This lens has been my go-to throughout the past year for street photography and general video purposes with my a6500. It is the perfect form factor for travel photos and performs fantastically with an ND thrown on the front if you want incredible looking DOF in video. The only complaint I have isn't really against the lens itself, as nearly all lenses in this category suffer from this, but the focus ring just is not very useful for capturing critical focus, and any amount of fiddling will not let you get perfect focus, even under the most controlled circumstances.

This is a great lens perfect for street photography and also portraits as well, and with it being ale to go as low as f1.8 it’s perfect for low lighting situations

Excellent lens. Bought this lens for low light photography, and night photography. It also does excellent landscape photography. Nice, quick focus action, and it's currently my favorite lens.

The lense is bright and sharp. It has steadyshot (image stabilization) and good for videos too. Bokeh (background blurring) is decent and good for portrait shooting which is why I bought it. Pictures are sharp corner to corner. Good bang for your money.

I was looking for a reasonably priced prime lens and this has exceeded my expectations! This lens is very sharp and the depth of field is fantastic! Highly recommend!

This lens is compact and sharp, giving both good bokeh and a fairly wide image. It may not be as sharp as a 50, but when cropped, it’s awfully good. An all-around solid choice.

I'm a newbie to the photography hobby. With that being said, I'm also strapped for cash so I am cautious on spending. This lens is definitely not on the affordable spectrum (in my opinion) but it is definitely affordable compared to higher end lenses.
I have no regrets purchasing this. The lowest f stop this lens can handle is 1.8 - which is great. That's one less thing for me to work on in Photoshop. The colors are phenomenal and can auto focus pretty quickly. This also is quieter than the lens kit that came with the Sony NEX-C3.
This lens is great for close range photos. For portraits, it's better to get the 50mm - which is actually cheaper.

I recently purchased a Sony a6000 for my wife and wanted to add a nice fast prime lens to her bag.
On an APS-C sensor (like the a6000) a 35mm lens is equivalent to a 50mm lens on a full frame camera. This is a nice lens for street photography or portraits amongst other things. Because it can open up to f1.8, it's great for low light work or for shots where you want a narrow depth of field along with bokeh.
This lens is a nice step up from the kit lenses that came with the a6000 and is capable of producing some amazingly sharp and detailed photographs. Depending on your needs, I would definitely recommend putting this on your short list for a prime lens.

Great lens! Love it! A must have for sure for alpha and nex camera owners!! Worth the little investment. Great for wide angle pictures plus OSS, small, light, just great!

35mm is a standard lens for both photo & video. The clarity and stabilization provided by the lens, along with the low f-stop and lightweight makes this a great buy to add to your camera bag. Highly recommend for those who often shoot in low light and on a budget.

Have used this lens on my A6000 and my A7 with spectacular results. Sharp throughout. Great for low light and tight spaces. Would definitely recommend this lens.

This is my go-to lens for the a6300. The image quality is great and the low f/stop makes for fantastic pictures in low light and great portraits with bokeh.

Awesome all around lens, at this focal point, you can get decent portraits and landscape, though it’s not crazy wide it great if you need one lens that is sharp and fast for general purpose shooting. Hate the price though.
