they would reset randomly. Switched to the ST5000 and would definitely recommend spending the extra.

This system has great sound but I believe you can get a comparable system for about half the price. It just doesn’t have the power or bass that a system for that price should have.
