I now get more pictures in desired focus and better overall shots. No zoom, so you have to work a bit, but you get used to that. This is a great everyday lens for children and basic everyday portraits with blurred background. People ask what professional took our pictures! Trust me, buy this first, and don't worry about the price. I can't imagine using this camera without it now.

Great natural focal length and fast!

I used the Sony 50mm and found the focal length to very narrow. Making it difficult for wider angle. The 35mm makes a decent portrait lens as well. In low light conditions the lens shines and produces nice bokeh.

As I continued to experiment with it, I loved the quality of the photos. It works great and it is amazing at taking portraits! Would definitely recommend if your photo purpose is portraits. I have yet to try it with landscapes.

My primary lense

It lets me get the shot without standing too far away. I also have the 50 mm 1.8, another great lense, but you need to back away more, I put this on the camera 90% of the time for most of my day to day shots and potrait shots. Yes, it's a little expensive, so also get a UV filter right away. Comes with a lense hood.

Sony Camera Lens

I loved my camera to begin with but one of the ladies working at the store gave me a small lesson on lenses and cameras and i fell in love with this lens. Now this lens is the one i use the most.
