Glitchy software makes TV unusable

Owned for 8 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After 8 months of use, here are my impressions: Pros: This Sony TV has a great picture and sound, and a simple remote, Cons: The TV's software is very glitchy, causing long delays when you want to do ANYTHING, including load Netflix or Hulu or Max, or switch between streaming and live TV, or even turn on the TV. I've reset and updated the TV, but the problems persist. Another problem with this TV is the Google TV platform it uses. It's super clunky and difficult to add any streaming services in addition to the few that are pre-loaded. I'm very surprised with how bad it is, because I've always been very happy with Sony TVs since the first one I owned in the late 1970s. After this experience I'm DONE with Sony TVs.

Easy to operate. While expensive compared to other TVs, I consider it a good investment based upon Sony's reputation for quality, durable parts.

Don't be dissuaded by the 720p Resolution

The image quality on this one is far superior. The TV does Have HDR10 and HLG support, which is not common for a TV of this size, and between that and Sonys image processor, this televisions image quality blows others out of the water, even if they boast higher resolution.

What makes this set more useable for me was the feet which are closer than similar sets. This set fits nicely on a smaller table than other sets. Setup was very straight forward and the set works very well.

Starts slowly at times. Legs are not too wide apart so TV can fit on narrow surfaces. Overall, very satisfied with TV.

Very sharp picture (and good sound) despite it's HDTV rating (720p, vs. 1080). Perfect for its purpose.

The tv did not come with good instructions and trouble shooting problems. The set up of the tv was difficult. I also had a power outage and when the power was restore the tv had to be reset. I had to go online to get instructions and trouble shooting advice to get the problem resolved.
