Disappointment with Multiple Products

I first bought this Sony TV along with an HT-S2000 soundbar, linked together with an up-to-date HDMI cable. The audio reception cycled back and forth between the TV speakers and the soundbar speakers multiple times an hour. The geek squad was unable to resolve the problem. I first replaced the soundbar. Recycling continued. I then replaced this TV. No improvement. Sony on-line support was useless. After a large outlay of extra money, replacing the intended HDMI cable with an old-fashioned and less convenient optical cable finally solved the problem. Although reception and sound are now fully acceptable (5 star even), Sony has a technical problem with its hardware that they need to resolve. I could not in good faith recommend this combination to anyone else.

The problem I have with it is that takes a minute to get going. It cycles through screens a minute, connects to the sound bar, then disconnects, reconnects, then plays sound through both speakers and sound bar for a bit. Its annoying. Can't get in any hurry trying to watch anything. Called Sony support, they told me to unplug it and plug it back in. That was laughable. and this process did NOTHING. It was a week past Best Buys exchange date when all this started happening. We don't have this issue with our other model Sony Smart TV's, guess those are smarter! I will be replacing this thing shortly! I won't even give it away, it's going to recycle.

Airplay does not work

Airplay does not function. Audio stutters and is unintelligble. Have tried most of the troubleshooting techniques -- disabling Bluetooth on casting device (iPhone), looking for interference from other nearby devices, but nothing helps. The picture is good. The speakers are as expected: tinny and small. The size is good for the area we needed a tv for, and went with Sony due to reputation.

Posted .Hi Dakkid, thanks for taking the time to share your experience with the Sony - 32" Class W830K. We apologize for the issues you've encountered with airplay, that is definitely not experience we want you to have. Here are extra steps that can help:
1- Restart the TV and the Router, you can do this by unplugging both devices from the power for 2 minutes
2- Restart your apple device
3- Make sure your TV is up to date, you can go to settings > system > about > system software update > software update
4- Accept the Bravia privacy policy, do this by selecting settings > help and feedback > help > status and diagnostics > privacy settings > scroll down and select agree and then proceed.

Nice bright picture, but problems on the dark side

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't know what to say, but for me, it was a bit of a mixed bag, mostly to the downside. I bought this in hopes of getting better contrast than what's offered by more budget-friendly brands, a few 32-inch TVs which I own, and I think it does that pretty well. The picture is very vibrant in bright scenes, and the blacks are dark making the deeply saturated colors really pop(I was watching Elemental to test the colors), so the picture looks amazing, the problem I had was with the dark scenes, they were so dark that I couldn't make anything out. Watching Spiderman: Homecoming, the scene where they were in the car before they went to the party, I couldn't even make out the face of Peter's friend in the backseat, it was too dark, but it was very clear on the other TV I used to compare. Seeing this was pretty shocking actually, knowing I was watching the same scene from the exact same source though they looked so different. My real purpose, however, was to use the TV as a computer monitor, but there is a significant lag with the cursor when moving the mouse making it very frustrating bordering on unbearable, this also didn't happen with my other TV. Long story short, my inability to make things out in dark scenes, the cursor lag, and the fairly high price tag, all ended up being dealbreakers for me, so I ended up returning the TV after being considerably disappointed, and my search for a better TV/PC monitor will have to continue.

A Good TV For A Small Space

It has inputs for HDMI, composite video and also USB-A. There is an ethernet port for network access and it also connects wirelessly to ones home network. You can use it to watch shows via apps to download or hook up a video game console to it.

The quality of the source is a big factor in getting an excellent picture quality. As a workaround, you might try adjusting the picture settings, such as increasing the brightness or switching to a different picture mode for a more balanced look. Picture settings also allow a wide array of changes to color, contrast, clarity, motion settings, and brightness that can improve the viewed content on your Google TV. The picture quality may improve if you change it in [Picture] under [Settings].
